This is for things you were close to getting in life but you missed them by this much. It could be anything from getting a game to getting a promotion but didn't cause you missed it by that much.

I remember on the last day of my junior year, i was going to ask this girl i was talking to for awhile for her number but as the words were coming out of my mouth, the bell rang. So it didn't happen and i couldn't have asked her for it during or after class because she had to go to work.

What are your experiences? Feel free to share

I was just on ebay and I was waiting for the last minutes before I placed my bid.

Then I started to browse other pages and came back and was like: 0_0

The bidding had ended. >.< I was too late. =(

So I had to message the seller and ask if they would relist it and do a buy it now price.

I could have got it for $5 but now I have to pay $8 plus $12 postage. v_v

I suppose I still got it in the end, but not the way I wanted. >.<

I missed out on getting into the Critical Thinking class in college by .1 of a percent. xD

Basically, they took the top 25 people based on their GCSE scores into that class, my average was 6.2, and my friend who got into the class had an average of 6.3. Luckily it was a shit class and everyone hated it. Thank god for my PE GCSE, it lowered my average so much :wacky:

Critical Thinking was never really that kind to me anyway. I just missed out on getting an A grade in that subject by ONE mark (I received 54/75). And where did I lose that one mark that could have propelled me to A?

I put down the wrong conclusion of a piece of text- the absolute opposite of what I should have been putting down. It was embarrassing when the teacher announced that everyone got that first question right- other than one. It could be clearly seen that this one person is me :gonk:

My experience occurred near the end of my high school career, as I was pursuing acceptance into the United States Coast Guard Academy. I was accepted into the school with no problem as I was one of the top students in my graduating class. However, I had to sweat out six months' worth of physical examinations to determine whether I was fit for military service. This had been a goal of mine since I was just a kid, and being accepted into the school was something that I looked forward to my entire adolescent life. Just as I was finishing up my preparation for graduating and reporting for boot camp, I received a letter informing me that due to a small issue in one of my eyes, I was unable to be deemed fit for military service.

Everything has worked out fine since then and life has gone on, but it was devastating at the time. So close, yet so far away..

Missing things by an inch has happened to me on an almost daily basis throughout the first semester. The trains I can get home are spaced in roughly half-hour intervals. One is at 56 minutes past the hour, the other at 33 minutes past the hour. Lectures and seminars finish at 50 minutes past the hour...mad dash to get to the train station to get the train home usually ended in my seeing the train leave the station without me on it...

I've missed my transit bus far too often during college. I've lost count the amount of times I saw the bus speeding away from the stop I was only a few feet from Dx

Happened yesterday, went to buy milk last night. I see the last one right in front of me, though i saw a elderly couple that were eyeing it, so i let them take it instead. 3 years ago, i went to this sporting event can't remember exactly what it was, but there was this tattoo booth there. I remember i wanted a tattoo for the longest time, so i went to it. I got there too late and they closed up because they ran out of ink. =/

Other than that, it's just the bus -_-

Well, in my Freshman year off highschool, I was in powerlifting. Of course, thoughout the season I was trying to drop my weight class so that I had a more likely chance of going to regionals. (I was like in the 148 weight class?) something like that. Anyways, my coach had said that i'd have a spot in the regionals if i went down to the 132 weight class.

On the day of weigh ins I was doing handstands, running, going up and down the stairs (and I even) weighed butt-naked.

I was not even half a pound over -__-
I even starved myself :gasp:

It was horrible D:

but the following year, I went to regionals :monster:

I went to take the test for my driver's license nearly a year ago is when this story takes place. I have to admit I was really nervous however I practiced my butt off and even had a hard time sleeping that night. When it came to actually taking the test, I did well until the parallel parking portion came up. As a bit of a heads up, here you have 3 minutes to park and you have to be 12 inches from the curb in order to pass. Now I made the mistake of turning too early so it threw me off schedule. I still had some time left though so I thought I could fix it. I attempted to fix it and unfortunately my time ended so wherever I stopped at would determine if I pass or fail. It turns out I missed the requirement by 1 inch, yes 1 freaking inch, so I failed.
