Let's Play Golden Sun: The Lost Age! [All Djinn][FIN]

Episode 19 - A Dance With Dragons

https://youtu.be/Du5PcJ0oAzc

Hey there folks, our 3rd "rock" dungeon turns out to be the rocky one! Gaia Rock is possibly the easiest of the lot but it does have a boss towards the end. Before that though, there's the matter of weakening it with the dancing idol and finding all the light sources!

-----------------------------------------

Serpent Strategy:

- This one is weak to wind psynergy, so use that with Sheba.
- The most special thing about this boss is that he has two turns per round! So, keep Jenna on healing duty. Heal everyone every turn.
- Since it can heal itself for a good 300 HP per turn, try to set up your defences before going all out on the attack (Iron, Kindle, Steam, Shade).
- Ragnorok is great here since it's single target. You could just focus on using your djinn and getting your most powerful summons out instead though :s.

-----------------------------------------

Once that tough boss is out of the way and we're back at Izumo Village, we also nab Coal; a new mars djinni! There may not have been a djinni in the dungeon but this one is nearby so it's all good ;).

Thanks for watching! See you next time when we make use of our new Sand psynergy! Alundra flashbacks for sure ha! :)

Episode 20 - Faces In The Sand

https://youtu.be/KKQyuhqy2lQ

Hey peoples, now that we've gotten the Sand psynergy, a few new paths have opened up to us! First up is the optional dungeon within Izumo Village. This place is short as hell, but it has the Ulysses summon along with a really good piece of armour :). We also nab Haze, a Jupiter djinni who resides back at Apojii Island; the effect of this djinni makes one character invisible for the turn and always activates at the start, regardless of your party member's agility stat :).

Otherwise, we head on over to the Ankohl Ruins for the left and final prong of the trident! This place is so much fun with the interesting sand puzzles. One of my favourite dungeons regardless of my usual disinterest in sandy areas in games :).

Thanks for watching! We'll have to combine our 3 trident prongs next time in order to make use of it as a key item! See you around! :)

Two episodes today since the last upload day saw issues with the forum :).

-----------------------------------------

Episode 21 - Visiting Grandma

https://youtu.be/asgcUz9504A

Hey there folks, today is a tonne of plot really (just look at that video length to see just how much lmao). We're finally making the trident with the 3 prongs we collected around the eastern sea ;). To do that though, we need to finally fix that ship way back in Alhafra dock. Next up is the town of Champa, which is interesting in that the people live in ships and cave walls. There's also a certain thief's nan...

-----------------------------------------

Avimander Strategy:

- This guy is weak to water, so Piers is up!
- It has two turns per round, just like the serpent at Gaia Rock.
- Set up your stats with Iron, Steam, Kindle and Shade djinn.
- Use all your best summons but not Jenna's fire ones.

-----------------------------------------

Thanks for watching! With the trident made we'll be making use of it next time! It's gonna be a corker of an episode...with a corker of a length on it! :s

-----------------------------------------

Episode 22 - The Sea Of Time

https://youtu.be/uIGvvFpvtyU

Hey there peoples, we've spent a tonne of the game making the trident and now it's time to use it!

The Sea Of Time isn't an easy place (it's a hell of a maze) but we heard a song back in Yallam that will help us through. It's still not that simple even with that song though :s. In fact, there's even a boss at the end that requires you to have the trident to beat it!

-----------------------------------------------

Poseidon Strategy:

- Start by using the trident to break his barrier.
- Use your support djinni (in the same turn as the trident).
- He gets 3 turns per round, so he can be tough! Heal every turn with Jenna.
- Fire summons are great if you get the opportunity to use them. Otherwise, any summon will do :).
- He can 1 hit KO a character by drowning them. Revive as quickly as possible.

-----------------------------------------------

With the toughest boss in the game to date down, we have finally made it to Lemuria! It's a weird little town with a tonne of plot so I'll leave it to you to check all that out :). This is also where you get to use all those lucky medals you've saved up for some great equipment and a summon, if you're lucky!

Finally, we nab Rime on the way out; a mercury djinni.

Thanks for watching! See you next time where we'll start shortening the episodes since this plot section (Champa and Lemuria) are all out of the way, ready for more gameplay elements :).

Episode 23 - I like Turtles And Swamps

https://youtu.be/z8QCO-ebot8

Hey there folks, I just want to make the summary nice and quick today :). This time around, we're wrapping up all the optional stuff in the Eastern Sea (well, all that we can do now which is most of it). From the trading sidequest for an optional dungeon (yay, Meld Venus djinni!) to the Taopo Swamp, which is another optional dungeon lmao! We nab the Flower Venus djinni and plenty more there! We also check out the blacksmith again since we're going through Yallam anyways :).

