I'm pretty sure that this is the first offical Iron Man 2 trailer to be released. I enjoyed the first movie well enough (I'm a RDJ fan), and this one looks like it's not going to disappoint. Mickey Rourke certainly sounds like an interesting villain, and Tony Stark seems to still be up to his old sarcastic ways.

What do you guys think about this movie? Looking forward to it?

Wow!

War Machine!!! I knew he'd probably be making an appearance as War Machine in this film, but it's good to see footage of Rhodey fighting along side Stark at the end.

And I do like Robert Downey Jr. as Stark. :D He cracks me up.

Whiplash appears to be quite good in this also, but I'll wait till the film comes out. What I've noticed, and what I like about the Iron Man movies, is that they're not straight away picking out the absolute obvious villains for Iron Man to face. Hopefully this is so that they can expand the series and lead up to bigger movies, rather than getting all the main ones out in the first few movies and struggling with it (like Spiderman, etc).

I really enjoyed the first Iron Man movie, I think it's probably my favourite superhero movie of all time, so yeah I'm really looking forward to this and it doesn't appear to have lost it's spark.

EDIT:
That apple video lagged like heck for me, but I've found the same trailer on youtube now, which makes easier viewing.

EDIT v2:

I really enjoyed the first Iron Man movie and by looking at that trailer I'm sure I'm going to enjoy the second one.

I need to put the DVD on again to refresh my mind on it though. There's so many superhero movies these days, I'm getting confused. :gonk:

I was suprised by the first movie, since I find Iron Man one of the most boring superhero's I know. But the movie was nice and funny, mainly through the actor who played the Iron Man guy (forgot his name..) I'll defenitely watch part 2.

I really like Iron Man.
It was like purely awesome and funny at the same time. :P
You'll never get bored with every scene.

I just happen to see a trailer of Iron Man 2, somewhere.
and was excited to see War Machine there. This will be surely a blast like the first one.
Definitely gonna watch it!

Im chuffed cause War Machine is in this one. But its not the same actor, and I liked the guy from the first Iron Man. Mickey Rourke looks awesome as always and of course Robert Downey Jr :P The first one is brilliant, so this one should be just as good.

Oh yes I am! Iron Man itself was a great movie and lemme tell you about Robert Downey Jr. Mightay fine ;D haha. But yeah, the trailor just makes me want to see it even more quite estatic for it :D :)

Okay, I figure with the movie out, now's as good as time as any to bring this back...

Got back from seeing it a little bit ago, and WHOOO....

Loved it. I can't say yet whether I liked it more than the original or not, but this is definitely one of the better sequels that Marvel's done.

Pros:
  • It wasn't packed. Marvel sequels (Spider-Man 3, X-Men 3) really suffer from this sort of thing when they have too many characters. The last movie had Iron Man vs. Iron Monger. This one's got Iron Man, War Machine, and Black Widdow vs. Hammer and Whiplash...and it doesn't feel like there's too much going on.
  • Pacing. I've heard some criticisms, but to be honest I was fine with how the movie played out. It didn't drag on, and neither was it rushed.
  • The Acting. RDJ was just as amazing in this one as he was in the last one. Rourke pulled off a Russian accent that didn't suck (looking at you, ST:TOS Chekov :p ).
  • The humor. It was well timed, nothing fell flat, and I especially liked "Would you please step out of the donut?"
  • The "noise level". For most people who like action movies, you'll get what you like. For those who prefer acting/dialogue over effects, the explosions and whatnot are fairly easy to spot coming (just look for some sort of suit of armor to be on the screen)
  • The post-end credits scene. LOVED THAT.

Cons:
  • Whiplash/Dynamo. He made for an interesting new villain and he wasn't bad, but he wasn't as good as Obadiah Stane/Iron Monger. Despite his connection to the Starks, he just didn't feel as personal as Stane did.
  • Lack of Black Sabbath in the end credits. Come on, at least keep "Iron Man" a constant?

I completely loved 2, probably even more than the first one. I don't understand how its been getting such bad reviews from the critics, saying it's boring and badly paced. I agree that they maybe didn't get everything right, and that they tried to put a bit too much in, but when you look at how Spiderman 3 tried to do the same then Iron Man 2 was a massive success.

I remember thinking the first one was quite funny when I watched it, and I'm glad they've stuck to Robert Downey Jr.'s strengths in that aspect. Every time I see him in something, I fall in love with him a little bit more.

The biggest problem I had with it was
that Whiplash's motives seemed a bit... shit. He originally said to his father that it didn't matter he didn't have all the fame etc. of Tony Stark, but the instant his father died it suddenly became a personal matter.

I also thought the part when Tony had to basically design a completely new element was a bit rushed. It found it a bit hard to believe that he do it all so fast.

Well it wasn't just Spider-Man 3. X-Men 3 tried to cram in the Cure storyline and Dark Phoenix and it all..well, mashed up. I liked that this one was able to juggle an incredibly large cast of major players without feeling stuffed.

Definitely one of the best Marvel character actors, IMO (Alfred Molina's Doc Ock was another good one).

1: You're asking an insane weapons engineer who likes little white birds to have a stable mentality for this sort of thing? :p

2: The element was a bit rushed, but I try to think of it this way; He had all the instructions he needed, and a given idea of the parts required. It's like getting a lego set. You have instructions and parts; you just need to assemble them.

lol there already an iron man 3 in production, robert downey jr really loves his role as iron man. Maybe I will plan to go se it,im hearing that its good and not good by people,i cant choose! crimson dynamo, from what i see, doesnt look like the crimson dynamo in the comics at all. Theres details about thor in the film i heard.

