Holy crap, Mits is 30. Jesus. That's my guess. The big 3-0.

And I think we all know that women lie about age, so you can tack on at least 5 more years..

40.

I mean it is quite difficult to guess this without Tom's mathematical dissection of the problem.

(Also it looks like people haven't posted 5 times in order to get a second guess yet...)

Time's up! Thank you all for participating.

Winners are...

1st: @Dionysos (2 GP + 3 CT + Colored Username Member's Choice for 2 weeks)
2nd: @Soulcorruptor (1 GP + 2 CT)
3rd: @sly (1 CT OR 1 GP) CT or GP?
Participants: 1 CT

The answer is 47!

I require proof that there was indeed that many candies in the jar. I am demanding a recount and filing an injunction in the neutral state of...uh, Nebraska. I believe there was clear bias demonstrated by the counter in regards to my age based guess. Furthermore, I will be seeking clarification from the courts as to the clear definition of, 'chocolate', and 'jar.' I would of course be willing to concede, if the contents of the jar were given to me.

I am so happy that I won. :argor:

I knew most people were guessing too low since I could already tell that about half of the number of their guesses were already visible on the one side of the jar. The jar had four sides (well 6, I guess) and a centre, so adjusting my calculations for the fact that some chocolates would be taking up space on more than one side, while also noticing that the packet boasts of containing 245 chocolates (if that is indeed a 2 on the top left) that helped me to estimate how many chocolates a container like that could scoop up.

I'm no calculating Tom, but my own methods served me well this time! :polyphemos:

I call bs! :brooding:

I saw one side have the good 27 but then from the misleading picture the depth of the side of said container made me think we clearly had an idea how large the container was.
