you guys is this cheating in gaming if i i do this?

Like i look at any info about monsters of certain games by looking at wiki or any other info about certain game enemies and yes certain games too and yes one of the examples is final fantasy stuff and yes you can call me a nerd or a geek and I'm proud to be one like their AI scripts hp mp info their stats other useful stuff about them and yes other stuff too like items weapons whatever and their strengths and weaknesses and yes about the game too.

When i look at wiki about my favorite subjects of like gaming, and anime/manga and other useful stuff if i love it and of course if it's useful too thanks you guys i was just curios.

It's not really cheating. If you're having a problem with a certain enemy, it's good to check a wiki or other information center. Or if you're trying to find a certain item and need to know where to get it.

I only really consider it "cheating" if you're using a wiki to metagame, but even then it isn't really "cheating", per-say. Most times you can't really metagame unless it is with a game where you influence the storyline (like Heavy Rain).

It's not cheating, because it's YOUR game. No one else has the right to tell you how you should play your game- so do what you like and enjoy it.

Yes it's cheating. If you wish to play the game, you play it using the information the game has given you, and whatever you learn from that. You can learn from external sources, such as wikis and gamefaqs, but both let you bypass the challenge within the game itself. I always play without any sort of information for my first playthrough, and then after that, I refer to guides and such for my extra playthroughs, to see if I missed anything. This way I can play through the game as it's intended.

Well depends how you want to play the game.

If you are like me and first time around don't use any walkthrough try to do everything without looking. You might call it cheating.

If you just look constantly, then it isn't cheating...it is all how you feel about it in the end.

Its not cheating because sometimes the games are really vague in some things, like now i dont have time to replay rpgs so i use guides to discover things and get the most of a single playtrought like getting Suikoden 108 SoD by your own is almost impossible.

Or like in FF7, How should i had know that to get Barret Final Weapon i had to bring him to a certain location? I had to use a guide. As long as you use your own tactics to take down enemies there is no problem.

Lolz it's definitely not cheating, if you feel like you'll gain an advantage by looking through HP/MP stats and reistances and weaknesses for certain enemies than you're free to do so, dude. The same logic goes for viewing a walkthrough in case you happen to be stuck on a certain boss or you're lost in a particular area, there's nothing wrong with informing yourself if the game doesn't necessarily provide that information for you. There's no wrong or right way to play a game, it's what is beneficial to you and what you feel will help you pass a certain area or defeat a difficult enemy--that's what matters. So yeah, no one has the right to say, "Oh derp you're cheating! Omgz y r u lookin at dese stats for dese enemies!?!!111" :rage: Are they playing the game? No. If they wouldn't use a guide or walkthrough then good for them but if it works for you and so long as you're playing it then you're entitled to look up as many stats or what ever as you please. Hell, I use walkthroughs for most of my games nowadays anyways and I could care less whether I'm cheating or not because at the end of the day it helps me keep on track and not make as many mistakes.

Yes it's cheating, you have sinned and you must ask God for forgiveness.

Just joking, It's not cheating and like everyone else who agrees with me you're simply learning about your enemies to take them down faster, tactical advantage as everyone else has stated.

If you somehow found a way to instantly level all of your characters to 99 that would be cheating, is it wrong? Obviously not! Does it take away from the gaming experience that Final Fantasy has lived on for 25 years? Possibly, depending if you will still enjoy the game being able to take down your foes with one strike.

I've never been a big RPG guy I just like Final Fantasy because of the great stories so you'll never catch me level grinding or maxing out my guys. In fact I breezed through 8 not knowing what the hell I was doing just killing everyone with GF's in one hit wondering how I was so good at a game that I didn't understand. Than I got to Adel and the guy that guards the castle that doesn't allow you to use GF's gave me huge trouble so I actually had to learn what I was doing. So I say its fun to try to do it by yourself at the same time if you found a faster way to do it than more power to you because to me I like Final Fantasy for the story anyways.
