League of Roleplayers

Hi ya'll. Just wanted to say that I may be a little slow when it comes to posting but I still can read everything. I won't be posting regularly like I used to( like I did about a year ago xD) but yea I have a lot of RL stuff to do and a small business to run so I'm pretty busy these days! ^^ I hope ya'll can forgive my late postyness. ;-;

I might be a little slow at times as well. Gonna have to travel a lot to go back to uni in a few days. But after that should be back to active ;)

To all involved in the SFR RP, La Guerre de Cent Ans

I will be ending SFR's hiatus in the coming days. Now that I'm out of the rut, I think we can get back to business on this story.

Got a question i wanted to ask. Say if someone went to stab your character with a sword or spear. You let your character purposefully tank the hit, so it basically goes through you (critical area or not). Can you say you grab his weapon and lock him in place? Or do you still have to go "And went to grab his weapon, hoping to lock his weapon inside him"?

Depends on if:

a. It's not a mortal wound and he doesn't die...
b. If the guy who stabbed the other one is stupid enough to keep holding on to his weapon.
c. If he can last long enough to take out the possibly unarmed opponent.

Well, its not going to be mortal wound. Its obvious because if it was, he'd be dead and grabbing the weapon is kinda moot.

Thing is, most people dont expect the opponent to let them stab them. So what i was asking moreso was whether it would be allowed for the stabbed character to grab the sword instead of waiting for the opponent to react. I truly dont believe anyone can preempt fast enough to stab and pull the weapon out before the guy can grab it. Particularly if the guy planned on getting stabbed.

As for taking out the unarmed target, depending on where he is stabbed, a soldier can still fight if he keeps the wound blocked up, albeit not for long. Moreso with characters with high resilience.

The one problem i have is that some rpers (generalising. No one in particular) insist of never being hit and never failing, that their character is superior. In that case, i can see them stab the guy deep and then pull it out within half a second rather than be realistic and let the guy succeed in the grab

Didn't I do something similar with one of my million orcs in Fantasia? I think I let elviria land a hit and then tried to counter.

Talking about never dying, I'm throwing my puppets away all the time :D At the same time, it never hurts to throw a puppet away ae. Because I can always " buy" another puppet.

Oh and I basically got 3 chars, so some can always die and I can still continue RPing ;) (although I just realised that my 2 mains are the ultimate I'm not gonna dies. One is ultra def mode mage and other will always run away .... duh ... I gotta figure something cool to kill either of them.)

EDIT: I actually made this post to mention that for next 48 hours u wont see me. Got massive exam tomorrow and drinking after that ... Enjoy ;)

the diff here is that that orc is expendable

im talking player vs player. Main player versus main player, not unnamed no profile characters.

In that case, it would be possible to just grab the sword upon being stabbed. So long as the blade isn't sharp and he/she loses all his/her fingers.

Well, if my main dies, he/she dies...I'm not going to really bitch about unless he/she is vital to the story. If its a main and he/she just sits idly by, then yes. I can kill em off at the earliest convience and I won't lose sleep about it. I'll just replace him/her.

...Damn, I sound like Joesph Stalin.

Glad to see this group is still somewhat alive...Any projects going on? I might come back full time

Probably. You best give Valkyrur a buzz or pm

On another note, we really should do the tag thing or have some sort of subscribe thingy wen we post here, cuz most people jump straight to the author and miss posts taht occur here. That always happen to me.

Edit: there is already a subscribe button under threat tools. Just realised

Well, welcome, Izanagi. I guess a copy-paste is in line.

I expect you will now understand the consequence of now being a Guild. (Muahahahahahahahaha)

.. That is, to have as much as fun through role playing, and providing a great experience to others as well as yourself.

You would do well to bear the first post of this thread in mind, and perhaps, take pleasure in the fact your name's now up there. When you join role plays, please be as active as you can, and notify others if life decided to throw you a punch.

Just make sure to notify others if you would be absent for a period of time. It is rather irritating to actually encounter someone who simply vanishes into thin air without at least telling the others. The role play would then rot away and die, unless the members are still around and keen on reviving it.

... That said.. Welcome! :D

Aha. It's been quite a while since I last copy pasted this.

Just saying that I have returned from my eternal slumber. Won't be joining anything new before I am done with Fantasia and exams :P
