Black Butler

It is so awesome. Of course I've been reading the manga, but I was still blown away by the action scenes - Sebastian's so much more fluid now! Ah! And flawless, too! The voice actors for Seal Phantomhive and Sebastian Michealis are a good fit - can't wait to watch more :P

EDIT: Sebastian's my favorite character :randompoke:

I'm presently juggling Futari Wa Pretty Cure with Neon Genesis Evangelion...the latter of which I might drop, because honestly, coming off the Rebuild movies, it just isn't very good. I started watching it to get a better appreciation of the movies, but it's been a rather sour experience thus far. The original Pretty Cure, on the other hand, has been quite good...I've started to warm up to it a little, now that the two lead protagonists have some actual chemistry. It's nice that they took the time to develop their friendship in the series, though.

At the moment though, I feel like watching Noein again...

Fruits Basket!

I honestly don't care that some people think that series is girly. I know of enough guys that like it as much as I do to not be worried, and in fact it was a guy that first introduced me to it during its original run in 2001 :P Back then I had no idea what was going on and thought it was kind of weird, but I finally got around to checking it out on Hulu and it's just great.

I've been catching up with the Hellsing OVA, since the latest few episodes have been released in dub...finally. The tenth and final episode is due out on the 26th of next month...that's going to make an awesome Christmas present; I have been waiting six years for them to finish this blasted anime :hmph:

Still Hellsing OVA dub > sub. The voice acting is top quality and, whilst I think they might have changed Zorin Blitz's VA (or made her sound more like a German female Terminator rather than a posh German man...hmmm...) it was gratifying to see her get her brain matter plastered across the wall...and, of course, there is Crispin Freeman as Alucard, which is pretty much his defining role. I would swear that Liam O'Brien was a random vampire nazi, as well. xD

I see Sengoku Basara: The Last Party has been dubbed, as well...I maaaaay watch that this afternoon. Although I honestly don't think much of the Basara dub; part of the reason I love the series so much is because of how over-exaggerated the Japanese is...and Vic Micwhatever makes the worst possible voice actor imaginable for Akechi Mitsuhide. He's a crap VA in general, never mind letting him play a scythe-wielding maniac...and Nobunaga loses so much by not being voiced by Norio Wakamoto. But still...it's a good way to kill an afternoon. xD

I would highly suggest you finish the original series and End of Evangelion because they are very good :mokken: It starts kind of slow but gets better later on, and Rebuild's plot is a lot different starting at 2.0 for a reason. Also I hope you're not watching it dubbed because that would just be torturing yourself.

3.0 BLURAYS WHEN :sad3:

There's nothing wrong with the Evangelion dub...I've heard worse. It's just a poorly-written series. That the movies deviate so much from it explain why the movies are so good and the series isn't...

Screw the movie, though. I just want the soundtrack. 4 days to go! :yay:

Still watching Futari Wa Pretty Cure here. It's dragging on a bit, but that's probably because I'm only watching one episode a day, and it's 49 episodes long. I need to step up my watching speed a little. I'm watching Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei in the evenings now, though. I felt the need for a laugh, and it doesn't get much funnier than that show...except maybe OniAi, but that's funny for entirely different reasons...

Madoka Magica for the fifth time. I LOVE IT YET IT HURTS ME SO.
Every time I cry a little more.

Next Wednesday I'm going to see the Madoka Magica movies since they're playing at a local theater here. Should be good. This season is finishing up and I've been keeping up with Robotics;Notes, Chuu2Koi, SAO, and From the New World. Everything else I put on hold because I don't have the time or patience to watch more than a few shows. All of those shows are great and SAO and Chuu2 are ending this week so that'll be good.

I watched the Evangelion 3.0 camprip last week and it was quite good, but not as good as 2.0. To avoid spoilers, I really like how they portrayed this part of the story, but it still felt somewhat lackluster to me. I hope 4.0 is great, though.

At the moment, I'm watching Futari Wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, which I should have finished by now, but I didn't watch much anime over Christmas, so I'm behind a little bit on my imaginary anime schedule that now has a terrifying backlog. Still not quite over my Precure obsession; with Smile ending this week (subs when?!) and DokiDoki starting next week (the designs alone mean I'm going to religiously follow this) I doubt it'll end anytime soon. This is better than the first season, but it's still not as good as the later seasons...like Suite. The inclusion of Lulun - on top of Porun, who I already loathed - makes me want to scream, as well.

I've also been watching Noein for the millionth time, because it's amazing, and I've started watching Aikatsu! because I need something utterly random to occupy my time. Not sure I go much on it, though...it's a little TOO sugary for my tastes. Not overly keen on this idol obsession Japan has going on.

i'm watching Mirai Nikki at the moment, it been really good at the moment, the opening theme is awesome as well :), but man, Yuno cute....... but....... I NEED A RESTRAINING ORDER NOWWW!!!!!

i'm also watching Accel World, i been informed that it a bit like sword art online as it about a mmo. been really intresting sooo far, like the theme of friendships it has in it, also the main character is different to other characters :)

SAO and AW were both written by the same author and take place in the same universe (about 20 years apart, though). I feel AW was executed better than SAO, though, because SAO got really damn boring throughout most of the ALO arc, and I don't know if they have plans to adapt the rest of the novels for either show.

umineko no naku koro ni

Oh wow, I kid you not that I just typed the following post out before seeing your post:

---------------------------------------

I've gone back to Higurashi no naku koro ni again, like I do pretty much every year. It's still not gotten old for me, and it's so bloody. For those who don't know, it's like a horror mystery anime where there's a different killer every few episodes. The setting is a rural, tiny village where there's a pretty big emphasis on everyone and everything being innocent...at first.

I'm gonna be watching Higurashi Kai next, which is the 2nd series. It's a bit less bloody, but the story is much more involved and you get to see why all the killings are happening etc. Love that one too.

Then there's Umineko no naku koro ni, which I love too (even though a lot of people seem to hate it). It's from the same makers as Higurashi and is a sort of half-sequel (where some of the characters are back but a bit different). It's based on an island and a mansion that's on it. Death everywhere once again. I'd like to buy the DVD for this one (like I have with those other 2), but it's either incredibly expensive or not in stock on the more reliable sites.

Anyways, I'd recommend these 3 to anyone who likes this kinda dark anime full of mystery and death.

P.S. I just realised how emo this post sounded. How depressing :p

---------------------------------------------------

What do you think of Umineko licky? I looove how overdramatic it is and how the little girl is so evil :lew:

I haven't watched anime in a while, but I'm on Fairy Tail. I'm nearing the end of the Galuna Island arc, I think.

Oh and I also of course love higurashi ^ ^ nipa

I'm currently watching Bleach from where I was left off at. Is been a while since I watch this anime do to the waiting for the new dubbed episodes to come out. Now I am watching the new episodes daily.

I've recently started watching Jormungand after basically watching no anime for six months. I'm really pleasantly surprised. It reminds me alot of Black Lagoon but with a few more interesting characters overall. It's unfortunetly episodic, but still makes a damn fine job of keeping me interested. Definetly going to finish this and watch the second season.
