So we all know that the fight between Light and Darkness rages on, most likely Chaos will return, but intead of making Dissidia II, why not just create DLC for Dissidia itself? Nomura considered adding Lightning to the mix, and now that FF XIII will be released in two days, why not just add her and other additionals as DLC? That way Dissidia lives on and not split into sequels? If they can do it via those passwords and what not, then createing DLC shouldn't be a problem, right?

Actually, DLC for it can only be created if Dissidia itself was created with support for DLC. The passworded items were already there when Dissidia was launched - Square didn't do anything but make the passwords public.

Oh really? But what about those extra Icons [FF XIII, Versus, and Agito]? Were they also included while Dissidia was in the works? That's what I meant, those passworded items or friend cards, I know are included in the game

There is just no way to add -brand new- content to a game without downloading anything on your savefile or on the data install or whatever.
Passswords don't download anything.
