The media are going gaga for GaGa...yet I don't see what all the hype is about. Sure, Just Dance is a catchy song, but she's everywhere. And she's been mouthing off, blasting talent shows and saying she wants to be known in her right, etc. And I'm just thinking "who are you?"

I'm in two minds over her. I like her song, but it's annoying that every time I check the paper, she's in it >_>

What do you think of Lady GaGa?

I had a dream where I needed directions to a pub so I called up Lady Gaga and she told me the way, she was surprisingly helpful too and no, I'm not joking.

Anyway, her music is bloody infectious it's constantly stuck in my head, I'm not sure if I actually like it or not but yeah.... Over here she doesn't get too much media exposure aside from extended play of her songs and video clips. I've yet to see a single interview with her/story about her.

Who the fuck is lady GaGa?:|
Shows how much I watch the news/read the newspaper:monster:
Effort etc:monster:

Same, she doesn't get any media exposure really.
I don't like her music, though I find the chorus from just dance and poker face catchy.
Though I take comfort in knowing that it'll all blow over in a couple of months and I can concentrate on better music.

Is it wrong to say I don't know who she is really and yet I still want her to shut the feck up? I pay hardly any attention to her kind of music, but she's... just.... there.... constantly.... it's driving me insane.

Don't like her music, don't like her. She's annoying. It's that simple. It reminds me of the huge hype around Lily Allen when she first came out... Ugh, she was every where too. Bleh, that's my 2 pence worth. >_>

I don't think she's worse than any other pop artist, apart from being vocally talented they do fuck all to deserve anything, pop artists don't write their own songs unlike rock bands etc so although she doesn't deserve as much hype as she's getting, neither do any other pop artists. :gmonster:

I think of Lady GaGa the way I think of Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, Nicole Ritchie and so many others...a waste muscle tissue. Her song 'Just Dance' is about her being drunk in a club. As I recall, there are a number of songs out there with similar or relatively similar content. But I do find her song to hit the pinnacle of annoying. I hear it every day I work because the radio station plays the same five songs every damn hour, and hearing "how'd my shirt get inside out?", "where are my keys I lost my phone" just makes me sick. Is this really what pop is going down to? *Sigh*

I think her album is catchy, and it's cool that she actually writes her own songs - and she's written for other singers too. I'm not really bothered if her songs aren't substantial or serious, I listen to music to be entertained, or to have a catchy beat in my head - I don't really care if the lyrics are meaningful - her songs do what I want - they keep me entertained. xD

I love Lady Gaga!!!

She's actually one of the only pop singers who looks pretty throughout the entire music video, even when singing. Most of the other girls make strange faces. >_<

Fav's from Lady Gaga:

Album: The Fame

* Just Dance feat. Colby O' Donis
* LoveGame
* Poker Face
* Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)
* The Fame

I love all music really. Britney, The Presets, Metallica, Guns 'N Roses, Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefani, Nickleback, Disturbed etc.

As long as it sounds good I'm in.

Yeah same here. I never hear anything of her other than when I'm clubbing and her music / video clips come on. And that's all I really want from artists really.

I love music and don't need to know anything else about an artist except that their music is awesome.

I was just talking to my partner about 5 minutes ago about how annoying it is to hear artists trying to sing about government and bash issues that they really know nothing about.

Like P!nk. I love P!nk but her "Dear Mr President" was so dull and boring. If I wanted to hear about that kind of stuff I would watch the news. It's depressing really.

If they thought they could do a better job then the people they are bashing then what the hell are they doing in the music industry???

Music is meant to be fun and entertaining...not about the crap we always hear on the news!

When I listen to music it doesn't have to have meaningful lyrics...just a good beat and such. Most people want to be entertained when they are out and listen to awesome music. I doubt any of them really take any of an artists lyrics seriously.

But to those of you who do, I have nothing against you. Each to their own.

That's just my opinion and everyone's different. >_<

Lady GaGa gets on my nerves >_<
'Just Dance' is really really annoying considering that's all they play on the radio and of course it gets stuck in my head :omg: I don't listen to any other songs by her because well why would I if i hate her music? I think i'd be better off without her voice in my head 24 fucking 7 goodness :oy: it's a shame what artist do these days like get a better song xD or get off the stage already damnit! lol. and off the radio and outta my head. n/o i just don't like her music. I don't know her as a person but her music is horrifying :brooding:

So have people's opinions of her changed in the past year now, hmm?

Now she's one of the biggest artists in the entire world, having been successful with her singles, albums and such. She's practically become my favourite singer in a matter of months. I got The Fame and The Fame Monster for Christmas and it was the best bloody present I ever got from my sister. :yay:

For some people who are unfamiliar with GaGa, here are her videos.

