Before you read.... SPOLIER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT!!!
Don't say i didnt warn you!!!!

Ok I'm not sure that there is a thread like this yet...I havnt seen one so if there is sorry and you can close this one...

But am I the only one that seems to think that the villians in this game should never of been in the same story?

Shinra is like...an electric company thats gone mad with power right??? I mean thats what they were in the original VII.... they expanded on that in the other VII games... but think about this...

An electric company...goes mad with power....sucks life out of the earth...has its own science lab doing experiments on their trained soldiers.... and declare war on nations that dont want to use there electric or let them build there electric towers on their land....

Then you have Sephiroth... who finds out that an electric company did experiments on him so he goes insane kills everone to get to this over 1000 year old thing that he claims is his mother...which if he had half a brain he would realise that cant be cause...Shes over 1000 years old.... and to top it all off she was a freak of nature trying to destroy the planet.... enough said...

Now Hojo...good old Hojo... where to begin.... He experiments on his future son thats in his wife still...to make an ultimate soldier for an electric company that wants to take over the world with money and towers that drain the life out of the planet...and he goes insane by wanting to give his son all the power he wants in the end by shooting a cannon of a light beam that his part of the planet...oh yes the Electric company built its own huge ass cannon that shoots out a laser.... and well he turns into a monster using the cells from a 1000 year old ugly ass monster.... and you kill him

Then we have the Turks... special forces or cia....not sure which...they recruit soldiers for the electric company...well at the same time covering up all there mis-dealings, kidnapping people for them, blowing up whole cities, and hunting down anyone that there hired to hunt down...while at the same time figuring out what in the world Sephiroth..who was supose to be dead but is somehow alive thanks to his 1000 year old mothers cells.... is up to...

So... where in the world did this game ever make logic???

I like this game dont get me wrong...but playing it very recently again...i realise that this story makes absolutly no since!!!!

Now that I read this...

The way you interpret makes the game sounds less logical. I like FFVII too, but yeah, in every FF game, things just don't make sense. In FFVII, it would have been more logical if there was no Sephiroth. But then again, without Sephiroth, there will be no FFVII fanboys, no offence. FFVII could have been labelled as the worst FF.

So after all, it's best for the villains set-up to be that way, since it proves successful in the first place.

how is that not related? for the most part you found a way to show the connections of most of the villains. Shina is an electric power company that wants to take over the world. they have an army. in that army is a soldier that found out what made him special: experiments. and in we have hojo the brain behind them.
the Turks clean up certain parts of the process
and jenova is part of the reason why the experiments worked in the first place.

Sounds like a feasible story to me...The world is crazy bro.

It is worth remembering that any large corporation will end up having extensive research divisions, regardless of what business they are in. Google for example is the largest bioinformatics company in the world, and most people would not even know they have a division like that in the company. As for the turks, any company that gets involved in shady practises is inevitably going to need some people willing to operate outside the law with discretion.

How does the story not make sense? it makes sense to me. it's actually very detailed... so what is illogical to you? I am very confused here. :hmmm:

Yes, twas what I was gonna say.

Resident Evil - Umbrella Pharmaceuticals/cosmetics... that create bioweapons for war :mon:

Emmy pretty much sums it up. Its not so odd.

What did I just read?
All you did was briefly outline the villains and their connections and then say it's dumb because it's not connected...

Okay, my turn.

"Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father. How does that make any kinda sense? That's just dumb."

Do I win the stupid award? No, no I think I got 2nd place.