Antagonists
iron man- iron monger
iron man 2- crimson dynamo
iron man 3- titanium man

Technically in the movie; Ivan Vanko is Whiplash. It's just that towards the end, he gets a slight equipment upgrade that makes him look more like the Crimson Dynamo.

Fixed.

Titanium Man certainly would be an interesting choice for the third movie, though I'm hoping (if that's the case) that it's JUST Titanium Man, and not one of the teamups that so often causes #3s to crumble.

I really like titanium man and i really think he will be thje iron man 3 antagonist, hes the rival of iron man.venom is spidermans rival in spiderman 3,there we go. Titanium man cracked me up in marvel ultimate alliance 2 lol thats why i want to see him in iron man 3,but better not be fucked up like spider man 3!

I guess you could call him a rival, but Iron Man's tended to have a lot of rivals/enemies over the years (Hammer, Stane, etc.) so I'm not sure who really holds the spot of "Arch-Enemy" (Green Goblin is typically Spider-Man's, Doctor Doom is the FF's, etc.).

Now the question is; a new Titanium Man design, or the one based on the movie toy from the first film (Who I think looks like a Borg-ified Master Chief)?

The role of Tony Stark fits Robert Downey Jr. like a glove. Their appearance, personality, and histories mirror each other to an almost scary degree.

As it's been mentioned, I'm not sure how it's been getting such bad reviews, either. Even though I was pumped to see it, I was unsure of what to expect because I'd read some pretty mediocre reviews a couple of days ago. But it did really well managing the characters and pacing the film and whatnot. In fact, the only thing that I thought was kind of disappointing was
the length of the final battle against Whiplash. Even though I understand that Iron Man and War Machine really couldn't touch him and if it went on much longer it'd just be them getting their butts kicked, it still seemed like they figured out the final blow a bit soon.

Well, Iron Man was intended to be a trilogy since the first one was being made, so it's absolutely no surprise that the third is going to be beginning production. And it wasn't Crimson Dynamo in Iron Man 2; it was Whiplash and also Justin Hammer. As for the antagonist of Iron Man 3, as I stated in a different thread, I hope they attempt to deviate from the "another guy in a robot suit" trend--even though I understand that that's who a lot of Iron Man's enemies are. But I guess we''ll see.

Also: the Thor movie has been planned for a while now, too, and I think is currently in the process of filming. And while we're at it, there's going to be a Captain America movie and also an Avengers movie in which the Marvel heroes of the latest films will be coming together. Should be pretty exciting.

I suppose based on this that I should mention the group who first kidnapped Stark in the first movie was part of a terrorist group known as the Ten Rings?

(Iron Man fans can see where that's going.)

Hulk was the first.
Then Iron Man
Next up is Thor, followed by Ant Man (2011)
After that, we'll be getting Captain America and finally The Avengers (2012)

I really like the way this is being set up too. We're getting an Avengers movie (WITH THE FOUNDING MEMBERS FROM THE COMICS), and with each member of the cast getting their own movies/origins first, it's making it so the Avengers movie itself doesn't have to spend too much time on origins/backgrounds.

This one(what i found in your link) should be in iron man 3 cuz it never yet appeared in a film or anime, was this one in the 1st iron man video game?

This is him in marvel ultimate alliance 2, hes pretty cool and i think i seen that design before, maybe to color it green would make him cooler.

this is another figure but i dont know the timeline when it was made,in wikipedia it says that a new titanium man figure is being made into a toyline(hmm iron man 2 toyline?)

which one u prefer?

Yeah, I was going to say that I was hoping for the Mandarin in the third one. I guess they wanted to stay away from him because [1.] they wanted to focus more on Iron Man's origins rather than cramming that and the introduction of the Mandarin into a single film, and [2.] because someone like him would deviate too much from the technology based atmosphere too soon. I think it was stated that if he was going to play a major villain in a film, it'd be saved for a later installment.

I'm hoping that they aren't going to leave reference to him purely as the Ten Rings terrorist group from the first movie. It was a neat reference, but it'd still be cool to actually see him as an antagonist.

That's right, I totally forgot they're making an Ant Man movie, too.

It was kind of funny, during the credits of Iron Man 2, I was talking to my friend about how neither of us particularly cared for Thor, but as soon as I saw the post-credits scene I was all like "Oh man I'm so jacked about the Thor movie now".

Just saw Iron Man 2 today :D It was awesome, great special effects and spectacular acting :awesome: My only real complaint about it was that it kind of just ended...I liked what happened, but the flow of the story was steady throughout most of the movie, and then it was suddenly over. I was really hoping for one more verbal confrontation between
Stark and Ivan at the end
, but it didn't happen :hmmm: Very well done movie though. I particularly liked the parts where
Rhodes kicked his ass at the party when he was being a jerk, when Samuel L. Jackson told him to "please exit the donut" xD, and the way that Ivan was not portrayed as just some evil raving lunatic; he was evil to want to kill people of course, but you were made to feel at least a little empathy for his side of the story, and I liked that.
Plus, even he wasn't as bad as that
pain-in-the-ass Hammer guy
:lew: I think he was played by Sam Rockwell, who if I'm not mistaken also portrayed Zaphod Beeblebrox in the Hitchhiker's Guide movie--also a pain-in-the-ass there :D, though more of a lovable one. And I'm very excited that
Thor is the next movie
:D Can't wait for the Avengers either 8F
