Episode 20 - I'm Going Home!

https://youtu.be/ZkZHYsgoKdc

Hey there folks, we're heading back to our hometown of Vale this time to check up on things! I wonder if any more boulders have fallen? :lew:

Anyways, there's plenty to do here now. Whirlwind those bushes on the walls, check up on your mother (and Garet's family) and finally there's a new djinni in the Vale Cave! His name is Kite and he's extra special. Please be extra nice to him 'cause he gives a character two turns in a round meaning 2 revives in a round, if needed!

Oh! The best thing is that the barn is now unlocked! I'll leave it you to see exciting stuff is in there! Well worth the wait :).

Wait wait wait, I forgot to mention our trip over to Bilibin Cave (by Imil). We now have the psynergy to grab the remaining stuff from there.

Thanks for watching! See you next time when we return to plotty stuff and actually progress with the game from the port at Kalay :).

Episode 21 - The Dangers Of Karagol Lake

https://youtu.be/CpC08vgjnhM

Hey there peoples, it's time for us to finally carry on with the main story and see what Karagol Lake has for us! I always thought it was the sea when I was little. Shows how much I paid attention to the story lmao!

Along the ever so peaceful voyage, we have an ever so peaceful Kraken come to say hi and have some tea. Or something.

--------------------------------------

Kraken Strategy:

- Set all fire djinn before the fight. Summon the most powerful fire summon first thing!
- Use fire magic all the way through. It's strange (you'd think its weakness would be lightning) but fire is its weakness.
- Boost resistance and defence.
- Use moves that cause stun, delude and sleep. They all have pretty good odds of working ;)

--------------------------------------

A pretty tough boss, that. If you don't have a decent number of djinn by now and some decent equipment. Speaking of djinn, we nab Ground this time around too! He's a new Venus djinni to welcome to the family :).

Thanks for watching folks! See you next time when we see just what Tolbi has to offer :).

Episode 22 - Gambling Is Bad!

https://youtu.be/m_dvJAQvqq0

Hey there folks! We mainly stick around Tolbi and check out all the fun and games that are on offer here, along with some of the amazing rewards this time around :D. Don't worry, I found the lucky wheels minigame for the next episode :/.

Along with progressing plot, we also find Ember and Hail; a mars and mercury djinni respectively :).

Thanks for watching folks! See you next time for the Altmiller Cave! I hope we can find Babi :s.

Episode 23 - In The Shadows

https://youtu.be/RxXWNeM8Xlk

Hey there folks, welcome to Altmiller Cave! This place gives us something that no other cave in the game has so far: darkness. Weird that ha. We may not have Flash but we do have Reveal ;).

Within the cave there's a djinni known as Squall. This is a good damaging Jupiter djinni who can also paralyze/stun an enemy. Handy for those djinni who like to run away!

Oh yeah, I also found the lucky reels minigame in Tolbi, so we use up all of our lucky tickets for some pretty good equipment ;).

Thanks for watching folks! See you all next time for possibly my favourite part of the game! :D

P.S. The capture card decided to play up while recording this one so I ended up having to re-record the entire thing. I hope nothing is compromised in terms of quality or commentary :s.

Episode 24 - Shadow Of The Colosso!

https://youtu.be/QrinX98QrPo

Hey there folks, what we have here is a slightly longer episode to show off what is probably my favourite part of the game: the Colosso! Since we saved Babi in the Altmiller Cave, we are now shot-putted right into the tournament finals :D. This involves races, minigames, a wee bit of strategy and a few fights against bomberman lookalikes ha!

I remember when I was little and wouldn't leave this place without becoming 1st place just in case I missed a djinni. I used to be ever so paranoid about missing those :s.

Thanks for watching folks! See you next time when we start some more sidequests for 2 episodes! :)

P.S. There's also some plot. A fair bit of it lol. I guess that's pretty important to point out too :/.

Episode 25 - Dodonpa's Cavern

https://youtu.be/bfTTDXaZrgE

Hey there folks! Since the start of the game, Ivan has been pining over his lost Hammet. Now's the time to finally take on a sidequest that takes us back to Lunpa, the town hiding the greatest thief :D. And no, you don't resolve this pretty major story arc if you only play through the main game. A strange game design choice, that one lol.

Anyways, today we head through the Gondowan Cave, which is pretty quick but really good for exp. Then there's the Lunpa Cave to sneak into the town of Lunpa (surprisingly!). We can't forget about the actual meat of this episode though: the caves where the kidnapped people are kept, including Hammet! Lunpa Fortress is why you needed to beat the colosso first: you need cloak! ;)

Thanks for watching folks! I'll see you next time for the rest of this sidequest! *mumble* optional boss *mumble* ;).

Episode 26 - Operation: Rescue Master Hammet!

https://youtu.be/zkh-yYmzW4E

Hey there chucks and chucklets! What you see here is the remainder of our attempt at saving Hammet! Ivan, you lucky dog, you're lucky I like you! ;)

Trouble is that Dodonpa has other plans for his little "money tree", so we have something to deal with that first...

------------------------------------------

Toadonpa Strategy:

- Fire is his weakness so get your Garet in gear!
- He heals himself for 80hp per turn so try to set up your defences etc at the start and then go for heavy hitting moves afterwards (summons are your best bet).
- Nothing much else to talk about. Go for broke! ;)

------------------------------------------

Don't forget to go back through Lunpa Fortress after the boss (and after you've seen the scene in the Lunpa Cave). You'll want the mercury djinni you can get there: Tonic. It removes all status ailments from your party, including haunt which can only be removed by backtracking to a town sanctuary otherwise :).

Other than that, we head back to Kalay since the sewers have all been unlocked for us to explore and nab the treasures. Thanks Hammet! We also find a lucky medal, so we make a really quick pitstop in Tolbi.

Thanks for watching! See you next time for when we actually progress with the main story! :lew:

Episode 27 - Just Watering My Tornadoes

https://youtu.be/lT8EOouvPBc

Hey there folks, we're finally leaving the whole Tolbi area and seeing what's across the Gondowan Passage!

There are quite a few things actually, since we're moving onto a hot, desert-like area for the rest of the game. First up is the town of Suhalla! There's not a lot here; just like a desert, the town is ever so barren. There are no djinn, no weapon or armour shops. It's just an inn and somewhere to talk to a few people. It gives some good atmosphere for things to come though: it's...hot.

We also tackle the 2nd and last desert of the game: Suhalla Desert! This one is much better than the 1st desert we checked out a long time back. There's no heat bar nor are there oases to worry about. It's all good. There is however a gimmick that you would need to talk to the NPCs of Suhalla village to know how to avoid. Douse those tornadoes! You'll have a quick fight and get to carry on without being taken back to Suhalla :). However, one tornado will chase you towards the end...

-------------------------------------------

Storm Lizard Strategy:

- Use fire and earth spells to hit its weakness. Strange...I would have thought it would be weak to water, being in a desert lol. It should be used to the heat of fire?
- Keep healed up and get your protection djinn on the go too.
- Summons are always useful :).

-------------------------------------------

Make sure to keep an eye out for Flash as you traverse the desert too. It's such a handy little mars djinni.

Thanks for watching folks! Maybe we'll find Sheba next time? ;)

Episode 28 - Carry Me To Venus

https://youtu.be/E1sNEkCJyaQ

Hey there folks! We make some decent progress here for such a short video. First off, we take on the Suhalla Gate, which is simple enough even if you go for Dew, the mercury djinni. By the way, that djinni revives a character so you really don't want to miss it :D. There's actually an optional scene here too which we check out; interesting and expands on the ending a little bit :).

We also find out that the Venus Lighthouse is going to be a bit more complicated than it first seems! There's a double dungeon thing going on, but this time around we go as far as possible and open up a path in the Babi Lighthouse. More on that next time! ;)

Thanks for watching folks! See you in a bit for the last town in the game: Lalivero! We may make more use of our newly discovered Carry psynergy too :).

Episode 29 - Lalivero And The Lighthouse

https://youtu.be/HQKwpNyrsPg

Hey there folks, we've made it to the last town of the game: Lalivero! This desert town is very similar to Suhalla but there's more going on here. Some amazing shops with some of the best equipment in the game. Our last mars djinni: Torch. Some other stuff worth checking out ;).

We also head on over to Babi Lighthouse and do pretty much everything there; this is the other half of the double lighthouse dungeons. Following this path will lead us on over to the other side of the electric fence in the Venus Lighthouse that we saw before :).

Oh! Within the Babi Lighthouse is the final Jupiter djinni too! Luff is his name and he has the occasionally handy ability to seal an enemy's psynergy (or silence them to the more Final Fantasy playing folk). Just one more djinni to find! C'mon Isaac, we'll catch you up to the others one of these days! ;)

Thanks for watching folks! We'll prove we can open that door next time and move back on over to the Venus Lighthouse :).

Episode 30 - The Venus Sisters

https://youtu.be/FcMuFXfZgtA

Hey there folks, here's the final dungeon! Today, we're climbing the Venus Lighthouse and making it all the way to the top! There's quite a bit involved, but just to keep things simple, we take on the puzzle involving the Venus Sisters statues (my personal name for them lmao) and a few other puzzles involving movable floor tiles. There's also the matter of a tonne of sand everywhere :s.

By the way, in the vid I say that if you leave via the electrical barrier/fence, then you can return through there. That's not true. The electricity starts back up once you leave so deactivating is just making a shortcut out of the lighthouse. If you leave, you'll need to go back through the Babi Lighthouse entrance and do most of the Venus Lighthouse dungeon again :).

Oh yeah, we also retreat once we reach the top and make our way through the Suhalla Desert to the tornado that leads to the Crossbone Isle; the optional super dungeon that we could have started back when we crossed the monster-filled lake on the ship.

Thanks for watching folks! 3 sidequest episodes incoming to take care of Crossbone Isle! :)

Episode 31 - Crossing Bones

https://youtu.be/SP_yXjcrnRY

Hey there folks, for the next 3 episodes we'll be taking care of Golden Sun's optional super dungeon: Crossbone Isle!

When it comes to most JRPGs, the super dungeons are normally extremely tedious and that puts me off, but this one is pretty quick and isn't too difficult so long as your equipment is up to date from Lalivero :). I'll leave you to check out the first 6 floors here but I do want to point out that Bane (our last Venus djinni...hell, our last djinni) is on the 6th floor. Worth nabbing for a good amount of damage and that stat increase :). Also, these "bosses" so far shouldn't cause any problems. They do get tougher but not too bad...except maybe the superboss at the end ;).

Thanks for watching folks! See you next time for the remaining 3 (not 4 like I say in the vid lol) puzzle floors :).

Episode 32 - The Remaining Bones

https://youtu.be/ST7Ars1yL0U

Hey there folks, I'll keep it short this time since there isn't really much to say. This time around we take on floors 7-9 of Crossbone Isle, the optional major dungeon of the game! These floors are tougher and everything so it's not something I found all that easy :s.

Thanks for watching folks! We'll be taking on the superboss next time and wrapping up the island! See you there! :)

Episode 33 - Captain Deadbeard's Wrath!

https://youtu.be/CGBOR-ow3Uo

Hey there folks, welcome to the last of the sidequest episodes! This time around we're checking out the superboss of Crossbone Isle.

--------------------------------------

Captain Deadbeard Strategy:

- Use earth magic to hit his weakness.
- Avoid using water magic for the opposite reason.
- Go for broke with level 4 summons. They deal a tonne of damage even against this guy.
- Keep healed up.
- Make sure to use a djinni per turn that prevents some damage. Ground, Corona etc.
- Watch out for his two attacks per turn. He can also remove all status buffs you might have.

--------------------------------------

And with that, we have earned the reward for doing all that work! I mean, I find the djinni and exp better than what you actually get at the end but at least we're done! ;)

Thanks for watching! Back to the rest of the game now! 2 episodes left until the end of the series :).

Episode 34 - Our Enemies Combined!

https://youtu.be/rQrUVesKNaM

Hey there folks, I was gonna try and get Meltigemini in that title, like from FF9, but decided to go a bit more simplistic in the end :s.

Anyways! This time around we take on the final bosses at Venus Lighthouse!

-----------------------------------------

Saturos and Menardi Strategy:

- Set 4 djinn per character before the fight to start with 4 level 4 summon attacks.
- Try to have 3 djinn per character used before you kill off these two. You'll be glad you did ;).
- Attack with Garet and Isaac.
- Heal and support with Ivan and Mia.

-----------------------------------------

Fusion Dragon Strategy:

- Use those summons that you set those djinn for in the previous boss(es).
- Keep using your djinn to bring out level 4 summons when possible.
- Use a damage reducing djinni per turn if possible (Ground, Corona etc).
- Heal a lot. Use your water of lifes and psy crystals if you need to, though remember that if you plan to play the 2nd game and transfer your save data then you can keep them for that. Risky during this fight though!

-----------------------------------------

And that's about it really! Thanks for watching! I'll see you next time when we check out all the end game plot and credits. If you're planning to play or check out the 2nd Golden Sun game after this then I'd recommend watching the last episode too. It's way more than just credits and holds some really important plot :).

Episode 35 ~Thanks For Watching!~

https://youtu.be/i5EOKBR-H60

Hey there peoples, here's the last episode of Golden Sun! The vid has the credits along with the rest of the plot that needs to be watched if you're intending on joining me with Golden Sun: the Lost Age in a few weeks time :).

We also check out the password system for transferring our save over to the sequel. I've got that all written down and everything...it's a bit of a pain to experience, honestly lol.

Thank you so much for joining me on this journey! I've loved making it so much and it's good to have some people commenting and stuff: motivation! :lew:. I'll see you around for our horror October hopefully? It'll be starting before October but still lmao.

Thanks again for watching! See you in a bit :).
