Well... I now have my first job. I am going to be a professional video game blogger/reviewer for Rebel Gaming. I start next Saturday. It's going to be my first legitimate job, and I can do two things I love. Writing and gaming. :) I am super happy right now! XD

So like...you get paid and everything??

Do you get paid? If not, then it's not really a job, it's just voluntary work.

At 15, impressive! Congratulations, Jeri! I hope you have fun and that it's a great learning experience. This will look great on a resume. =]
 
Ooh, congrats! It's definitely leagues ahead of my first job and the debilitating effect that had on my ability to remain patient with people.

I think a good strategy is to be as negative, sensational and inflammatory in your articles/reviews as you can. That's usually a good way to earn plenty of clicks. It doesn't matter if it pisses people off, so long as the website gets extra hits. That's usually all that matters! :dave:
 
Are you getting paid a lot for this? I cannot say I have ever heard of rebel gaming btw.

All you have to do is write video game news? Just make sure to proofread and it should make a very easy job.

Not gaming news, more like articles and reviews. Some examples would be me reviewing FFIX, and I could make an article like "10 Games That Have Been Forgotten". That kind of thing. :)

Sounds more fun than my first job (which was at McDonald's). I mean, I used to mow lawns for money before that, but I'm not sure that counts. :hmmm:

I enjoyed my first, but due to where I live and the time I got home (both of my parents worked between 8amish and 6:30/7pm, so I got home pretty late - my school was too far away for me to catch a bus, and none come to where I live anyway ;))) I didn't have a job until later. :sad3: Whilst growing up, I often wished I could have a job like yours! =)
 
At 15 I was still a paperboy.

This job of yours sounds incredible. Congratulations, Jeri! I'm sure you'll do a grand job at it. You're miles ahead of many people your age. :argor:
 
is 15 a legal age to be working at? i suppose writing a blog isn't exactly what you'd typically call a job, so it probably falls outside normal employment laws
 
You can work at 15 but theres certain restrictions on pay etc i think :hmmm:. Not 100% but I know a few guys who started their apprenticeship at 15.

Either way congrats. Best thing about your first job is your first pay. It blew my mind when i got mine. Had never saw that much money in my life. Even though it wasnt much :lew:
