I don't have a set-in-stone title yet; "ciphra Fabula" (roughly "zero Tale") is a tentative title. This will be a series of four (4) volumes/books (and a smaller midseries entry), if successful.

This ties into the Final Fantasy mythos, explaining how the current universe was created, and focusing on where it all started. I'm attempting to steer away from fanfic-like, even though it clearly fits in there to some degree. My aim is for dark, deep, desperate, "edgy", gritty, and grounded.

This is something I've been working on for the past year or so, and I've finally gotten it just right. But before I go into great detail about it, I'd like to know if anyone is interested in something like this.

I'll definitely respond to any inqueries or questions.

:hmmm:

Would this be something Dissidia-like? As in, Canon characters from other FF's appear?

Hell, we are talking about an FF universe and not our own, right?

Also, you mention you have it "just right"...

Does this mean the roleplay will not allow freedom for other RP'ers characters to develop, or does it give us breathing space?

That's it for the moment, thanks. :lew:

I'm curious to see how this is done as well, do we go with canonical characters? Or can we make our own that matches with the worlds of FF?

- Nothing like Dissidia at all, actually. Characters should be original/original-ish. (If you want to make them loosely-based on FF characters, that's fine.)

- As far as the "FF universe", it "spawned" from this series. You'll understand more once I provide all of the information.

- There will be plenty of freedom for character development. I'm providing the world and guidelines. Where we go from there is all for the imagination.

Like I said to Cookie McGee, characters should be original/original-ish. If you want to make them loosely-based on FF characters, that's fine.

My plan is to get the core of the information up by the weekend. Look forward to that. ^_^

Until then, feel free to inquire here.

Is this going to relate to any specific ff game, or a group of them mashed together, or its own world just using objects and characters from ff games?

Also what type of setting will it fit. More futuristic like in XIII, fantasy like the classics, or somewhere in between like in XII?

- This will not tie in to any one game, and I'm trying to avoid a mish-mash of elements as well. Maybe "subtle references" to the series is the appropriate term/wording?

- Volume I will be medieval/relating to FFTactics and FFIV, volume II will relate to FFXII's setting, volume III relates to FFXV's setting, and the final volume will be more dystopian (somewhat relating to FFXIII's setting). (There will also be a smaller, midseries entry between volumes II and III, and that'll relate more to FFX's setting.)

Also, the first post has been updated with the new number of volumes.

If anyone is at all interested in this, let me know. I have a lot of time on my hands this weekend, so I could possibly get a sign-up/info thread (with enough interest).