Thanks for watching! Back to the main game next time! :)

P.S. Cute li'l turtle finds a home :'(. Good ol' turtle.

Episode 24 - Shaming The Shaman!

https://youtu.be/RnUc31ZGmng

Hey there folks, we're done with the optional stuff in the eastern sea, for now, so it's time to see what's in the west! Loads of stuff actually.

For now though, we're going through the Shaman Village Cave for a sec and then checking out the Shaman Village itself! If you liked the coliseum in the first game, then you'll like this. It's very similar :).

-------------------------------------------

Moapa Strategy:

- It's a basic fight, so the usual healing, use of djinn and summons works really well.
- If you want, you can stun and use other status ailments on the knights either side of him.
- I'd say to just focus on Moapa himself though and get it all done with single target moves. The knights will be easier on their own.

-------------------------------------------

With a nice reward for all this, we can explore a tonne more of the western sea!

Here are the djinn we nab this time around: Core (Mars), Aroma (Jupiter) and Petra (Venus). You especially don't want to miss Aroma, since it restores the PP of the entire party. Petra is also decent since it makes one enemy skip their turn by turning them to stone ;).

Thanks so much for watching! The other major continent needs some major exploration done on it next time! :)

Episode 25 - Archers Of Jupiter

https://youtu.be/9lzU73Sn6LE

Hey peoples, we've finally made it to the Jupiter Lighthouse! It's taken a good chunk of Lost Age to make it here, but we did it! It's actually such a tough dungeon, with loads to think about as you need special keys and to find a few stone archers to help lift what is blocking you from just chucking in that Jupiter star :). We make it a fair ways in this time around.

Oh! Before that, we find the tricky to find Atteka Inlet and see a brand new town: Contigo! Both these places have some new djinn, but for now we can only nab Salt, the Venus djinni in Contigo :).

Thanks for watching! See you next time for the rest of the tough Jupiter Lighthouse! :gasp2:

Episode 26 - Quick! Save Isaac!

https://youtu.be/DfmyjTj9fqs

Hey peoples, it's time to take on the rest of the Jupiter Lighthouse! I'm gonna keep this one short and sweet but I'll just say that it looks like Isaac and the rest of our old party are in trouble! Guess who's causing that trouble...

-----------------------------------------

Karst and Agatio Strategy:

- Want to speed through the game? Then just lose the fight! You'll miss out on exp and money but you don't have to win this battle ;).
- If you want to win, then hit their weaknesses with water.
- Wait for the whole party to arrive first though by defending and healing a tonne.
- Aim for one of them at a time and build your way up to summons to hit them both.
- Multiheal with Jenna.

-----------------------------------------

Thanks for watching! I'll keep this spoiler free but it's a pretty important plot point ;). See you next time! :)

P.S. I had huge trouble navigating this place. I hope you don't notice it too much since I tried to cut around it :).

Episode 27 - After Eights

https://youtu.be/69fFmLVwUbw

Hey peoples, a quick heads up that we're returning to form with daily episodes now that I'm all done recording this series! :D

Anyways, this episode is all about the new sidequests and a tonne of newly obtainable djinn now that we have a party of 8 ;). I think it'll be easier if I list them all here and just say they're from a tonne of different islands and areas around the world. The specifics are in the vid:

------------------------------------------------------

- Shine (Mars)
- Geode (Venus)
- Gasp (Jupiter)
- Tinder (Mars)
- Gel (Mercury)

------------------------------------------------------

We also take on an optional fight that you need to have beaten the first game and carried over your data to do, over in the Shaman Village Cave. It's worth checking out for the unique Golden Vest!

Oh! Our ship now has wings in order to hover over certain obstacles and actually go over land...kind of! It uses your party's PP up though so be careful or you'll end up with a crashed ship :s.

Thanks so much for watching! I may have missed one or two things out but...we do so much during this episode lol :/. See you tomorrow!

Episode 28 - Feeling Hot Hot Hot!

https://youtu.be/YnORKf7vNk8

Hey there folks, today is the day where we enter the 4th and final "rock" dungeon! Magma Rock is definitely...hot lol. Full of magma-spewing moai heads and lava-related puzzles :D.

Along with our main aim here of nabbing a new bit of psynergy for Jenna (Blaze), we also can't leave without the magma ball! It's needed to beat the game and progress to the next area. Oh! We also increase our djinn army with Fury, the mars djinni!

Thanks for watching peoples! We'll be heading up to the snowy lands next, that have the last town and dungeon of Golden Sun: The Lost Age! :)

P.S. I love Blaze. It's like spreading flames and we all love to burn things, don't we? In games, mind! Yes...in games 0_0.

Episode 29 - Rally-ho!

https://youtu.be/J0KmIRv3iUM

Hey there folks, a shorter episode today with the town of Dwarves: Loho! Say rally-ho to those trying to destroy the wall and maybe they'll hint at having to use that magma ball we found in Magma Rock! Kaboom! This earns us the cannon for our ship and a way to break down the ice wall in the Northern Reaches! We also nab a new jupiter djinni in Loho: Lull :).

Thanks for watching! See you next time when we check out the last town of the game along with making a start on the last dungeon of the game (not that we'll be finishing the game quite yet; there's way too much optional stuff that we've yet to explore!) :).

Episode 30 - Teleporting Through Mars Lighthouse

https://youtu.be/TuAL3LUaTFE

Hey there folks, are you ready to make a start on the final dungeon??? ;)

Mars Lighthouse is a tough old place but I find Jupiter Lighthouse harder personally. Lots of fire and fire-related puzzles as you'd expect, though funnily enough plenty of ice-related stuff going on too! Actually, more icy stuff this episode than anything else, strangely :/. Within the lighthouse, we grab Balm the mercury djinni and Fugue the mars djinni :). We also learn some new psynergy that will be amazing for reaching the final few optional dungeons of the game! Of course, what's a dungeon without a boss?

--------------------------------------------

Flame Dragons Strategy:

- Target one dragon at a time, unless you're using your best summons.
- Keep all healed up...probably with Jenna since her fire psynergy is going to be a bit of a waste of time during this battle.
- With that said, they're weak to water so use that a lot.
- That's about it really. There's not too much to this boss other than there being 2 of them to worry about :).

--------------------------------------------

Finally...or actually before all that...we check out Prox; the final town in the game! It's stunning with all the snow and the pale, white people. There's even a djinni here too, which is really easy to find: Mold, the venus djinni!

Thanks for watching! See you next time for the start of a 4 episode sidequest marathon! ;)

P.S. Just to let you know, since this is all recorded on my end, I can say that there will be 36 episodes total, including these sidequest episodes! We're almost done! :)

Episode 31 - The Sentinel's Islet

https://youtu.be/5-nhchssMRg

Hey peoples, it's time for us to leave the main story behind for 4 episodes and take on an optional dungeon per episode!

1st up is the Sea of Time Islet Cave via turtle travel! Yeah yeah, we've been here before. This time though, we have the teleport psynergy so we can go further in and reach the mercury djinni: Serac! That's not all either, there's also the Catastrophe summon tablet that's guarded by superboss 1 of 4...

----------------------------------

Sentinel Strategy:

- The gimmick of this guy is that psynergy won't hurt him!
- Stick to physical attacks, djinn and summons! Summons will be your major damage-dealing factor :).
- He's weak to earth, so have your Felix/Isaac go for broke with those djinn (or whoever you gave them to).
- Jenna should heal up each turn.
- Tip: He has 8-9,000 HP so you may need to restore a bit of Jenna's PP here and there :).

----------------------------------

And that's it! Thanks for watching peoples! See you around for more optional stuffs! ;)

Episode 32 - Valukar's Sandy Surprise!

https://youtu.be/GtNxOAoRtMM

Hey there folks, it's time for optional dungeon number 2 of 4! This time around we're heading back to the Yampi Desert in order to reveal a hell of a cave! This is a really sandy dungeon, as you'd expect, so get that Sand psynergy at the ready!

There are a few good rewards for trekking through here, such as Crystal, the venus djinni! There's also the summon tablet for Daedalus, but another optional superboss is blocking the way...

--------------------------------------------------

Valukar Strategy:

- This guy has a gimmick where he drains your djinn and uses your own summons against you, so once he drains them, make sure to summon as quickly as possible so he can't use them after all ;).
- Other than this, he's pretty simple. He's weak to wind and summons do a tonne of damage so he won't take long.
- Also, don't use djinn yourself. It'll give him more resources for better summons to use against you.
- Keep healed up throughout, naturally.

--------------------------------------------------

That's about it for this dungeon actually. Thanks for watching! See you next time for the start of the hard superbosses :s.

