Title says it all.

I used to be really bad when I lived at home and would throw my towels in the wash after every shower even though they were still clean.

My mum got annoyed with all the laundry. >.<

Now that I live out of home I will wash my towel every week, or sooner if I think it needs one. I'll just do a load of towels on a Friday afternoon.

Some people I know have left their towels unwashed for more than a year. It's simply disgusting. >.<

I can smell the towels when I go into their bathroom. =(

So how about you?

Haha what an odd topic :wacky:

I usually wash it just once a week on the weekend. Unless I think it needs to be washed sooner. A few years ago I would leave it for about a month before I washed it but that has since changed.

Stinky towels stink. :hmph:

Really, I think some are under the illusion that if they use it when they are clean and out of the shower...it will remain clean for awhile...and as I've learned that is not the case :wacky:

I'm pretty OCD about my laundry. I wash my bath towels after every use and I have to always use at least two dryer sheets with them or some fabric softener so they always smell really nice and clean. I wash my bed sheets every other week and always have to use two dryer sheets with those too. I can't stand when things smell stinky or off. I'm very smell obsessed with pretty much everything so I can't handle all that ewness :damon:

how can you leave it for more than a year, it'd be like cardboard :gasp:

Generally once a week with me, I go mad at Tom because he seems to just haave one towel that he uses, then hes looking at me all disaprovingly, because i want not one but 3 towels lol :wacky:

there just comes a point in the week where i jsut cant use that towel anymore, i have seperate ones for my hair which i dont mind leaving a little bit longer sometimes, but i cant have a towel on my body that just starts to feel unclean, or sill abit damp. it'll be straight in the washing machine... or the basket when i can be arsed doing the washing... got a pile of twels and bed linen in there now actually... pah

Probably around twice a week, though occasionally I may let it stay put for a full week before I take it out. However, I still haven't yet visited the laundry yet here and it's the 10th day I've been here now. It looks like a mandatory visit to the laundry tomorrow is definitely a must then. :gasp:

And it's nice to see that I'm not as obsessed over laundry as I think I am anymore. :wacky:

I used to wash my towel after every shower :| I would not use it twice and my mum used to go crazy at me for doing it.

Then I moved into my own house and washing towels all the time becomes a bother :rage: and I also realised, I just showered ... I am not dirty anymore so why do I need to wash it every time :hmmm: so now I was the towels once every 2 or 3 days.

The thread title makes it sound like there's only one bath towel in the house. :lew:

I use a towel for four or five days usually and then toss it in the laundry. We do our laundry once a week and we have plenty of bath towels so it's not really an issue. We just cycle through the clean ones and wash the dirty ones weekly.

The towel I prefer to use is washed at least twice in two weeks - once a week.

I say if you're using your towel to just dry yourself, then it won't get that dirty, but I understand for you cleanfreaks out there who need a clean towel everyday and don't feel like switching towels, so the clean towel each day is understandable. For me however, it's only use is to dry my purrrdy body.

what a weird question.....

usually i wash them at the end of a week. i have a hidden special place for them. when i finish using them all/most. i just bring the basket downstairs and wash it. Or leave it for other to do.

I usually switch out towels ever 2 weeks or so :hmmm: Before they start to get gross. Right now I'm using two towels because my hair gets all screwed up if it isn't dried enough before I go to school :hmph: Then they get thrown in the wash when we wash the whites :gasp:

About once a week. They don't get dirty since if there is any dirt on me that gets washed off in the shower. And by the time I use them the next day they are dry. I have nice fluffy towels so it is important that they get washed regularly. I have a towel in the bathroom that I use to dry my hands on etc, I usually wash that once or month, perhaps earlier than that if necessary.

i have seperate ones for my hair which i dont mind leaving a little bit longer sometimes, but i cant have a towel on my body that just starts to feel unclean, or sill abit damp. it'll be straight in the washing machine... or the basket when i can be arsed doing the washing... got a pile of twels and bed linen in there now actually... pah

I always have seperate ones for my hair too!

I always have one towel for drying off the rest of my body and then a seperate one for my hair.

When it comes Summer time here I generally wash my towels a lot more.

As soon as you step out of the shower you are sweaty all over again.

The one thing I hate about Queensland is the humidity.

I'll have all the windows open and have a freezing cold shower but I'll still feel all sticky and yuck as soon as I get out. <_< So washing the towel more often is a must in Summer. =/

We wash the towels with the rest of the laundro, so that would be about once a week. Just because that's the only time we can. So we make do and all that other stuff. I have another towel that I use as a door protector for my room to keep various lights from blinding me in the middle of the night. But I never even touch that one. So Ehh...

I use my hair and shaving towels about once or twice before they go in the wash, but my bath towels go in the wash basket after one use. :hmmm: Then they all get washed once a week.

I usually change mine once a week. As for when I wash them... it depends. Maybe once a month? We have plenty to last a long time before washing them.
