How was Kefka as a final boss?

I love Kefka. He was a clown who had no reason to be evil and in the final boss battle he revealed himself to be a naked six winged angel. Suck on that Sephiroth you broken Aerith killing, Shemale, silver haired psychopath of a pixy!

-Ahem- (Nothing against Sephiroth as a character he's just fun to poke fun at from time to time).

That said I never actually gotten that far into the video game but I watched the boss fight on YouTube and found it to be very entertaining.

I think they could have buffed him up a bit. He was really easy, but at least he wasn't Yu-Yevon easy. <3

Kefka is the greatest Villian ever, so he gets HUGE points for that. Turning into a mass of faces and bodies wasn't really a good way for him to go, I would have liked more clown-ness and craziness from him during the battle but whatever. xD

:awesome:

I don't remember it being very challenging but I still loved the part leading up to the fight, the fight in general and the aftermath so by that regards I would say he was a pretty successful final boss and villain regardless of how easy he was.

Yeah, unfortunately back then it was tradition for the final boss to turn into a giant monstrous looking thing and die.

Yeah. Like X-Death and Zeromus. D:

Well I guess I really don't have to say too much on the subject to get my opinion across... Still the battles prelude involved the entire cast with slight exception to the few optional characters. If you were not overly buffed Kefka was a challenge but then again being under buffed was hard unless you rushed the game.

The main thing I think that makes Kefka's battle special beyond simply the great presentation is the fact that you are the only ones to have faced this brand of evil before when it was weak and then at the height of its power. Kefka is not the big bad for the first half of the game, and he runs as often as he fights.
When he finally fights you at full power you have no idea the extent of his power except what you saw him do to the world. This little thing makes him just a bit more intimidating because you got to see what that little coward did with all the power he stole and you could have stopped him earlier but he just weaseled his way through despite your efforts. He feared for his life in the first half (even if he was scripted to get away but come on... It's part of the story!)

JUST LOOK AT THIS SUMMARY OF OTHER MAIN BOSSES IF YOU WANT BY HIGHLIGHTING IT!!! (Note: Did not list the online games because I did not play them...)

Chaos all versions sealed but already powerful (though that is debatable depending on how you view Garland),

Dark and Light Emperor already powerful,

Cloud of Darkness appeared powerful,

Xeromus was sealed powerful,

X-Death sealed powerful,

Sephiroth started powerful (Slightly debatable as defeated in flashback but not by player),

Ultimecia sealed powerful, (Slightly debatable as possesses Edea!)

Kuja/Necron crazy powerful,

Jecht/Yu Yevon one is powerful the other is singular in being weak unless possessing an Aeon which is a power of a sort since he possesses Jecht but does not appear solely before that one encounter!

Shuyin/Vecnagun powerful before you fight them.

Vayne/Novus/Undying powerful before you fight him.

Omega Wiess already powerful.

Genisis already powerful.

Zirconiade already powerful.

Feolthanos Exultant already powerful.

Orphan already powerful.

Ultima sealed and already powerful.

Li-Grim already powerful.

Neukhia already powerful (though it can be slightly debated that it is also partly Illua who could contend but barely).

Raem/Memoria already powerful.

Galdes/Great Galdes already pretty powerful.

Dark Lord already powerful.

Larkeicus already powerful.

King Leo... As powerful as he is likely to get in this game...

Jegran already powerful.

Julius... Uh... (I honestly can't say by experience but seriously I bet he was powerful)...

Dark King already powerful.

Creator from both games... With a name like that guess...

Apollo/Arsenal yep powerful already.

The Destroyer powerful already and sealed away.

Guildenstern already powerful.

See... Not a single one is clearly as wimpy to start and few if any of them battle you as a weaker form as often (Not counting that pre-change fight many of them have as human) before the change to big bad...

Wow. I never thought of that. But, yeah. He does run and stuff a lot. I never saw it as a sign of weakness though, I saw it as a sign that he was smart enough to know that sometimes you need to run. You know, and the fact that he usually leaves other people to do his dirty work. I saw this all as a sign of power and strength, just not in the way that the rest of the villians showed it. And because of this, like you said, he was able to weasel out of most things, and get more and more powerful. He showed that his lust for power and his intelligence were more powerful and destructive than the world could handle. He really is scary... I never thought of it in quite this way before. D:

I hope that made sense... You know?

