Avatar or HNM, what do you think?
 
Looks a bit small for a HNM, on one hand the recent adds of HNM haven't been to great with drops Cerb, Hydra I'm looking at you. On the other hand, I personally feel that SMN have enough summons. Besides, they already have Ramus for lightning.
But anyway, like I said before it looks small like an avatar. So...who knows. (but then again so was Odin This was just out of left field though. There was tons of talk about Alexandor and Odin then BAM...Ixion And the Ixion is come is the same title square gave his introduction too :P Strange title lol.
 
I just hope it isnt an avatar XD
Cause SMNs always cry for new avatars, doesnt matter if they get 3 more this update... give them a couple months and they'll "need" another D:

no offence to SMNs, its just annoying.
 
Agreed, intro of fen, Diabolo and so on it was just a matter of WEEKS before the waves of complaints that it wasn't enough. SMN has always been a great job, only way I find them to be shafted is the fact that they were always asked to main heal when they are actually some of the best Damage Dealers out there.
 
I really need to start playing ffxi more, not played since last week. still i did get the chance to finish 7 after 4 years so...
 
I dunno if it's an Avatar, some sorta scene, maybe even a BCNM! I can't wait to find out ^^

Shocking to hear that, but I guess I can understand. Back in the day before kazaam (sp?) we used to have to level up to 30-35 at the island were you get the item for SMN quest. So everybody always got it before level 30. Was so annoying back then...

Anyway, so when is the update for this? I wanna know what it is lol.
 
i heard there was one on 2nd of june but that was a few days ago. damn i hate updates they take forever. took me three days to start playing
because i had to update and i only get on pc for like 3-4 hours a night.

btw i thought there were only about 6 avatars? do they just not include the extra's on the site?
 
Came out today, Ixion is a HNM. But apparently there are some fairly decent items with this update.

I was about to post em all...but was shocked to realize it would take up the whole page. A crapload of great items.

Edit for a few things.

It appears that you can't attack it with normal hits. It has no HP bar and it runs when you try to hit it. Apparently you have to it hit with Stygian Ash, which drops from Pixies. It then gets pissed and attacks you. Has a TP movie that hits everybody for 1000+, ignores shadows and silences ya. And it seems to have unlimited TP so it can spam that move "Wraith of Zeus".
It pops in MANY random areas across the globe. Possibly every area. And damn...I so wanna fight this. I always had a death wish and loved to fight the impossible.

Question though.




Is this Batallia Downs??????? Looks like the area but the tigers are different. Did they change the tigers AGAIN? They have been so many different colors since launch. Or is this a new place? Different time? I'd really wish to know cause I spent most of my gaming time with these lil fellows.

Their basically the ultimate fights in the game. Mobs that take alliances to fight, land gods and so on. You'll get most of your best armor from fighting these and you must join a ls dedicated to them in order to fight.

And thanks MBP. So that means its Batallia in the past? Damn...even more area's to farm em...I would've been in heaven.

It seems people are killing this quite easy now and the items drop at a GREAT percentage. Over 50% at least. All items are amazing as well, cloak, cape, and dagger. Seems to be at the least a 12 hour spawn as well, meaning the quickest spawn for a HNM. At these rate Ixion will be fairly useless within months. Yesterday alone I think it was killed like twice on each server and everybody got most drops.
