So the title could use a little work. That's beside the point. I'm thinking about making an RP using the tarot cards as the somewhat main bases of the storyline and just want a quick shout out on the idea. And now, the mythology behind the story.

Myth: It has been said that in the beginning of existence, the world was created by the benevolent 21 gods. Human served idealist that yearned for a peaceful world and was granted power to bring about the peace. But none had any sort of strength to unify a chaotic warring world of Ilima. Blood ran the river as plague and famine struck the populace repeated times until the Goddess Kaisa Tarot had mercy on the living beings of the world. Betraying the other gods, She breathed life into the world and saved it from it's unknowing end.

Humans and all other being praise her as their savior and I the arbiter of destruction. I say to thou. That is a lie. For I bear the terror and the name of the Goddess Kaisa Tarot and it is I who faithfully serves her. I scattered the the might of the Goddess throughout the world and the world feared the might of the ever vengeful goddess. Feared the power of the Tarot magic that I possess. So among them, a pact was made. 21 cards was created to steal the might of Kaisa.

Through them, the fear of Tarot was ripped from me as I was killed. The elders of the past decided to take the cards away and seal them within their cities. Ages pass as castles and cities grew. Yet the magic possessed by me has leaked into the living beings of the land. Greed followed as each generations passed forgetting the fear that I ensued with the power of the Goddess Tarot and the magic of the Tarot Drives.

I say to you who yearns for the world, seek my terror and serve the goddess. I send this darkest hope to thou who lost all that is dear. Seek for the Tarot Drives and your dearest wish will be at your very command. I command those who wishes for the dimmest light, seek the drive and you will never fear the uncaring dark again.

Ideally, I'd like 6 people to join, including myself. But who knows, let's see what you guys think.
 
I always liked heavily mythological backgrounds. The tarot card idea is potentially good, with unique powers. Would these other Gods factor in??

It depends. I'm still mashing the details out. But from the looks of things, they might. But in a slightly larger scale though. And speaking about Tarot, not all 21 tarot will be used. At least half will not be used since those half is more structured on a larger scale. There won't be any race limit. But the technology will be around our time in terms of weaponry and nothing else.
 
Right now, the key points of the rp will be somewhat based around the tarot cards or 'Tarot Drives' and the god/goddess while the other part is planned into the rp so no spoilers on that front. Basically powers of the goddess herself. the setting will be based in the middle of a war between three countries.

In terms of weaponry and technology, it's mainly swords and stuff like that with magic being in short supply (i.e anyone that can use active skills) and the more modern weaponry like guns and such is only in military application for top level. So no grunts will get them for a long time and no players will be a top officer.

As for the tarot cards themselves. I limited the cards down to 11 choices. Mainly out of reason. Like the tarot card 'The World' In the tarot card terms, it mainly signifies the end of one cycle and the beginning of another when it's paired with the tarot card 'The Fool'. That in itself is overpowered in the player's hands, so I removed it.

One last thing, when the rp starts, the player will not have access to their skills at the start. A certain point in the beginning is when everyone will get their skills. Basically a Zero to Hero kinda thing.
 
The tower will not be one of the available ones. It's too closely intertwined with The Devil to be realistically used as a player . Besides, the ones that are not selectable will still be in the rp, but will make an impact in the rp. That I can promise.
 
Don't worry. By the middle to end of the week, I'll have the list finalized and the sign up well up on the board