I was expecting him to be much harder to be honest, just recently completed the game again for the first time in a few years and faced him at level 48-51 and he is far to easy.. shame really because they could have made a much better challenge.. I actually found the forms before the final form harder..

He's too easy. Coming up to him and struggling on the four goddesses, I thought that I was going to head up to Kefka and get creamed so badly, I'll be too embarrassed to re-play the game for years to come. But I managed to get passed him without too much effort, and even though was thankful and glad to get passed the game, he didn't really feel like much of a final villian, it was more like "hi I'm here, I don't like you so I'll show you how ugly i would look if i was a monster ". " whoops I'm dead now, bye " ! :jtc:

I thought Kefka would be real hard. Hopefully if they ever makre a remake in 3d for ff6, they'd make him a bit harder. Atually, I'd like it if they prolonged the game with more quests and made bosses a little harder.

Kefka wasn't hard at all for me but it didn't help that I grinded my butt off quite a bit but my level wasn't even that high, around 40-45ish to be exact. I heard that was around the normal level to fight him at but he went down a bit too quickly in my opinion in each form. I only got a chance to see one of his special attacks.

I defeated Kefka a minute ago and he was way too easy.
At first he was impossible. My characters were somewhere around the 43th level.
I restarted the battle and at the final battle I got 4 spell-casting characters. I was totally pissed off and I started spamming Ultima. After 8 Ultimas he was defeated. He didn't do any damage.

Similar experience except instead of Ultima Spamming, i used Terra, who has the Ragnarok (it casts flare or merton randomly, i forget), anyways yeah. Terra is OP in my game, everyone else is kinda fail except my healer/Damage hybrid (Celes).

I thought he was a funny final boss. I could never take him seriously while fighting, though. Even thought the fight was semi-hard.

It's funny, he's one of my favorite villains but he's not a very serious one. I just don't get how he's evil(besides poisoning those people that one time)besides that he just didn't say "super villain" to me.

I kinda thought he was trying too hard to be evil but there was always something missing.

He's not nice, but he definitely isn't a Sephiroth or somethin', that's for sure.

Don't think I'm bashing him, because I'm not. Him and Sephiroth are my two fav villains and I love them(Kelfka more)I can just admit he's not as evil of a villain as others, that's all.

Kefka not evil? that is the first time I've heard anyone say that. Poisoning those people was far more evil then anything Sephiroth did. He also killed all those Espers while laughing about it. Used his lighning on towns. He really doesn't have any redeeming qualities like Sephiroth other then he told jokes. The guy enjoyed what he did. I think the only other Final Fantasy villain that compares to him is Hojo as far as being pure evil.

Fighting Kefka in the final battle, i SERIOUSLY over leveled. Before going to Kefka`s tower, I did leveling in the dinosaur forest (the forest shaped like a dinosaur head) where the T-Rex casts meteor a lot. I remember when I fought Kefka, Sabin was at level 80+ and the rest of the party was in the 70s at least. I don`t remember him causing me too much trouble though being at levels that high.

Easy to beat, but he was definitely the best villain ever. Pure evil. He was just a nobody and managed to become a god and destroy the world because of his fuckedupness. Amazing.

I tend to get lazy in RPGs where there's a"skip battle"option...Not that I hate the battles, neccessarily,it's just fun to freely explore the world. It inevitably leads to grinding.

This happened the first time I played FFVI;I used Mog's Charm too much, was just in the thirties level wise, yet somehow,SOMEWAY,managed to get past Kefka's Tower and the Three Gods.

Kefka crushed me though;I couldn't get past the second teir of the tower. So I grinded for Ultima in the cactaur desert(I focused on this as opposed to levels),eventualy gave it to 6-7 characters, and went back to pwn him with my flawless Ultima+elixir strategy.

I think the the battle had just the right ammount of difficulty, then;it was hard to keep everybody alive, but a few Ultimas was all it would take to bring a form down.

Haven't had much trouble on the fight since(I won, btw).

Urr, as a final boss he was annoying but it was exciting! It was really entertaining.
I found him tough at first, but it's just fun!

Kefka as a final boss was an epic battle.

You go around chasing this guy all game, watching his evil actions, his massacres, his destruction and how he took joy in watching others' pain. The last battle gives you that one last chance to put an end to it once and for all.

It's a tough battle, even if you have 4 really strong characters to sick on him during the first wave of the fight. Just make sure you have a few back-up strong characters just in-case so that if one of your main chars goes down, the replacement isn't going to get kicked to East Jesus Nowhere after one hit.
