I was in the mall a few hours ago, and there was a woman in Gamestop who looked around 20, who was wearing some outrageously awesome Rikku cosplay. I walked up to her and said "Wow, your cosplay of Rikku is amazing!" then she looks at me oddly and says "Wth are you talking about? o_O" then I say "You're cosplaying Rikku from Final Fantasy X, right?" as I began to get nervous. She then responded with "What's Final Fantasy?" As I attempted (and failed) at explaining about Final Fantasy X, she thought I was being offensive and left.

I was apparently offending her casual clothing attire that involves a red leather tanktop with a turtle neck, and various armbands. She had the yellow belt and the blond hair up and everything.

Seriously, that would be awkward. :p but hey, if she looked like it, she looked like it.

And you didn't take a picture? :ahmed:

Well I actually usually DO take my camera everywhere I go, but I honestly didn't think of taking a picture. It would have looked creepy if I was taking a picture of her as well, there was a bunch of other people in the store.

*embarrassing

Oh wow XD I've never done that before but it sounds like something I'd do! Omg that must have been so awkward for her. She's probably looking up who Rikku is from final fantasy X lol

Sorry, but you went too far. Should have stopped before the "explaining Final Fantasy X", then you probably could have still played it cool.

you should have bent her over

and showed her why it's wrong to dress like final fantasy character

it's like asking for unwanted sex :monster:

I think you're all forgetting just how serious this situation is.

A woman who looks like Rikku and dresses like Rikku is running around >.>

My Yevon, the characters of Final Fantasy X are coming to life!

Hahahaha I love when that kind of stuff happens.. That is so funny. I would be right embarassed, especially because the words "Final Fantasy" sound pretty stupid if you've never heard them before. Did your face get red?

Something like this actually happened to me last night. I was at this party and I went up to this dude who I thought was someone I knew named Mike. I haven't seen Mike in quite a while because he lives far away and is kind of a distant relative so when I went up to him I was like "MIKE!! WHAT'S UP!?" and then he goes "my names Julian." I covered it up by saying "No, MY name is Mike. I thought you asked." (my name actually is Mike too) but I don't think he or any of the other people standing there bought it. It was way over the top and I was also a bit drunk.

She's probably looking up who Rikku is from final fantasy X lol

ahaha omg she definitely is. aahhh I love this.

:tl;dr:

It's not like I was just going to run away after being partially unsure if I was humiliated or not. If she wasn't in a GAMESTOP store, I probably wouldn't have asked her. As soon as I said exactly this "You look shockingly just like a girl named Rikku from a game called Final Fantasy X..." Then she just totally went red and I was probably redder than a stop sign as she just looked confused... I should have told her to wait there, and looked for a Final Fantasy X case on the PS2 shelf (there usually would be one) and showed her it. (and told her to buy it)

I guess I was feeling confident to explain until it went completely downhill?

I would've tried to pull it off like I was using Bluetooth or something...

I work in a mall and customers come in all the time- I think I'm having a conversation with them until they say "hold on.... Do you need something??"

I feel your pain. xD

Everybody's inferred it already, but I'm just gonna come out and say it - she probably thought you were talking about a porn game.

I mean, come on? How would "Final Fantasy X" sound to you if you were unfamiliar with the series?
Plus, did you say "ten" or "ex"?

I would've just been like 'oh shit its Rikku!'and ask for an autograph jus for kiks lol.. hmm thts actually a good idea..

Did she have the goggles too?

Perhaps she'd just wandered out of a sort of steampunk convention, or something like that. She might have been pretending that she was a sort of pilot or airship pirate.

That, or she may have just dressed like that because she does. If she had something other than Rikku's shorts, boots and crazy gloves then I can imagine that it is possible that some girls may wear a similar top and hairstyle.
