Seriously

My charger is dead and the usb cable isnt working. I feel like Ive lost a limb when my phone is out of action for whatever reason and I know I'm not the only one. How reliant are you on your mobile? Would you be screwed without it? I rely on it for everyhting, I use it for music as well, i can't go out WIOTHOUT MUSIC PLUGGED INTO MY HEAD

How the CHUFF did we cope before this glorious invention?

OMG I know what you're going through at the moment.

I've had my phone for around two years now and just recently after coming off the plan it's started to play up on me.

It's constantly dying and even though I've bought new batteries it still does it. I think there is something wrong with the actual phone.

Oh and I've just changed from a plan over to prepaid and am in the process of setting up another account for prepaid, and so I'm waiting on the company I signed up with to send out the new SIM card.

Anyway, today I go to ring my parents and it tells me that I have insufficient credit. Then I try texting. It sends me a message back saying the same thing.

I knew I had credit, so I ring to check my balance and it tells me I have $50 of usage left. So I try a million other times and it's still doing it and then I check my account online and it also says that I have $50 left. :gonk:

We have no way of contacting anyone because Steve has no credit either because we're both waiting for our new SIM cards. Only then will we have credit again. :gonk:

I'm far too reliant on my phone. I freak out if I don't have it with me at all times and freak out even more if it's not working. >.<

I don't rely on my cell phone at all. It basically just sits in my bag the entire time, and gets charged when need be.

I used to use my phone a lot, for texting and such like, but I'm not into that anymore really. I also used to use it for listening to music, but now that I have an MP3 player that's all settled.

I wouldn't be lost at all if I lost or broke my cell phone, but I'd feel less dependable because people can call me whenever. Plus, I wouldn't have it for if I needed to call someone immidiately.

You were using the old 'Ghetto Blasters' in your day, weren't you?

It's not like that at all for me. I rarely ever use my mobile, as there is no point as people have little reason to ring me or text me, and I don't have many peoples numbers saved on my phone anyway. I never really got into the whole phone thing, which is another front I need to improve at.

For music I use my ipod, so I don't need my phone for that either...

In fact the most I ever use my phone in one go is if I'm getting a haircut and waiting for my turn and then I wack out my phone and play Ape Escape (yes, Ape Escape on my phone!) and help kill the time.

That said, I'd feel naked without it if I left the house... I always check it when I'm out of the house, seeing if there is anything important popping up but most of the time / all of the time there isn't at all. I just take my mobile with me in case there is an emergency of some kind.

When I'm at home I just throw it on the table or keep it in my coat pocket, and there it stays until the next time I leave the house. There's no point in carrying it around the house with me as nothing ever happens. I have however missed some messages in the past like this, but it is very very rare.

Sad really, I feel sorry for it. :sad2:

I should probably use it more, but texting myself gets a bit sad and Mr. Bean'ish after a while.

well, the power button on my phone, broke, so if it died, i would be screwed, and now i have to not use it that much, or else it will become a very expensive paper weight, so it went from being a lifeline, to something that just lays around on the charger all day

Hehe, my phone is always off. Its for me to use to contact people, not the other way around. Until I get one with a proper keyboard or a touch-screen so I can text properly quickly, its going to stay that way as well.

I don't think I'd be hugely bothered, it'd be more of an inconvenience if anything. I don't really use mine a whole lot, the only time I do is when I need to text my mum/dad, when texting back saying I can play 5aside and when texting my girlfriend. The latter I do a lot more than the others. I just see everyone in my contact list at college everyday anyway and most of them will be on Facebook at one point in the day so a phone isn't a huge deal to me :wacky:

I h8 u xD

well, it randomly decided to charge, so Im gunna try to turn it on... AND IT WORKS :rage: Ive got like 7 months left on this contract as well, theres no WAY its gunna hold out that long :gonk: Why oh why didnt I take out insurance. Oh thats right I THOUGHT I WOULDNT NEED IT EVEN THOUGH I DROPPED IT DOWN THE BOG NOT 3 WEEKS AFTER GETTING IT....

