In defence for the "Laughing Scene"

I know it's suposed to be forced, but still, it's just cringeworthy and awful. I'D BE THE EXACT(grr caps) same if someone was like oh hey! lets fake laugh to make ourselved feel better! No... just no.

You'll have to skip to the end to get to the laughing scene but it's just as cringeworthy in Japanese. :wacky:

Tidus' voice actor is rather annoying in the Japanese version as well. The entire character is just irritating all around it seems (at least in my opinion). :lew:

They sound like seagulls when they laugh towards the end 8(

To think the game designers would have played through this scene a handful of times and thought it would garner a favourable reaction.

Roflcopters.

Hearing it in Japanese is just too fucking weird after playing it so many times and getting used to their english ones.
I actually think all of them sounded fine, except maybe Tidus when he was laughing (normal laughing, not forced). Auron actually sounded a little less awesome in Japanese, but maybe that's because westerners can sound a little gruffer.
Hearing Lulu with a higher chirpier voice was a treat though.

Would have loved to hear Kimahri lol.

But yeah, either way.... laughing scene = FAIL.

I still don't like the laughing scene in english or Japanese. That scene was definitely one thing that game could of done without.

i cannot forget that scene i just watched the scene going o_0 the whole entire time LOL i was embarrased for them

Before I go on FFX is one of my fave FF (2nd or fist to hard to choose) so im not a hater.........just a hater of this scene

Seriously I don't think even humans (no matter how eired) actually laugh all of a sudden..........Im not only pissed off about the terrible, horrendous laugh...........But more pissed off about why even do it?

Plus it may have been a bit more decent if Yuna and Tidus were like little kids.........I can "kind of" imagine lil kids doing this but Tidus and Yuna no way.

I think there both 17 as well...........can anyone imagine two teenagers laughing al of a sudden?

Tidus was upset about his dad being Sin, and Yuna notices his behaviour, so she starts talking about how summoners and guardians were Spira's hope and that they kind of had to put on a positive front for the sake of the people and trying to relate to Tidus'.

It's really Yuna's fault for forcing him to laugh (he just tried to smile), but then she goes onto join Tidus to spare at least some embarrassment. But it works out well when they have a fluffy moment of right after ;D

Surprisingly to myself I have nothing against this cheesy scene. It's like they barely know each other at that point and after this moment they started to interact much more and cleared that distance. When they first laugh in the boat to Kilika Island, I still piss my pants when after the embarrassment of laughing and then that chill / looking into eyes of one another, Sin suddenly appears from nowhere!!!! It's SOOO shockingly scary!

Albeit, the voice acting of Tidus and Yuna tended to be pretty awful, but...

I agree with the OP, it was supposed to be forced. And it was also supposed to be awkward. Tidus and Yuna were falling for each other, and I thought it was actually pretty cool of Square to put in scenes like that with some awkward moments, like on the first ship when they're standing together with awkward silence and they talk about THE WEATHER. :ffs:
