Yes. The panel system can make the game seemingly hard if you dont get used to it.

And make sure you use your gears properly. Your keyblades in this game will determine whether enemies are hard or easily, respectively.

And no, they are not emo. They just like to talk about certain things that they want to get off their minds

Do missions and challenges, the rewards are sometimes very useful.

Also, spells don't necessarily get "stronger" as they go up in rank (Fire, Fira, Firaga), they are just used differently.

Fire - Homing fire ball at one target
Fira - Goes straight threw foes, doesn't home.
Firaga - It goes up and then down and explodes on the area

I'd have to say Cure, Fire, Blizzara and Thundaga are the best.