It's no wonder its doing nowt but acting up really.....

I cant even leave the house without it, I was lat to work more than once for forgetting my phone and doing a U turn to go get it. I rely on it FAR too much

Of course the down side to having a phone at all times is when you're driking

I have to brace myself before checking my outbox the morning after...I really wouldnt mind being phoneless then......

I don't have a land line, so I rely on mine for everything phone-related. That being said, I'll go days without ever touching the thing, most weekends I won't give it a second glance. But if I get called in to work, they call my cell phone, so it's under my pillow at night (vibrate > ringtone at 6:15 in the morning). And for reffing, generally everything we do is handled online, as far as game assignments. But if there's an emergency, we need to be reachable by phone. For example, last year I got called at 10 AM by our booking agent to do a playoff game 2 hours away, that started at 6 PM.

And then of course it's my line to my family members, coworkers, and friends.

So yeah, I rely on it quite a bit, actually.

My phone, like my watch, is something that I just have to have with me, otherwise I feel lost and naked. I don't really use my phone that much anymore, but I like to have it there with me should the need to use it arise.
At the end of the day, I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I keep my phone with me just for the heck of it. I bring it along even if I am not going to use it, because I prefer keeping close possessions with me wherever I go. I don't actually use my phone that much actually. I do the occasional texting, but I prefer to contact my friends using my laptop because it's cheaper for me that way.

Plus, I'm not the sort of person who needs to see and talk to my friends every day. I usually prefer to keep weekends to myself unless there are occasions such as a cinema outing. I'll see them in college on weekdays anyway.

Examining my life as it is now, I don't think I would be in absolute peril without my cellphone. I live with my mom so we have a land line plus her own cellphone, so that's three lines including my own cell phone, and I still have email to use.

But for the last 3 years where I had to keep in contact with my classmates and in the last year my work and internship, I would be oh so screwed without it. My course required interviewing a lot of people and more often than not I had to wait for people to call me back, so having a phone on the go helped a lot. I remember I did an interview at the mall while in the middle of my own shopping xD

But I admit that because I'm so used to having a cellphone and the sense of security it gives, I would feel a tad vulnerable without it. I take it with me whenever I leave the floor of my condo, even if it's just to throw recyclables downstairs >.<

Well, I am reliant on my cell phone so much as it is my primary phone for everything; business, school, personal. I have a land line, but I don't use it because all I got were calls from telemarketers. I do have it, though, in case of emergencies and if my phone does die.

My cellular device does come in handy so I do like to have it on me just in case even if im not texting or whatever I have to have it on me if im going somewhere. My phone hardly ever dies or anything but I do tend to lose it a lot :wacky: I use to use it more when I first got it but now it's like just there XD.

I only use mine for emergencies and an occasional text or two.

I wasn't worried about not having a phone before but there were a number of situations where i needed one and i didn't. I don't like being in that situation, there are only a number of things i can do without my cell. But i carry it on me all the time so i don't worry about that anymore.

I wont go through the amount of times this has happened or Ive ran out of credit and no money, or the shop wasnt open, etc. Its daft cause I didnt get a phone till I was 17 and all my mates were around me, so communciation wasnt bad. But when I got into a relationship and more friends, then yeah panic sets in!

I rarely use my phone anyway so not having it for a short time would not bother me too much. The most use it gets out of me is as a watch and occasionally a call or two. Ironically though it seems as though whenever I don't have my phone in my possession everyone decides to call me.

I use my phone for an alarm and an occasional phone call, but that's it. That's actually pretty much all it does, too, so I guess it works out that I don't really need it for anything else  I always feel bad when I hear about people losing the newer phones that have all their data, mp3s, photos, etc. in them, though--that's got to be really frustrating :( I'll probably be in the same boat when I get a new one.

Without Cellphones the world would end!!!! Haha, or at least be a treacherous thing to get used to. Man have these new phones spoiled us. Cameras, multimedia messaging, texting, internet, e-mail... all of this right in our pocket.
