which FF is the best? i cant say, ive only played FFX, and its not mine, i borrowed it! and when i give it back, i dont know weather to buy that, or maybe get FF12? which is better do you guys think!

I'm moving this to the General Discussion for Final Fantasy.

I have to say that my favorite game is Final Fantasy VII. Not just in the series but out of all the games' I've played. Best character, most depth, lots of plot and intrigue. Great game.
 
FFVII. without a doubt this games story kept me interested the longest. the fact that there are still unanswerable questions just makes me love this game even more :D its complex, its deep, and it has lots of meaning ^_^ its just perfect.

The gameplay is simple, but fantastic, i never got bored of the battles or the materia combinations :)
 
do u mean outta X and XII?? or in general?? anyway cecil said it all FFX is the greatest FF. It wins in all categories imo
 
Final Fantasy VII for me as well. ^_^
I loved the plot, loved the characters, loved the locations, loved the sidequests, loved everything about it. Even the most evil villain of all I loved for what he contributed to the game.
In my opinion, the best game that I have ever played, period.

Where exactly is it stated that FFVII is getting a remake? I won't even go onto Advent Children.

As for the thread. Final Fantasy IX was my favourite. The characters, the story, the music, and graphics are all great. A lot of people would not like this game for it's "childish" graphics but in the end the graphics are awesome. Some of the FMV's are the best I've seen in an FF game. Nice romance in the story with some good humour. I absolutely love this game. I would also give FFVII a special mention as it was the first FF I played and it really is awesome.
 
FFVII Is definitely the best game. I cant describe in words how much I love this game. When I first beat it I was at a loss for words I was just like...Wow...that was awesome. VII Beats every other game nothing touches VII in any category, story, characters, anything. Well maybe except graphics but who cares about taht.
 
Final Fantasy VIII is the best game in my opinion. I loved the gameplay, the charaters, the music, the cutscenes, the junction system, EVERYTHING. It was my first FF and no other game has yet compared to its greatness IMO
 
I would have to agree with Sorceress here. VIII had the best story of all the final fantasy games thus far, but i may just think that cause i can relate to some of the characters in VIII than any of the others

FFXII. I've stated why in other threads just like this so..and well, people know me well enough to know why I like it.
 
I've always wanted to know in depth why you like it. I just assumed you wanted to kidnap Ghis ...

For me, it goes:

IX > XII > I > X > X-2 > VIII

I've explained why I love IX on previous posts, but just read Zidane's reply, and you'll get the picture :P
 
Right now, my top picks are (in order of preference):
FFVII -- FFIX -- FFXII

FFVII is an all time classic for me. The storyline was overwhelming, and I still today can't choose my favorite character; they're all so depthful.

FFIX had a ranky battle system, I'll admit. I loved this game on account of the wonderful story line. It also had some great sidequests which were decent enough as perks.

I do actually like FFXII quite a bit. It's a little awkward and different to me, but...the more I play it, the more drawn in I seem to get. I love the battle system too.
 
Final Fantasy VIII has and always will be the best in my opinion.

A Brilliant & Well Thought Out Storyline.....

Excellent Battle System (Never became repetitive or boring)....

Excellent Characters & Supporting Cast of Characters (Realistic)....

Excellent Music....

Excellent Graphics (in it's day)....

The list goes on as I've made in several other posts. ;)
 
FF9 wins it for me. It just had everything that appeal to me. Great story, realistic characters, everything. But I still like Chrono Trigger over any Final Fantasy.
 
FF6 had the best story and is the best FF imo, too bad not many people played it. FF8 is my personal favourite though.
