Is it racist to oppose gypsies?

This was said sometime ago, but still...

Actually that's more or less the definition of Racism. Disliking a certain race or ethnicity or culture in the case of Gypsies for no reason other than their 'otherness'.

Many of the comments posted were explaining their dislike for the Gypsy culture, not for their "otherness" but for their actions. Big Casino spoke of the mess they usually leave behind, Squid was talking about their lack of contribution and Marquis was further pointing out how they expect the benefits of society despite this lack of contribution. These points are nothing to do with the Gypsies' "otherness", these are views built from examples of the behaviour they have seen of Gypsies. It is hardly rascist to dislike the actions of a person or group of people, particularly when these actions have nothing to do with their culture or lifestyle choice.

Hating a race as a whole is just plain ignorant. You don't know everyone in the race so why would you make such assumption?

Criticize and individual and not a group as a whole.
