Iv'e heard that in ffvii dirge of cerburus that genesis apears somewhere in the game, i know that loveless gets mentioned alot but i would like to know if he appears (as i haven't completed the game yet)

~please reply to this thread~

If you unlock the secret ending you will see Genesis appear and take Weiss off ...wherever he takes him after you have defeated him. It's liek a really short clip and I was wondering who the hell he was when he appeared
Open ended much -__-

Moondancer pretty much explained it all,
you get the secret ending by collecting the three 'G reports' which are hidden throughout the game. The video is on youtube somewhere if you don't find the reports. He only appears for a few seconds though, it's nothing really significant.

As Moondancer said, he does appear in the secret ending. I am not trying to turn this into a debate either, but this leaves me a little.. pissed. As I just finished Crisis Core, I realized I've played every "ff7" spin off (unless you think Kingdom hearts is one.. in which it isn't) and chronologically SE might have put a noose around their neck.

Here's what I mean.. You have FFVII that was released and it delt with only sephiroth and a little bit of shinra. It describes the operations of Avalanche and the evolvement of Cloud realizing who he truly is.

Then you have Dirge of Cerberus it gives more of a background story of Vincent Valentine. It also describes who Lucrecia is and so on and such. It describes his ability to control Chaos which is his inner transformation. This game happened a bit after sephiroth did his thing with METEOR.. (not giving away spoilers) but what really kinked me was they threw in Genesis being still alive.

Why this erks me? Well you have Crisis Core which is the prequal to FFVII and it shows how the true envolvement of Shinra and how SOLDIER evolved. You have Genises, Angeal, Sephiroth and Zack who are all talented soldier genetically altered with MAKO. Well at the end of the game you know who dies and you know who lives. How many times did you kill copies in this game of Genesis, I felt like it became redundant after a period of time. So by bringing back Genesis as the secret ending in Dirge that leaves everything open ended.

So here's the time line you have Crisis Core -> FFVII -> FFVII Dirge/FFVII AC - So you bring back Genesis at the end of Dirge..

Well that puts false hopes that there might actually be a new Final Fantasy VII spin off.. which I don't see ever happening personally. It's like an unfinished piece of work.

i think there will be a spin off. I'm guessing that Genesis is alive because it could've been another clone, kinda like Hojo's failed clones of Sephiroth. Maybe Genesis is the new Sephiroth? Maybe they'll explain Cloud and Vincent's story a little better because they were both also "made" in the Mansion.

Errr, I hate to tell you this but that timeline is wrong. Dirge of Cerberus takes place one year after Advent Children...not before it. It goes: Before Crisis> Crisis Core> FFVII> FFVII AC> Dirge of Cerberus. Anyway that's Square's point. Didn't Nomura state himself that he wants to keep going on with the FFVII franchise and making shit for like the next 10 years? Yeah, milking it much? FFS, Square, why can't you just leave the fucking game alone before you drive even more fans away? :ffs:

I do think there will be another spin off but i highly boubt that genesis will become the 'new' sephiroth. To tell you the truth about the final fantasy vii series i think vii is the one that holds the most secrets, once you have completed crisis core, watched advent children and go back and play it you will understand and KNOW more about the game.

Thank you for answering my question people ;)
and i think this kinda did turn into a debate

It's a 20 year project so expect to see more than one more spin off.... xD

There's no doubt in my mind that Genesis reappearing at the end of DoC means there will be another game, lets not forget that Weiss and Nero (I think ts those 2) take Genesis off in a whirly bird at the end of Crisis Core. Saying they had another 'brother' or summat. So even though the ending of DoC is an optional ending and you may never of saw it, you could still assume that there would be a sequel because Genesis is alive when he exits CC

No doubt Sephiroth will make another appearance aswel, but that's a whole new thread

Well...In Crisis core at the end Genesis Is carried away by two men with silver hair....So you dont have a proof that he is dead at all...am i wrong?

Well with all of what we have of FFVII so far, it would seem logical they would eventually remake the original game and perhaps instead of calling it a spin-off, SE would make a sequel. I hope they won't make crap for ten years or more, I'd be content to see a definitive end. Like absolute destruction of SOLDIER, destroying the source of all clones or...something. Its been a very long time since I've played any of the FFVII stuff, so my memory is very fuzzy. But if they were to do anything more, that would seem most likely to me. Alas, nothing new has been announced, I guess FFXIII stuff keeps them busy.

Heh I put the time line like that because I didn't remember which one came first (AC or Dirge). So thanks for answering that question that was nestled in my brain.

Here's another thing, Genesis was never truly powerful in my eyes.
He was always degenerating
. When I started Crisis Core I could of sworn Angeal was stronger than Genesis and that Genesis was stronger than Sephiroth, but boy was I freakin wrong. I never thought Zack could even pale in comparison to either of the three either. I mean what one unique move did he have? Did he have the "wing" in which all the others had as well? Nah, they were supposedly clones.. but honestly we know what truly happened to Angeal (near the end "no spoilers") Then we figure out who Sephy is and how he is the most "complete" so to speak of the three. Also it threw in how Cloud was as well.. but how far does Cloud remember?

Does he even remember who Angeal or Genesis were? I mean I had no idea who Genesis was until people played Crisis Core and started yelling out who the damn dude was with the 1 black wing in the secret ending of Dirge.

You could take a spinoff in to many different ways.. I just wish they would continue the story line and quit distorting it. It looks like Genesis in Dirge was a complete bad ass compared to how he was in Crisis Core.

Yea I know all the women were goo-goo gah-gah for him as they were with Cloud Sephiroth and Vincent.. but damn.. I think they left this to open. I don't believe they will ever make anything of it though. We will always wonder "What ever did happened to the leather wearing fellow with the one black wing who had loveless in one hand."

Yeah. Crisis Core Reference
When Genesis is picked up by Azul and Nero (see the list of voice actors in the credits on the last pages of the little booklet for confirmation) they are wearing 'Soldier' outfits, yes... but their emblems... they are NOT Soldier. They are actually Deep Ground Emblems that you won't see again until Dirge of Cerberus

- Put int Dirge of Cerberus (tie it in)
Find all the G Project reports and you get the ending - or... you can find a walk through that will tell you where to find them... or simply go onto YouTube and watch it.

Genesis notes --
It is speculated that there is more to come in the Final Fantasy 7 story (as a whole) ... but erm... Genesis is only a Gary-Stue Character for Gackt... he pretty much bought his way into the series. (He did the voice and motion capture and his likeness of the character's appearance
