so your friend says this to you before going out somewhere to eat. what do you expect when they say this?

i know, kind of a weird question. but just go with it.

That they are willing to pay for part of your meal, maybe get you an appetizer or two, or buy your drinks. Not pay for it completely but get one side of something there, that would be my take on it.

Thanks. I am just curious because last year i was out with a friend and he said this but he meant the drive and he got really sore about it when i brought it up the other day and lashed out at me over some friendly ribbing lol

just wanted to make sure i was still a little sane

For me, it means I can just order whatever. But I'm probably still going to order what the fuck I always eat because it's my favorite. Sure, they're feeling generous and I can get whatever, but I'm not going to go out of my way to order a $25 meal. Nope, the same $8 meal I always get, because that's what I always get and I hate change. Yep.
