The game isn't even out yet >_> You can't judge it just on cut scenes, you need to judge things like the story and battle system too, which we know nothing about yet >_>

It could look amazing (which it does) but still be a shit game

Game play over graphics anyday of the week, go watch a film if that's all you want

Everyone would like the Cut-scene to be real?! yep

Having seeing the latest screenshots from famitsu, that almoust looks like cut-scenes but need alot of lighting elements, its too contrasted-low lol

anywayz, we wouldn't want to say this is the best because its all about knowing the characters, world & gameplay system and see if it jells together much well to beat the previous games. Lets hope for that. ameeen to that.
 
Yeah, before saying this game is the greatest of the Final Fantasy series, it might be smart to play it and then say that. Lol. It may look beautiful and then it may turn out to be the biggest disappointment imaginable. I've learned not to be swayed/ impressed by pretty cut scenes/ graphics before actually seeing/ playing the game itself. I honestly hope it's fantastic and I have a feeling it will be - but I'm not getting my hopes up too too high! ;)
 
I'd say graphically it looks very impressive everything else...I've yet to be convinced by to be perfectly honest. By information and scans I've seen Versus XIII looks miles better than XIII.

Plus, XIII doesn't have a main character which is really a big turn off to be quite honest. =/
 
:ffs: Ok perhaps you could've said "this game has the best cut scenes" or something like that but considering the game isn't even out yet there is no way you can say it is the best FF.

Apparently not, Famitsu interviews the guy who is directing XIII and he said that game will be played through the view of several characters and not just Lightning.

Motomu Toriyama, the director of Final Fantasy XIII, divulged bits of information about the upcoming RPG in an interview with Famitsu PS3. We already know the demo is lengthy, but now we also know that it will allow players "to play from the opening through the prologue," similar to the Final Fantasy VII demo.Besides Lighting, players will also be able to play as the blonde male in the demo. He remains nameless, but whatever his name is, it will be weather-related as well.

Toriyama then talks about a "new style" where FFXIII will not have an actual main character. Instead, players will experience the story from the viewpoints of different characters. One of the main focuses of the demo will be to allow players to try out this "new style." The battle system also allows you to switch characters; it will be party-based and the player will switch between each character during combat.

^ Wow this sounds interesting, thanks for that. It'd be pretty interesting to see how this works when the game is released, hopefully though the characters don't end up as bland as XII's, just because there is no main character doesn't mean the characters have to be boring.
 
Well for me i can say, look at the FF12 cut-scenes and trailers it looked awesome untill you bought it... man that was a shit game and i enjoy all FF's and beated them all ( apart from 1,2,3 ) but this one sucked. Anyways we need to know the story ( if its decent, its good ) the characters ( if its ff12 characters this game will suck hands down ) the villian ( kefka like will make me make love to this game ) etc :P

Edit : Nice info Tsukasa! But notice its about the demo, maybe there will be a main character in the release ( Lightning for a hero, because she is the only one really seen in trailers and fighting etc and mostly they show the hero of the story first ). But also what Sashman said, ff12 had no real main character but they were all dull... in FF6 however, it was awesome, no main character but all characters had a past and personality.

Indeed, and if you really think about it, VI and IX, imo, didn't have a main character as such, either. Multiple characters were extremely significant. Garnet, Terra, Locke and so forth. I think Garnet's role in IX was just a simportant and forefront as Zidannes and a lot of the characters in VI were the same.

Who was the main character in VI ?
 
Well im sure that square knows about the slight dullness with the main guy, by this time. So i think FF 13 will be cool. As for VI, i liked playing a bunch of characters. It was like playing multiple stories kinda. I would think terra would be the main character but not sure...?
 
Okay, I had to laugh a little when I saw the title of this thread. I mean honestly, asking if a game is the best in a series before it's even out? I don't think that this topic really has much... value, at least not until it's out. At the moment, all we have to go on are cutscenes and little lines dropped here and there from people on the development team. So, going from those, I'd say it looks pretty good. The graphics are certainly amazing, and I really like the character designs. But without actually playing the game, it's impossible to know how much I'll like it compared to the others, especially with FFX to live up to <3