The next single she's releasing is Telephone with Beyonce. I really want her to release more from The Fame Monster. It'd have to be either Monster, Dance In The Dark or Teeth for me.

I knew of her a little while before she got famous and I thought she'd do well for herself, I didn't expect her to get quite quite as big as she has though, not that I'm calling her fat or anything.

I never really had a problem with her, which is actually quite a testament as "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" were on everywhere all the time. She never really offended me but I didn't have that strong of an opinion either way. I put off listening to "The Fame" or "The Fame Monster" for quite some time though and it was only last month I gave the album a full run through. I have to say that I was very impressed, I expected an good pop album at best but what I got was much better than that.

"Speechless" has quickly become one of my most played songs and I think it's songs like that, "Teeth" and "Brown Eyes" as well as more that really opened my eyes to how good she was. I was expecting many of the tracks to be very similar and all to have the same electro edge to them but hearing her more acoustic stuff too really showed how diverse she can be if she wants to.

I'm a little annoyed that "Telephone" is going to be the next single but also not surprised since it has a collaboration with such a big name, I'd say it's definitely one of the weaker tracks from the album(s) though.

I was also more than slightly annoyed when her local gig sold out just a couple of days before I actually came into some money and would have been able to afford to go. I get the feeling next time she comes around it will be a lot more expensive.

I also knew her before she was famous. I was neither for her or against her. I saw how she marketed herslef from early on amd knew that the catchiness of her songs would get her far.

Gaga has gotten huge nowadays and has blown up. This results in the one thing that I admire about her: The way she markets herself. She showed herself to the world willingly and it was odd to some people. She Just decided to be herself and she takes control of all her Music even'ts and videos, working tirelessly for her fans.

The effort that she puts in her performances and her openness is what made her a star. People who did and didn't like her, were indeed taking about her in some way, making her a megastar.

As for her songs. They aren't really anything special. They're all just regular songs, most of them being partying songs. I agree that they get tiring to her after a long while of hearing them everywhere! Music is something that you can't repeatedly hear and still love it. You will get tired of it eventually and Gaga has marketed herself out there to the point where evryone is playing her songs.

-this is a smart move, but it also makes people who aren't fans annoyed...

I think she's done good.

The problem with lady gaga is she does get awfully pushed onto people a lot which is what causes the heavy dislike for her, as an artist she isnt ALL that bad, as she is pretty creative and does a good job with the material she comes out with.

The problem is shes not actually all that great a singer, if anyone saw her live performance on the X-Factor, it was pretty bad, and the catchiness of her lyrics makes her instantly annoying when she gets paraded around everywhere.

To be perfectly honest, if she wasnt as controversial with the strange dresses she wears and some of the things she talks about during press confrences, I highly doubt she would be as popular as she is, She definatley puts on a heck of a show for the media circus and this is why she is constantly in the tabloids.

If it was all about her talent, I doubt we would hear all that much about her as we do.

I agree with this. She really can't sing all that well, imo. I didn't see her live performance but I can gather that from the two songs I've heard by her.

That being said, "Bad Romance" is catchy (damn you, Jess) and fun to sing. The only other song I've heard by her is "Poker Face" and although the chorus is catchy, I don't really care for the song.

I don't really have anything against her at this point but I'm not really a fan either.

Tbh, Lady Gaga isn't that great to me. Every interview that i've seen her in... she just seems annoying to me.
I like some of her songs but, they aren't like "O-M-G!" like seriously D=
some of her songs are annoying as well and shes not that amazing vocally imo.

"Just Dance." was annoying for the fact that is all she says >_> i don't like songs like that.
"Bad Romance" is an annoying song as well. It's not the fact that the lyrics make no sense but the way it's sang :hmmm: or something... idunno.

Though there is a few songs I like, she just seems overrated over here and i'm tired of hearing about her and how shes soooooooooooo amazing.

I agree, I don't think she's anything special. Her songs just happen to be original and catchy. She isn't a particular great singer once you've sussed her and the lyrics on the whole are pretty poor, just catchy. "I want your ugly" :ffs: That being said, there's no one out there really to challenge her.

Well, she must be doing something right since she won THREE Brit Awards last night and the public have spoken over here since they voted in their massive numbers. :mokken:

I really enjoyed her live performance last night. Loved how she did Telephone and moved on to Dance In The Dark. It was a step up from her X Factor performance.

My flatmate's going to see her tomorrow in concert, I'm so jealous! :gasp:
