Anime Last Anime You Watched

The last anime I watched was season one of Darker The Black. Yes, I’m behind the band wagon since it came out in 2007, but nonetheless, I freaking LOVED it. Actually, I’ve watched the season twice and going on a third time while I wait for season two to come in the mail with the 4 OVAs.

I love the characters and how in depth each of them are. Although, that’s not to say that I hope in season three they answer some questions that remain in the open with some of them… Not to mention, the storyline is very intricate and involved for an anime that is solely based on that and doesn’t have a manga to fall back on. I love the whole story with the contractors and the stars; I think that’s just plain awesome.

The music is amazing, as to be expected of Yoko Kanno, and I was thoroughly impressed with the themes that abingdon boys school supplied for the show; I’m straight up addicted to HOWLING(Opening 1).

The animation style itself is beautiful, and there isn’t a single episode that doesn’t hold up to that. I know there are a few animes I can think of off hand that have an episode or two that just SUCKS when it comes to the animation, and this show is definitely not one of them. Although, Hei’s eyes sometimes irk me, haha. But that’s just his design.

All in all, if you’re like me and haven’t seen the show yet, I highly recommend that you do watch it; it’s fantastic.

As for what’s up next? With my excitement about the new Sailor Moon release, I think I’m going to rewatch that series.

P.S- If anyone would like to recommend something to me, feel free. Want to know what I’ve missed? I haven’t watched a “new” anime since the release of Romeo x Juliet. Before Darker Than Black it was the last thing I’d seen aside from older stuff. Haha.

I'm currently watching the persona 4 anime, that lots of fun, been rewatching season 1 of Sailor Moon as well, that epic to watch as always  :inlove:

I just finished a few of the anime airing last season in preparation for the Summer 2012 line of anime.

Sankarea: This one's definitely going to get a second season with the way they ended this. Looking forward to it.

Nazo no Kanojo X: The premise was a little strange, but it was an enjoyable anime, nonetheless. There's potential for a second season, but I was satisfied with the current ending. The manga's still going so, I'll probably check out that.

Fate/Zero: Great ending. Makes me want to play Fate/Stay Night again. Now we just need UFOtable to do a Heaven's Feel anime.

New This Season:

Yuru Yuri Season 2: Cute, moe, yuri. Akari~n! Yuru Yuri hajimaru yo!

Moyashimon Returns: Really liked the first season of this anime. It's been a while. Learn about microbes!

I'm actually relatively new to anime since I could never get into it in the past, but I'm going through a few series now and have several on my lists. If anyone has any good suggestions for a psychological/darker anime please let me know :)

Anyway, I just got done with both seasons of Code Geass. And it was very good. I think the story was very interesting though it kind of dragged on a bit at some points, in my opinion. I'm not too big into mecha anime. It's just not my cup of tea. But the story and the characters were good enough for me to look passed it. Now I'm going through Elfen Lied which is......interesting. To say the least. lol

Last anime that I finished was Deadman Wonderland. While the anime itself was incredibly gruesome (the weapons that the people fought with was blood), I really enjoyed the plotline. Almost every character in the show that you get introduced to has some sort of importance. The only downside is how big of a cliffhanger the anime was. I'm going to have to find the manga / read it online to see how the story is legitimately concluded.

I would highly recommend this anime to anyone that watches anime <3.

@Addle: I don't think it's getting a second season, though I heard the ending wasn't very good (haven't watched the last episode yet). I know it's getting one more OVA in November with the next manga volume, though, so may be that'll clear up the ending.

I finished watching Neon Genesis Evangelion. It was good, but the last two episodes were very shit. Thankfully End of Evangelion exists and corrected that.

EDIT: Just finished Sankarea and yeah pretty sure they'll do a second season since they haven't exactly finished up a few things, and one OVA won't do that justice. Maybe next year.

HeartCatch Precure. I cannot believe the fans voted for this one as their favourite series...Suite Precure is infinitely superior. I've been quite disappointed with it thus far; I was expecting something rather epic, given how AMAZING Suite was, and for this to be voted as better should have meant something, right? As it turns out, the fandom is the same as any other when it comes to hyping the mediocre. Dark Precure is badass, but she doesn't have anywhere near as much character as Cure Beat did, and it's just...not as good, in any department. Probably because the theme isn't as good. A music theme meant there was a focus on music, and the OST for Suite was AMAZING. Not quite so good this time around.

...I do like Cure Sunshine, though. The art style is starting to grow on me as well...reminds me a bit of Powerpuff Girls.

I also watched Sengoku BASARA: The Last Party the other day. Best anime film ever. Although I wish the fansubbers could have taken off their yuri goggles whilst they subbed it...the script is FILLED with bromance hints, and whilst Ieyasu talking about bonds and nothing else is legitimate, I doubt Keiji called Yukimara "the guy who makes the One-Eyed Dragon happy" in it. xD

my friend recommended i watch spice and wolf. the show is really good.. not exactly my forte of what i normally watch.. but this show is pretty freaking addicting.. Holo reminds me of someone i know in real life.. and the main character kinda reminds me of myself.. but i dig it.

Wolf's Rain: http://myanimelist.net/anime/202/Wolfs_Rain

Ergo Proxy: http://myanimelist.net/anime/790/Ergo_Proxy

And the Kara no Kyoukai movies: http://myanimelist.net/anime/2593/Kara_no_Kyoukai_1:_Fukan_Fuukei

I tried watching Smile Precure but I only got one episode in and haven't had the motivation to continue yet. ;n;

Started watching Haruhi which is pretty good. I'm about 7 episodes in and it's way different than I expected.

Rental Magica

Found it on netflix a few nights ago, it been my 'watch to finish me off before bed' thing, really good anime, and it even in japanese (netflix just got +10 awesome points) Sora ni Saku 'it opening theme' is just pure epic as well

I tried to watch Amnesia...summat summat. It's about a guy who meets a ghost and they solve mysteries around the school. Normally, this is my kind of series, but this one just bored me shitless in the first few episodes so it was quickly dropped :)

I just finished watching Darker Than Black: Gaiden; the four OVAs for the series.
While I enjoyed all of the love and attention to the pairing on Yin & Hei, I was kind of disappointed. But that all depends on how the second season goes, I guess, to see if it stays that way.

Episode 23 of Smile Precure.

...like, wow. This show just got amazing. I haven't seen a mid-season finale this good in a magical girl anime since the days of Sailor Moon. A lengthy, brutal battle with the throwaway generals (what the HELL happened to Majorina?!) in which they were defeated in rather spectacularly violent fashion, followed by Princess Mode and one of the most amazing ALL YOUR COLOURS COMBINED attacks ever. That was epic beyond belief. Plus...I love gratuitous use of English in anime. xD

Whilst next week's episode looks set to return to mediocrity, I have high expectations for the future of this show, and I'm actually looking forward to the movie now. Don't let me down. PLEASE don't let me down.

I've been making my way through Angel Beats, which is based on another Key novel like Clannad, Kanon and AIR! :yay:

I was a little skeptical at first, as the opening episode was...well, not quite what I was looking for, but it's gotten better and better; the reviews are correct in stating that it becomes a different anime by the end! I have roughly 4 episodes left out of 13, so it's a short anime but fast paced. Some have argued that the length of the anime means you can't identify with a number of the characters, but I don't particularly lament this. :hmmm: I don't feel we should care for ALL of them; I do care for those who are important within the plot. :)

The story is rather fun - a bit of a mix, but it's well produced. The characters are all likeable; one's fondness for Angel and Yui grows over time as you discover more about their history. The character arcs unfold at a steady pace. The animation is B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L! :yay: The music is pretty good too; the opening song is melodic and lovely!

The last anime I watched was Death Note. I thought it was an all right show but I wish they had more episodes or even a better story line to extend the plot. I also watched Bleach for a while but it was getting to annoying to keep track of what episode and trying to find it dubbed online. It was a good anime show though.
