I have been following the Final Fantasy XIII - 2 game for a while now and I am worried about something...

Do you guys think that Noel and Serah are the only playable characters through the main storyline?

Of course there is Lightning who is playable, and Snow and Hope make appearances. But from the trailers and interviews I have looked at, I can only see the characters I mentioned...

I didn't play Final Fantasy X - 2 because of the fact I was stuck with 3 characters until I gave it up. To me it creates a much too focused storyline, which can be good, but in my experience has been bad.

So, is anybody able to clarify?

And, I've heard a lot of talk about Final Fantasy XIII Verses, could somebody explain this game to me as what we know of now?The trailers didn't really make me understand the battle system or playable characters.

I was a big fan of FF13, people say its linear, but I didn't care because the story amazed me. I thought of it as watching a really long film rather than playing a game.

Thanks a lot if somebody helps

People who got the game early confirm that only Serah and Noel are playable, plus 150 monsters and guests. Lightning is only playable at one moment.

Well don't worry about the diversity gameplay wise. There are 150 monsters to collect and fully customize and you can even fuse them to make stronger monsters.

I don't see why a 2-player party is that bad. Many RPGs only have 1 playable character and they are still decent.

Just play the game first before deciding whether that is a good thing for you or not.

I don't think a 2 character playable party would be a bad thing either. It keeps you from having to keep up with 6 different characters upgrades, classes and such like that all I once. (like in FinalFantasy13, and it can get pretty crazy trying to get to a point where every character is up to par!) So I don't see it being something that would affect the game negatively. :-)
