Is there any way to stop Squall from becoming far more powerful than the rest?

lol yeah this response wont help any as others stated in the first few posts. but keep him dead, and lvl whom you want to be good. personally I never cared if Squall was 20 lvls ahead of every1 else. He's a beast, and I found battles easier with him being higher lvled.

As mentioned before, one way is to just kill Squall and rely on your two other party members. Also, to use your characters in fights a LOT when Squall isn't around. [At the end of Disc 1 in the sewers, in D-District Prison, and during the Galbadia Missile Base Mission.] Another way is to make sure Squall gets very few final kills, so the extra exp can go to other characters.

All in all, it's a bit of a hassle. =/ I wish they let you remove Squall from the party.

This may have already been said (I skipped straight to page 3) but why bother stopping him? the higher your levels the more chance you have of winning

I don't think you should really bother with Squall being so strong. It will eventually help you. Killing him like I said earlier might just take out the fun in the game. Why not just level up everybody to the point where they can't get any better?

Like FFX where you can customize your characters to almost anyway you like, I think FFVIII may also have any character as powerful as you want.

With the Junctioning system you can boost stats to max strength with the right Magic. I know I preferred a party of Squall, Zell, and Rinoa, and they were all equally strong in attack and health. I think Squall did have a slight advantage due to the attack power of his weapons though, no matter how much he leveled up.

Actually you can make ur chars powerful. Take advantage of the bonus to stats at lvl up frum the gf abilities. Also Zell's Armageddon Fist is bad ass i killed ultima weapon with just that attack.

yeah u can u can stop playing wit him and put someone else in to take his place and start playin wit everybody else but him. thats what i did and when i fenshed the game, squall was on lvl65 and everybody else was on lvl 99

Yeah, and if Squall's a god, then he can spend time crushing the enemy as (insert party members here) are busy healing and summoning. Is there anything WRONG with Squall being 10 levels higher than your other guys?

Yes, basically you just have to kill Squall off alot of the time if you don't want him getting too far ahead of the pack.

However, later on you see why this happens and why it's a good idea to allow it....*cough*Lionheart*cough*
