If they were to make a movie

If they made a FFX movie, would you go see it?

That's not true. There are some really great game movies. Like Doom, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, or lets say ADVENT CHILDREN.

Those are really good game movies....as long as they're done right.
As long as SE does an FF movie right with the actors, storyline, director, etc, the movie will be good.

Just look at what SE did with Spirits Within. They went from that piece of shit movie to Advent Children. SE is capable of ANYTHING.

I have yet to see a good game movie. Resident Evil was a JOKE. Resident Evil is suppose to be about "Survival Horror." Not some souped up women running around using karate on zombies. Soon as I saw her kill Nemesis with a few kicks and punches, I turned the movie off. They had to drop a nuke on that guy to kill him in the game.

I'd love to see some Final Fantasy movies, just not of the games. If they make them of the games, I feel like I've accomplished nothing by beating it. Why bother with the games when I can just get the movie? Go back to Spirits within and improve from there with original stories. This also makes me wonder why they haven't made Final Fantasy novels... -Places fingers on chin and looks up to the sky.-

Hell, even Advent Children wasn't that great. It had us right up bored throughout the entire movie up until the fight with Sepheroth and after that short fight was done with, we promptly found it boring again.

That being said, we think FFX was a terrible game, and would make an equally terrible movie. Seeing as how it has about the same plot as Godzilla, the movie would be nothing more than well... Godzilla. :mokken:

Ha! Godzilla... so true.

Advent children bored my face off. The fight scenes were great and all (being Square) but the rest was cringe worthy and at times strangely criptic.

I don't think there's a movie left in FFX. Not that I think its 'terrible' I just feel the plot was weak and would force we to take large breaks in the middle of marathon sessions because of the shudder inducing voice acting and scripting.

if they were to make a movie this day,it wouldnt work, their aware of making a movie from a 10 year old game is a garbage idea, even if its just released in japan.a movie would just ruin the X series completely, the popularity will be low due to new final fantasys coming,in fact,it will be the same plotline but with minor changes. It would be fine if there was a movie with the game released at the same time, which was 10 years ago.if it was a movie slightly b4 the plotline of X or slightly after then its pretty ok idea, but it wont attract much attention if it was made these days, maybe japan though cuz they like their own material all the time.

I would definatly support a movie, but i think that a mini series would be better, or else the movie would have to be 4 hours long. there is way too much stuff to put in 90 min or 2 hours.

I would definitely go see it at the cinema, Zanarkand's history
FFX was my favo FF title, I dont understand why many people dont like it at all
FF8 runner up
FF7 third place / overrated

OMG if they made a movie out of this game my life would be complete. I would go see it probally 10+ times and make everyone I know see it. To bad its never ganna happen though :(

I'd go and see it just to review it and talk about it with other people who've seen it. Advent Children was not good, the only enjoyment I got out of it was the novelty of seeing the characters in great CGIs and the fight between Cloud and Sephiroth. But that's it. Spirits Within is a better movie imo but that doesn't say much, it's still boring and doesn't have much to do with Final Fantasy.

I think FFX was written in a way that it should be only experienced as a game. To be frank, I did not like the story or characters (save Auron) at all. But I did enjoy the gameplay for the most part and being that it's the first Final Fantasy title to feature voice acting and top notch graphics for its time made it very memorable. (And let's not forget the breathtakingly beautiful score) So I really do think that a movie won't be as appealing.
No more FF movies imo.

EDIT: FFVII, VIII and IX had top notch graphics for their time as well.

Id wach it but only if it came out on cable tv or if I came across it online...but I think the game pretty much explains the story rather well and a movie of it is rather unecessary...

I don't know if I'd go watch it, come to think of it I don't know if it would make it to theaters. Did Advent Children even make it to theaters? I thought it only had a few private showings, but nothing major, it was mostly a DVD only release.

To answer the question yes I would buy it and it would actually be pretty cool they made a movie for FFX and/or for FFVIII. I don't know which I would rather though a cheap half assed summary of the events that take place in the game in movie format for those too lazy to play the bloody game or prequel/sequel to the existing story that is just as halfassed like AC. Regardless of whether it sucked or was awesome my money would be spent on it and I would still keep it as part of my collection. No body seems to like Final Fantasy Unlimited, but I enjoyed it and I think it would be great to own just for the sake of having it in your collection and even the experience of watching it, good or bad is worthwhile. Gives us something else to talk about with friends and on internet forums right?

i would defintly go an see it in the movies then buy it when its out on dvd or even better blu-ray. but before they do a move of X i would like to see a movie remake of IX or VIII first

I'm going to fly the FFVII: AC flag because I thought that film was brilliant. :3 This could partially be down to fangirl tendancies and the fact I hadn't played FFVII for years when I saw it, it was one hell of a good movie. :yay:

As for a FFX movie, I would be apprehensive. I would probably not pay money to go see it, and just wait for it to come on DVD or
for it to be downloadable.
Just because a FFX movie would probably be good but I don't think it would do it any justice. Of course, this would lay entirely on who does it, but I don't think it would be able to do the FFX story any justice. It ended where it did and it was perfect. Albeit FFX-2, that was just awful. :wacky: But you know, that doesn't actually exist as a part of the FF series... ;))

But yeah, all in all, I would watch it but I wouldn't have high hopes for it.

I think that we should all harass square for a movie.
BTW CHECK THIS OUT go to youtube and search ULTIMATE FFX MOVIE TRAILER.

I'd probably want to see it once just because it is FF related, however I don't think it would come across as vastly different from the cutscenes in the game unless they made it into a live action film. Which would be quite interesting, though I'm not really sure who they'd get to play the characters :hmmm:
