Personally, I would love 2 have more games on FFVII just because I love the story and characters. But just as long as there is more to the story line and not just the same mundane line.
 
I think they should stop with these "ideas" and stuff and leave it to OUR imaginations what happens or has happened and stop being such money laundering whores.

I too feel your pain. FFVII was an incredible game...story, gameplay, the graphics at the time were mindblowing....then rumors started surfacing about a FF movie (Spirits Within...which was a joke) and that was the beginning of the end for this classic Square game. I'm not sure they have ever made so many spin offs from one single game. I think Advent Children was the best things that has come out of this whole mess. Either way...I think the whoring out of the Final Fantasy name says one thing about SE...they have run out of ideas. Or they have a bad batch of game designers, writers etc. It's easy to build on a story that has already been written as opposed to writing a whole new story/game. And as stated in another thread...it's sad, because now there is a new generation who are starting to play these "games" (Dirge of Cerebus etc.) who have no idea what the original FFVII is! The best way Square could fix this is to put all of their efforts into a remake of the original FFVII. Don't change the story...just spiff everything up and stick it on both the 360 & PS3...give these kids who don't know what the game is a chance to see it. Then they need to never touch it again. Let it rest...they don't need to keep creating mini games off of it...the fans will keep it alive.
 
Not very many people mention FFVI though...
Unfortunately for me, I never got to play much of it, but FFVI was a really wonderful game. And I've heard nothing but good things about the first FFs.
FFVII was a really great game, but IMO FF has recently started going sour...

When FFVIII came out, I thought...wtf is this. No moogles? I have to have a pocketstation to do chocobo sidequests? A super highpowered space ship?
No. No. Sorry, no fantasy in that.

FFIX started bringing the fantasy back. Magic, moogles, chocobos, summons, love, romance, beautiful music, and a variety of cool ships...that game had it all.

FFX was alright. I have no complaints about it. It wasn't the best game in the series. The only thing that bugged me was that you couldn't fly over the world map.

FFXII...God...If I wanted to play online games, I wouldn't have a PS2. Nothing about this game was interesting to me.

Something tells me, based on what I've seen in FFXIII, it's going to be more futuristic than fantasy-based.
 
It seems that square-enix is going over board with the whole compilation thing. The worst part is that most of those games(dirge of cereberus) are utter crap. The only thing good that came out of it was FF VII: AC. Hopefully SE will stop the whole sequal prequal thing and just leave FF VII alone before they tarnish its glory.
 
Im not sure whether Square should bring out FF7 again *updated*. Partly because i think it would be cool to see the new graphics etc. but once the novelty of that wore off we would be playing the game again on a different console and we would be thinking ' why did i even buy this?' This may destroy the hype towards FF7 from FF fans...

I agree, because then it would ruin a lot and possibly even bring fans down as well.

I personally would love to see a remake done of FFVII but that's it. I really don't want to see anything else. I don't want to see a sequel to Dirge of Cerberus, I don't want to see any of that. I'm just tired of all Spin-offs. Advent Children was enjoyable and I'm glad they made that because it was great to see the characters we love in those graphics and I'm much looking forward to Crisis Core, but c'mon Square. Enough is enough already.
 
I'm really quite surprised by all the negativity towards the VII spin offs, for my part, I love them.

Im a VII fanboy (fanman?) and the more SE is willing to let me visit that world the more I'll throw my hard earned cash at them.

Also, I really don't think sequels/prequals cheapen the original. If you want to regard VII as 'pure', then do so (don't buy any of the other games...its that simple!!!). For example, I regard Highlander as one of the best films I've seen, IMO the sequels and series were dreadfull but that does not make Highlander any less of a classic, same goes for Alien, the original Star Wars trilogy and hundreds of other examples!
 
I don't agree at all..if they do something else that has to do with FF7 I won't mind. And if it completely sucks it still won't change the fact the I love the original. ;)
 
My biggest peeve is that FFVII had a really great thing going with the theory that all men would be elimnated with the white materia.
But AC ruined that theory. =[
 
no matter what square does,, i'll play it over and over again:D

i know sequels or remakes will loose the novelty of the original, but square wouldn't do it for nothing,,

maybe be there something in those sequels that square wants every gamer to know, achieve or anythings maybe. well thats what i think. peace! :D
