Is Kefka really that bad?

I wouldn't say he is the most baddest..............Definately the most evil

His plans were just KILL KILL KILL KILL!!!!

As well as most scariest probably (Joker from Dark Knight huh?)

Luckily he was stopped :starwars:

Kefka really wasn't that bad of a guy. This whole "destroying the world" bit? Didn't happen as far as I could tell, all he managed to do was shift a few islands and burn a couple of houses down with his Eye of Judgement. The world economy seems to be completely unaffected by his actions, in fact, many towns start selling a hell of a lot better items than they were beforehand. What Kefka did manage to do that was significant was obliterate the Empire, and I'd have to wonder if life for most people didn't actually improve significantly because of this fact.

@Neo Bahamut:

He succeeded in more than any other villain has or could ever do. He said he would kill off the planet, which he managed to actually do (something others never did). He was defeated, and for killing off him (the god of magic) they managed to bring the planet back from death. He killed thousands of people, torn their villages apart, completely wrecked all of the world (jumbled it up and everything!), became a god (yes, he was a god) by controlling the statues and absorbing their powers, making himself the god of the planet.

He poisoned a whole kingdom, killed thousands of Espers and some more in the Magitek Labs and then more in Thamasa. He put a slave crown on a young girl so he could use her powers against everyone. He killed General Leo (a trustful honorable man) and even went as far as back stabbing Gestahl (a man we saw taking over the Esper World!) and then forced the gods and goddesses to serve him in his might.

That's evil. He is as bad as he claims, even more so than others think or say. The only thing that did exactly what it was suppose to besides Kefka, was Sin in FFX. He killed millions of people. :c

Other villains tried and failed horribly. Well, I hear the Emperor did something similar and actually pulled it off. But I've never played that one, so I'm not sure. >.>

@Adamant:
He did destroy the world. Its dead.

They had to end magic and the God controlling it -- Kefka -- to bring the planet back to life.... :d

Before adding my two cent, I feel I must reply to these two people.

Zidane killed his older bro

Perhaps, but
Kuja still managed to do what he set out to do (after finding out he was mortal, of course): Destroy the crystal. Hello! Why do you think Necron appeared in the first place?

Other villains tried and failed horribly. Well, I hear the Emperor did something similar and actually pulled it off. But I've never played that one, so I'm not sure. >.>

Good ol' Emperor! He never wanted to destroy the world
until he attained the powers of Hell
, so achieving supernatural powers was the best he could do to rule the world with an iron fist. He conquered HEAVEN AND HELL. Maybe that's why he wanted to destroy everything, after conquering everything there was nothing left to rule.

Back to Kefka. I do think someone THAT unstable (both power and mind), may rank well above in the top list of greatest villains in the FF universe. I haven't played the game, but I played Dissidia. Watching that scene that happens before he fights Terra makes the average person say "This guy's ****ing wacko!!!"

Describing everything in his resume like you guys did? Yeah, I think Sephiroth can't compare. Sephiroth had to go to a town to set it in flames. Kefka simply had to cast a spell kilometers away to make the same impact.

I should play get the game. I really want see how awesome Emperor is. :awesome:

Yea, he is very unstable. He played with Terra like a doll -- dressed her up and stuff. Very sick and evil.

Kefka killed thousands and thousands of people and actually managed to kill the planet. But his death put life energy back into the planet lol

He still did what he said he was gonna do, or do what he was gonna do. :D

Kefka survived the infusion of the statues...that has to hurt.

He is quite evil. His backstory was published in a magazine Ultimania-style, and it says that he was abused as a child, and his magiteck enhancement made him mad. So he has no reasons for doing those terrible deeds except for the LULZ, buddy.

Yea...he was actually
raped
as a child in Thamasa...so the Japanese translators say >.>

I like how he's evil just because he can be evil. He's so cool.