Episode 33 - The Star Magician!

https://youtu.be/IIEcT81ai4U

A Star Magician appears! *Flowers* *Magic wand* *Top hat*

Hey peoples, we have the 1st of 2 really tough optional superbosses now! Yargh, he had to appear in a flash over at Treasure Island didn't he? He made it so hard to reach the Azul summon tablet :/. Even if you don't fight him though, at least you can still get Gale, a jupiter djinni ;).

---------------------------------------------------

Star Magician Strategy:

- He comes with 4 balls! Focus all your effort on killing the recovery balls before anything else. They can heal him by 1,000 HP a turn :s.
- The anger balls (the red ones) should be taken out next since they can sometimes explode and hurt your party so damn badly.
- Otherwise, just keep hitting hard with your djinn and best summons, while protecting yourself with a good wall djinni per turn.
- Make sure to heal every turn. It's good to be a little bit defensive so long as the recovery balls don't spawn.
- The Star Magician himself is weak to fire. Try to hit him with that element if possible, but any element will do so long as you keep the damage going imo.
- Finally, he has 3 turns per round all to himself (not to mention the balls gettting a turn each for a potential 7 turns per round). There's not much you can do about this but try to heal a lot.

---------------------------------------------------

Thanks for watching! See you next time for the other super-hard superboss! :)

Episode 34 - With All Djinn Collected

https://youtu.be/RJMiBkS0AmI

Now then, what's our reward for collecting all the djinn over both games? It happens to be the last sidequest we're doing for the series: Anemos Inner Sanctum!

This optional dungeon is full of puzzles, which are sometimes tricky and sometimes quite unique! They put a bit more thought into this dungeon than most dungeons throughout the main games imo.

The rewards are actually 2 summon tablets though: Charon and Iris. Not that I ever use them, but at least we got to check the dungeon out, right? :)

The superboss here is the toughest boss in the game but there's a solid gimmicky way of winning.

----------------------------------------------------

Dullahan Strategy:

- Put all of your djinn on standby except for one per character. This includes all 8 characters.
- In the 1st round, summon your best summons with party 1. Once this is done, don't heal or revive. Just go for broke with your best psynergy; it's weak to wind if that helps boost the damage a little bit :).
- Do the same with party 2 when party 1 is dead.
- That should do it! If not, you may need to level grind a bit or experiment with the optional summons and see what works the best for your party setup :).

----------------------------------------------------

With that, we're all done with our mini optional dungeon marathon!

Thanks for watching! I'll see you again when we'll be back at Mars Lighthouse to continue with the final dungeon! :)

Episode 35 - Returning To Mars

https://youtu.be/jiR8oM977WA

Hey folks, we're back at Mars Lighthouse and ready to finish off the last of the game's puzzles!

I like how they handled this last bit. It's like having 4 mini-lighthouses in 1, sort of giving off that Wind Waker vibe since that game did the same thing in its final dungeon :). Other than that, we don't have much chance to do much else so...

Thanks for watching! See you next time for the grand finale! It's gonna be a bit of a larger episode to wrap things up but that's nothing new in this series really, is it? :)

Episode 36 ~Thanks For Watching!~

https://youtu.be/YOX0p14nxZ0

Hey there folks, we've made it to the end of the game! It's been a fair while coming, but the 2-game...game is complete :D.

This episode is an extra long vid showing off the end of Mars Lighthouse, including the Doom Dragon final boss, along with all the plot that comes with it!

-------------------------------------------

Doom Dragon Strategy:

- Phase 1: Boost your stats and just use minor attacks. This is the easy part and it's good to save your PP for later. You could prepare some summons though.
- Phase 2: Same as before but look out for Cruel Rain. It deals a tonne of damage to your whole party. It might be good to start using some summons now but not too many or your stats are going down the crapper.
- Phase 3: Cruel Rain could occur every turn now so keep that healing up! This is the final phase of the final battle of the game and there's no carry over to the 3rd game, so go all out with your best items! Use summons galore and take him down!
- He's weak to wind in all phases. Just sayin' ;).

-------------------------------------------

With that done, it's all about the end-game plot, what happened to Vale, what happened to certain party members' families etc. Isaac's mother was ill in bed last we saw her, right? :(. The credits and a very mashed up mini-review are here too lol. Also, I love the artwork on certain stills at the end. Really nicely done ha!

Thank you so much for watching this series! While it got a bit tough to keep up with it sometimes due to some stuff mentioned in the video, it was a pleasure to make and I hope some people got to experience a new adventure (or two!). I hope to see you next time with the new series I've started to prepare as we speak :). I'm so excited to get started lmao! :D

P.S.
Give me a shout about video lengths! I'm not sure what people prefer, even if I prefer shorter videos myself :).
