Huge guy on the Arch Steppe

Who is that huge guy walking around on the archylytte steppe? Do you get to fight him? Kinda looks like he is on fire.

That is Titan, a Pulse Fal'cie. You cannot fight him at any point in the game. Some of the Ci'eth missions are provided through him however.

I am so very glad Titan is not an enemy you can battle...he makes Sin look like a Tonberry by size comparison. Although I would like to slash his fingers off, to stop him putting extremely difficult marks in front of me at the Faultwarrens...

I'm glad somebody posted this thread. My friend had wondered if I could fight the big guy also. I told him I wouldn't even if I could. The adamantoise can still kill me with one stop so I wouldn't be able to stand a chance against Titan. X-x

Yes, and thankfully. Think about it, Titan literally EATS Adamantoises! The things that can kill you in ~3-4 hits.