KEFKA IS EVIL! When going through the game the 1st time I was like "WHAT THE HELL!? this guys is sick!" And that was when he poisoned the lake alone. When he destroyed the world I was swearing at the screen in fury. the game is emotional for that and when I didn't save Cid it just got worse when I saw that scene. When I beat that clown whos NOT FUNNY IN THE SLIGTEST I shouted "HAH! EAT IT! CHUCK NORRIS' FIST! DISINGDIGATE! ..........I'm fine." Seriously, I used pummel blitz to get a quick attack in and in a way sabin is the final fantasy version of chuck norris!

I heard that he was also dumped and rejected by his parents and dumped into a Thamasa orphanage, then he was raped by one of the older caretakers ?

It sounds almost like Gau's story. Rejected by his dad, and living alone. Do you think if Sabin and Cyan tried to make Gau civilized, that he could follow the same path as Kefka ?! :hmmm:

While Kefka is pure evil and has murdered tons of innocent people, inside I do feel a *little * sorry for him, a little. I mean, not going growing up with anybody loving you, and then being sexually abused would make anybody, a little messed up.

That's what I've read myself. The books said it was one of the reasons his mind was so weak...And then he was demoted, Celes was promoted (which if I remember correctly, made him even crazier) and then he got his second Magitek Injection and then went completely crazy :0

Who votes for Mark Hamill as the voice actor for Kefka in the 3DS remake? ;)

Olol, that would be really evil :wacky:

GESHTAL: Cid never told you what happened to your father.

KEFKA: He told me enough! He told me you killed him!

GESHTAL: No...I...am your father....

KEFKA: Nooooooo! That's not true!!!!!!! That's impossible!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAH!!!!! *falls off the Floating Continent*

I think Kefka is pretty evil, tbh, one of the most in the series. He was able to laugh and take pleasure in the sacrifices of others, which takes a real badass/sociopath imo. Even though he was a bit amusing at times, I really was glad to see him go.

Kefka's a joke :hmph:

I mean he's seriously a clown. Which, in my honest opinion, is the scariest dang thing to ever see. but I don't think he did much damage or was much of a villain. And before any fans come in here and say I'm a rabid Sephiroth fan, I'm gonna say this. I DO NOT think Sephiroth is any more of a villain. They're both lame. The only evil thing Sephiroth did was kill a guy's girlfriend in front of him so don't say I only think this way of Kefka cuz I'm a VII fan. :mokken:

And yes, I know. Kefka supposedly destroyed the world... but the world is still around :wacky:

So, no, he wasn't that bad. :ryan:

Kefka makes Sephiroth look like a momma's boy.

Sephiroth is a mama's boy.

But back on subject.

Kefka can be argued as one of the top villians of all Final Fantasy games, no question about it. I don't think he is the very top dog of it all, We seem to forget about one villian that I say can top off Kefka, but Kefka did indeed do a couple things that made him a very crazy villain.

1. He gained high power within an empire that wanted control.

2. He was able to take control of the most powerful beings on his planet (the espers)

3. He wiped out kingdoms without thinking of his own soldiers life

4. He was able to manipulate the emperor.

5. He took control of the world for at least a year before anyone stopped him.

6. He made many people fear him in his life.

and 7. He made it so that the Espers had to vanish forever so that the world could start to go back to normal again.

I am sure there are more things, but these things I say makes him one of the top villians of all Final Fantasy games, I would only argue that one more could maybe be able to top him off, Yu Yevon, and thats
only because he made it so people were in fear of his creation (sin) for over 1000 years,
there are more reasons but that would be a different section

Olol, that would be really evil

KEFKA: Nooooooo! That's not

Interesting plot twist, there!
Mark Hamill did the voice of The Joker in the Batman animated series, I figure he could do the whooping cackle pretty well!
Apologies for digressing from the topic!

Simplified facts about Kefka:

1. He's evil.
2. He's hilarious.
3. He isn't nuts. He's a nutshell.
4. He's a nihilistic, childish, heartless bastard.
5. He got steroids for his God-form.
6. He's a fashion disaster.

7. He's supposed to be hateful. Why should he be pitied in some way? He murdered millions of people. Should it matter if he got the most tragic past ever? None of what could have happened to him could justify what he did to the world, right?

Kefka = Antichrist

Still, I love/hate this villain.
