Was he challenging? Was a it a fun battle? Discuss

I thought that he was awesome. His entrance was cool and made the battle feel ominous. The overall battle was kind of easy, due to Terra dealing 9999 with Ragnorok, but it was a great battle. The tower of bosses leading up to him was fun and led into the final battle quite nicely.

I thought he was a funny final boss. I could never take him seriously while fighting, though. Even thought the fight was semi-hard.

It's funny, he's one of my favorite villains but he's not a very serious one. I just don't get how he's evil(besides poisoning those people that one time)besides that he just didn't say "super villain" to me.

I kinda thought he was trying too hard to be evil but there was always something missing.

He's not nice, but he definitely isn't a Sephiroth or somethin', that's for sure.

Don't think I'm bashing him, because I'm not. Him and Sephiroth are my two fav villains and I love them(Kelfka more)I can just admit he's not as evil of a villain as others, that's all.

Like every other classic Final Fantasy boss, Kefka changing into a huge humanoid monster was rather unnecessary and underwhelming, but at the time it was tradition so I suppose it was acceptable. Definitely the best boss in the series up to that point, no wonder he still has many classic RPG gamers as fans.

I thought it had been rather good. The final battle against him took a while, but had been accompanied by rather brilliant soundtracks made by the amazing Nobuo Uematsu. With those music, I didn't really dislike the battle so much, although it had been rather easy since I had already buffed up my characters to a ridiculous extent by that time.

Celes was basically equipped with the item that makes spells costs damn cheap. She can also double cast, and has learned Ultima. This is the same for the other characters, though they cast spells at either discounted mana costs, or at the original cost. Note that all of them has learned the spell 'Quick', and 'Ultima'.

Basically, thanks to these, the enemy bosses got little to no time to retaliate against the magical onslaught. Quite a satisfying battle, I'll admit.

I never found Kefka to be too hard of a final boss. Though I find that most final bosses from VI on are pretty easy. One of these days I figure that I will try to kill him with Realm, Stratego, Gau, and another not often used character to try to make it more challenging. That'll happen when I finally have the time D:

But I did love fighting him. He has the best battle music and it was nice to finally take revenge for everything he had done.

I only beat FFVI once and when I did, I had my party in the mid 70s, so it wasn't exactly hard, per se, to defeat him.

I thought it was immensely interesting how he took on a physical manifestation of masculine beauty. Adonis-like body with holy wings with implications I'm sure.

He wanted to be a god, and, well, damn - he certainly managed to look the part o_O

I had used a combination of quick+doublecast+ultima to beat him, so he was definitely on the easy side, but still very epic and quite fun (which could be said of FFVI as a whole, really). That Dancing Mad is such an epic composition further compounded this. As a whole, the final battle solidified Kefka as my favorite FF villain.

The exchange between Kefka and our characters before the final battle was memorable.
Kefka isn't very difficult to beat. I had no problem finishing him off in a matter of minutes and on the first try too. (Please take note that I spent some time finishing extra quests and obtaining powerful weapons. The ease may differ for those who never level up)

Adonis :)

The most memorable part is when he took all those forms, sorta like Michelangelo's artwork of the Last Judgment and other pieces of his work.

The fact that he was the first to become a god (Demi-God actually) and actually succeeded in destroying the world, was enough for me to believe he was the best villain ever to be made.

He poisoned a whole kingdom, burned villages down, killed his own men, killed Espers, killed humans, and then at the end with he used his Light of Judgment to break the world apart and kill thousands and thousands of people and then again when you are facing him.

He is a priceless villain. :)

Kefka was the hardest boss in the whole game .He was so powerful i never defeated him even with most of my characters.Who ever beat this game must have been way stronger than me.Hmmm

Best antagonist ever. The final boss battle was difficult, but not as difficult as Sephiroth to me. As a comparison to Sephiroth, I wanted to kick Kefkas butt more because of what he did throughout the game. While Sephiroth made me want revenge due to the plot in 7, the depth of which I wanted to take him down wasnt as strong as Kefka overall. Kefka became this arrogant god that destroyed the earth because he was an eccentric jerk looking for power. He killed loved ones of the characters and destroyed entire towns, and pretty much the entire planet.

I found the battle itself rather easy, but that was pretty much the norm with FFVI, however he was definatley the most interesting of FF final bosses and the music composition as you climbed the divine comedy made the battle so much more than the fight itself.

The transformation to the god of magic was also reflective of Kefka's goals, and even then from his final dialog you realise he wont stop until theres nothing left, one hell of an antagonist xD

Well. As a character, there have been few FF bosses I hated more, namely Sin and Sephiroth, and he was not nearly as difficult as I felt the "god of magic" should be. The said, he was a true psycho, and is my second or third favorite villain because I worked for a state hospital, and he allowed me to treat a psycho like I have always felt they should be treated, instead of babying murderers for being "Incompetent", I got to put his @$$ under. I really enjoyed it!

Kefka as the last boss were cool but not that challenging, pretty easy for havin four different forms. i got him with almost only one character and i was like lvl 66 or something. i think that character were Cyan, i had an awesome combo so kefka didn't really do much damage at all.

i was kinda surprised when i met him because a friend of mine had gone on and on about how hard he was. so i was OMG it's gonna be a challenge but no the fucktard were not challenging. but the music were cool it fitted with the whole environment. :D

Kefka was no doubt my favorite FF villain in the series. The only problem was that he was to easy. My party was around Lv. 55 and al I had to do was throw shurikens and use Ultima a few times and he was dead. I found the battles with Fiend, Goddess, and Demon harder. The ending was cool, but the battle was a little dissapointing for me.

I like how Kefka's ending song is 20 minutes long to match his epicness as a final boss. I had beaten many bosses from other FF games, this being my favorite fight to fight. He was a great boss! Very evil!

*although the ending boss in IV is harder >.>*

He wasn't at all challenging. Still one of the best final bosses, mainly because of the artistic part: music and looks.

I agree about the music, art, and evilness of Kefka. They were amazing. One of his lines is what sold me that he was the best boss ever, and that was right after the obligatory hero's stating why they are fighting speeches. He replies, after looking sad, or course, with, "You sound like chapters from a self-help booklet! Prepare yourselves!" I loved that. I did find goddess to be the only real challenge in the whole battle because she will definitely kill one character, even with Life 3 cast on them. I love Dancing Mad, one of my favorite songs. Also, very hard to play on piano, but invigorating.

I beat the game for the first time a couple of months ago, the party I had at the time was:

Terra Lv. 63, Edgar Lv. 57, Celes Lv. 52 and Relm Lv. 68

Sadly Celes died at the final form before the fight with Kefka himself, and Sabin Lv. 70 was brought in. I didn't have all that much trouble with him. Iunno if that was due to the levels, or just luck, but either way he's certainly not the hardest final boss in FF history in my opinion. As for villain? He's certainly outstanding and memorable, and just for the music (妖星乱舞) that plays during the fight, I'd say he's one of the best final bosses. Part of the reason this is my tied favourite FF.
