So, I'm currently working on a new RP. However, before I go any further on working on it, I kind of want to get a general grasp of how many people will want to join. If I don't get at least 8-10, I don't think I'll bother, to be honest. The RP I've got in mind is a science fiction RP. I haven't seen one around here lately, if at all, so I decided to make one.

However, I want the RP to be a little... larger than most people would be used to. Therefore, I need a lot of people. There is a rather large plot, and there will be something for everyone to do. It'll start off as a rather open RP, but then drift into a story driven one. Every character will be important, and I do plan on letting everyone make a villain if you plan on making one.

It'll require some effort on myself and everyone involved, and I'm really going to need some dedication. So if you're the type of person that chooses not to post for an entire week, don't bother. No offense, but I need actual dedication, not hollow words where you tell me that you are. It'll require two posts a week minimum. I won't have the RP slowed to a crawl or die because one person couldn't get off their ass for ten minutes and write up a post.

This also means that if you become inactive, I will be killing off your character.

I know I sound like a hardass (because I am one), but I really want to see a different kind of RP.

Also, if everything works out, I've already got up a plan for a sequel.

tl;dr?: I'm making a Sci-Fi RP on a bigger scale than some of you will be used to. I require people and dedication, and I'm a prick about it. Fun will be had, and a good story will be told, and you have me in charge of things, and I plan on holding things down.

If you're interested, just post here. Ask questions if you like, and I will try my best to answer them without giving shit away. If I get enough interested people, I'll try to have a sign up thread in the next two weeks. Yes, I realize that's a rather large period of time. Think about it this way: it's a large RP, and I want every single detail, no matter how small or big, to be perfect.

So, who's interested?
 
The description makes me think immediately of Mass Effect.

But in any case, I'm interested.
 
Don't worry, I'm not aiming for a Mass Effect RP in the slightest. In fact, I'm trying my best not to go for that. Of course, there will be references to television shows and other games, and a bit of inspiration has been pulled out a lot of them. After all, I've spent ages watching sci-fi and playing sci-fi games. So a lot of inspiration comes from Battlestar Galactica, Half-Life 2, Star Wars, and even some Star Trek (and even some anime). In a way, I want to take the best from all, leave out the worst, and make something special.

You already know I'm interested. :ryan: And do take your time on planning everything out, while in the meantime I'll be kicking this writer's block's ass . :hmph:

I hope this rp gets many dedicated members cause I know you're working hard on it. ^_^ I'm willing to wait for the release of this RP ~
 
Well, I suppose I'll get to writing it then. I still have ideas I'm not sure of, and things I'm not sure if I'll add or not. Expect a sign up thread in two weeks (or slightly longer if I get called out of town). I've got a lot to write up. But I'll try my best to get everything up and running.
 
I'm absolutely up for this. I've already got character ideas swimming through my skull.
 
I am interested as well! Been playing too many RPs recently that involve me not having technology... and I'm having a streak of inspiration about technological stuff, so yeah.
 
Okay, going to ask a quick question here before I continue writing. I want there to be multiple species/races. The problem is... I'm kind of lazy, and I suck at thinking up names for them. So, would you all rather: A-Just all be human, or B-Be able to create your own species when you fill out your bio?

Also, you may all me for this, but there will be no space travel. Soz, but it would only get out of hand. :mokken:

However, I will be making up for that. :grin:

Progress on everything so far is going somewhat smoothly. I've written four pages of backstory and setting, and I'm still not done, and I still haven't gotten to present day in the RP. So, it's going to be a lot of fucking reading when I get the sign up thread going. I've got a lot of shit packed into this RP, and I'm sure you're all going to enjoy it if you don't mind reading a lot. :grin:
 
I don't mind either one, I'll probably end up as a human anyway. Or human-ish. Does having lots of mechanical implants or experiments done on me to test the limits of my mind/body count as human?
 
As long as it makes sense and as long as it can't be considered powerplaying, then I'll allow it most likely. I'll be going through everyone's bio thoroughly to make sure there aren't too many unreasonable things in it. Meaning, I don't want one person going around having a human that can jump 50 in the air for no apparent reason.

I also don't want people creating a species that outclasses everyone else in everything. Some people like to try and abuse the system that way, but I won't be allowing it here. As far as technology, implants, etc go, I will allow it, but it must be reasonable.
 
There's certainly more appeal in being able to make a character belonging to an alien species so at least then you've room to be a bit more imaginative when it comes to creating its appearance, its lore and even its own language. With various species, it might be fun to plot out how they behave towards each other, whether peacefully and amicably or constantly wishing to tear each other's spines apart. xD
 
Alrighty then, I'll be allowing it. I think I'll also include a form of gene splicing that will allow someone of one species to be "infected" by another, giving them slight abilities that a human (or someone else of another race) wouldn't typically have. I just hope no one decides to blow that out of proportion.

And I'm sure it'll give me a lot of extra work to do to ensure that no one tries to pull anything funny. :ahmed:
