Let's Play Legend Of Dragoon!

Episode 24 - The Incredible, Magnetic Emille!

https://youtu.be/ACcrQc10j1E

Hey peoples, just a short summary due to there being a lack of bosses and stuff really. This time, we head on over to Twin Castle in Fletz in order to gain a pass to enter the Valley of Corrupted Gravity! It's more about checking out Princess Emille, but the King is obviously a bit of a fruit loop himself lmao. There's some more stardust to find but that's really simple.

Thanks for watching! We'll actually head on over to that new dungeon next time...I didn't think we'd be so long at the castle :s.

P.S. That Princess Emille and her fork trick lmao. Forks flying everywhere! Take coveeeeeer! ;)

Episode 25 - Gravity Rush

https://youtu.be/UfRO6giVyWU

Hey folks, this is probably one of the areas I remember the most since it has a great concept (you can probably guess what that is as soon as I say Valley Of Corrupted Gravity). I mean, look how much it looks like that crater from FF7! There may not be any cloaked people jumping over the edges, but it's definitely similar. Hell, the party even starts talking in an area that looks exactly like the part in FF7 where Sephiroth steals the black materia back from Red (or something like that) :/.

We have ourselves a boss too! Remember that Virage boss back in the volcano? Well now we're up against one that isn't half skeleton lmao. The same strategy applies to this guy, but he doesn't seem to attack much without his arms? Not sure what happened there ha.

Thanks for watching! We'll go for the home of the giants next time and maybe we'll meet some more giants? One just isn't enough ;).

Episode 26 - Kongol's Home

https://youtu.be/hNeeKiga5j8

Hey there folks, here's an extra long episode (though not really that much longer than some lately lmao) that shows off the Home Of Giganto! This place is the lair of the Gehrich gang and has tonnes of traps :D. It's not a huge place but the boss more than makes up for that ha!

Gehrich (the leader of the gang causing all the problems) is accompanied by Mappi (our good ol' pal who stole our red dragoon spirit earlier on) for a pretty gruesome twosome! Probably the toughest fight so far :s. I'm not sure what to suggest other than aim for elemental weaknesses and just pick one to go for first; it'll reduce that damage intake ;).

Oh! We also now have our final party member: Kongol! He may have caused us a tonne of trouble throughout the game, but he has now changed his mind seeing how powerful we are :). Our party is now full up and has no more vacancies! Party closed ha.

Thanks for watching! Keep your eyes open for the next episode; we have ourselves a bonus episode coming up next!

Episode 26b - A Present For Kongol

https://youtu.be/ghnfP-bf_cE

Hey there peoples, just a bonus episode for today. I thought we'd nab Kongol's dragoon spirit now before we have to wait another disc and a half (or around there) to get it. We also plod on over to Donau for a good old wedding! Anything for grub, eh? ;)

Thanks so much for watching! We'll check out Fletz next time...we may even sort out the whole Princess Emille situation :gasp2:.

Episode 27 - Coming Of Age

https://youtu.be/a1dy6w-g35M

Hey peoples, it's time for us to head back to Fletz (again) and finally wrap up the Princess Emille arc! It turns out...well, I'll leave all that for you to find out lmao.

Do we save the Princess? Do we keep our grip on the Moon Dagger? Do we have a new objective???

I'll answer that last one lmao. Yes we do! We're going to board the Queen Fury next time and it's seriously something to look forward to! I love how that ship looks and everything :s.

As for the boss in this episode, Lenus is simple enough. Use Dart's fire spells (level 3 if possible!) and slap her with a few fire items. If you don't have those, it's just the usual bout of physical attacks lmao.

Thanks for watching! See you aboard the Queen Fury! :)

Episode 28 - The Sea's Furious!

https://youtu.be/8MfASyIykJE

Hey there folks, this time we're boarding the Queen Fury from Donau! I love transport in JRPGs, when you get to explore i.e. a good ship ;). The vessel is a way to get to know your party members a bit more really, with a good old-fashioned knife-off mixed in! The reward is well worth it too. Well worth it.

This episode has a cinematic that I love too: the introduction of the phantom ship! We'll get around to that dungeon next time :).

Thanks for watching! See you next time! :)

Episode 29 - Treasures Aboard The Haunted Ship

https://youtu.be/Rg2ifn-gHY4

Hey peoples, it's time for the horror dungeon to show up! Phantom ships are in so many different games (especially RPGs, by the seems of it) and this is one of my favourite ones. I'm not a huge fan of the treasure chest minigame on here but we give it a shot! The final prize is pretty amazing too :D. Took forever getting that (don't worry, it's all chopped and stuff lol).

Thanks for watching! We'll finish off what is probably my favourite dungeon so far next time! :)

Episode 30 - Leader Of The Ghosts

https://youtu.be/riwOvRa4lY8

Hey all, welcome back to the Phantom Ship! This time around we take on the boss...and isn't he a git ha. If you just take a few of those light attack spell items in and use them all once you've hit the ghost commander with physical attacks for a few rounds, you should be all good. Apparently, I didn't have the sense to do this and the trouble ensues!

There's also a cinematic giving us some insight into the ever so mysterious Rose. Worth a peek if you're a fan of hers!

Other than that, a surprise twist to the game comes along and certain party members end up in the rundown coast town of Lidiera! :)

Thanks for watching! See you next time when we explore the tiny town of Lidiera! :)

Okay as places in the game are beginning to dwindle on where we go with what we can collect my tip section grows somewhat smaller as well. We now find ourselves on Disc 3 and Dart's homeland area so let's kick things off now. There are two stardust in town and one heck of a commotion going on, wonder what it is? Anyways from disc 2 we should have 35 stardust total, so once were off the Queen Fury lets check the house on the right and the pile of junk for stardust number 36, and for 37 requires a little work and some angle manipulation. Once we get the boat license(tell the guy you came of the ship for a slight more funny scene), and we are leaving from the mayors house we will notice the one bulky guy isn't blocking our way anymore into the one house, so like traditional RPG style let's just brea, I uhh mean mosy on in and sack the place. Climb the ladder and go up the first set of stairs, walk around the small wall that sticks out and try to get the X button prompt to show itself, when it does press x to get another gate to open up. Go up a second set of stairs down the slide and try to inspect the crystal ball for the second stardust of this town. Again may take some positioning issues. With that done we head into the forest to maybe hunt down what has the town in all of a frenzy or will we? This section is optional but we get 500g free from this I think after saving everyone, so this boss right is up to you. Just be warned if you head towards the exit of the forest you lose Rose and Meru, so if want to tackle the boss and you rely on one of them might want to do it before, or if you fancy a challenge and can't resist putting those two in your party go towards the exit let them leave then head back and take him down. Ahh Neet Dart's home village now that we can come back here and were not here as Rose we can grab the solo stardust here, just inspect the lamp upon entering that's it.

Well like with Rose the same applies to Meru, when we see her home area we can't gather the two stardust here either with her. Though when we visit we can resort to our usual pillaging methods. When we get to the first house and see the three teleporters, we want to use the upper right one, now in this next area we want to use the large teleporter, we know this guy whose house we're in. Inspect the upper right corner for the first stardust of this area then go back to the three teleporter house and use the lower right this time. Check the pillar to the right of that north arch doorway for the second one.(wow 40 stardust already we are getting close.)

Next we have two interesting dungeon segments up and three tough bosses, though one is optional. Well in the first dungeon we see a purple teleporter like device, well it's not, it's a healing point so use it to level up additions. And from this point we have two paths to choose from the top path takes us to that optional fight whole the lower one we have to break an annoying seal. Both paths lead to the same spot and both have items to grab either laying around or from the fight, so let's do both okay? Anyways going to the upper one we notice a strange teleporter room and these weird ass pictures. Well those pictures are ancient carvings of some of the races aka species of the 108 fruits. Winglies were all about magic so we might need to go in order from most magic to least, I forget? But the order going from left to right is 6, 1, 3, 4, 5, 2. Now we face off a super-virage. Now he has high hp about 6,500, there are two ways we can take him out, kill him all-out or let him self destruct after 10 turns. If we kill him he can counter with a blast-off death hitting us for 500 damage, letting him commit sucide I don't think triggers that. You can ignore the other body parts and focus on the body for a faster kill if you want, we get a healing rain and some good xp from this fight sadly this fight is easier then the next. Anyway if we do the lower path we run into a room with 5 glowing panels and enemies flying all over. Disable each panel one by one and each panel taken out reduces the enemies popping around by 1.(Note if we kill an enemy they just come back, next room is a room inspired by that place of corrupted gravity. Anyways after getting out of there this is where are two paths would converge, so let's take on the real boss. Grand Jewel is here and he will make dragoon forms useless because of that staff, so if you want to use your dragoons only chance a lvl 1 or 2 level transformation, 1 would be the best so you detransform after your action. When he activates the staff our dragoon powers plummet yet Rose Storm can still save us a huge hassle. Stay healed with item and work your best do take down his 4,500 hp.

Well after seeing that scene I think we know where we are going next. Head back to the city and 5 stardust have magically appeared here. Where the item and weapon shop used to be is now a small area of cloth with weapons and items instead, check them twice for two stardust. Now enter the inn and go upstairs and check the wheel next to the treatment light for number 3. Now back in the castle run up to Shana's room entrance and check it for number four. Now for the last one of this area check the blocked entrance off what used to be the entrance to the seal room.(dang these things must have been inside roofs and walls if we could only get them after the city was destroyed.)

The next hassle boss is the reason we came here to get this staff and like the Grand Jewel the Divine Dragon will be no pushover. The same concept applies, kiss your dragoons goodbye as they will be destroyed. Keep healed with items and again use transformations sparingly a level or two only if you need it, again Rose Storm can be a life saver. He also has three targets each target doesn't get to attack thankfully, but he can use the other two as devastating attacks on one person or your party, so take out his Divine Cannon and Ball before the big guy himself. Well now we have another annoying boss to face Lyod, like the previous two boss fights the dragoons are in a no fly zone here. This time because Lyod has the Dragon Buster remember? Any character targeted by him while in dragoon form dies, so try and use level one builds only. Still compared to how the other two were he is slightly easier then those two but can still be difficult in his own right as he is a magic powerhouse. Note the area outside this room where we have our fight is where we will come back to for Faust, so remember how to get up here. Also the snowfield before here has a healing point and the area just below the snowfield which we can fall into we can come back for in Disc 4 to get Dart's ultimate weapon. And the second therapy ring or the first one if you gave it to him is perfect for negating his ultimate weapons 10% drain on his max health everyturn.

Now as we are nearing the end of disc 3 and get inside Velweb here when we meet Shirley(So this is where she went to) she mentions an important task for us that is optional. Well we can't take care of it right now but we can still check that area out go on and go to the right. Enter the other tower in this area above us and check the alter inbetween the two towers for the last stardust of the disc, that makes 11 found and brings our total to 46. Enjoy the cutscenes coming, who could have honestly seen some of that coming, well we have our work cut out for us then in the start of Disc 4. See you next time.

Episode 31 - A Special Shana Scene

https://youtu.be/UcP6dL1Nc3k

Hey peoples, we have two towns to explore today along with a mini-dungeon! All in about 20 minutes .

Lidiera is a really nice little coastal town, but there's not a whole lot there and it's a little bit rundown so I don't like it as much as I might have a few years ago. I think the town was attacked by the monster in the Undersea Cavern? I'm not completely sure on that lol.

That leads us onto the Undersea Cavern itself, but that's short as hell. We'll be back here later I'm sure ;). I don't really have an opinion on the place yet.

Finally, we head on over to Fueno! This place is pretty small too (I guess because this is an island so they down-scaled things). While the town is nothing to write home about, it does give us a special scene with Shana that really made me realise that Dart isn't just going to avoid the issue all the way through the game lmao. Of course...some other party members are hanging around too during it all. How awkward :/.

Thanks for watching! See you next time for a bit of Prison Island hunting! ;)

P.S. That title is definitely a tongue-twister. You're welcome! :p

Episode 32 - Undah Da Sea

https://youtu.be/n1-RA5FPHIs

Why, hello there! Remember that way in the Undersea Cavern that was blocked off by water? Well, today we're gonna sort that all out by returning to Lidiera for a few minutes and speaking to the most useless mayor known to mankind (I expect Boris Johnson to be playing cards and setting up random dams instead of running the country at all if he happened to get into power).

Otherwise, we make a solid start on a pretty simple dungeon and make it allllll the way to the save point. There are loads of items here that I'm not too fond of but I found out those recovery balls can be even the best of healing items if you're l-l-lucky! Still, too random for a boss situation imo.

Thanks for watching! We'll be wrapping up disc 2 next time! :monocle:

P.S.
Just a heads up that tomorrow's episode will be a long one. Like, extra long to get the disc finished off. You may want to take a day off work/school to watch it. Hell, you could take a week off and watch it in sections. It might even be wise to grab the toffee Butterkist popcorn (definitely the best kind I've ever had anyway). Of course, then you'd have to keep some toothpicks on you so maybe not. I dunno, I would anyway.

Episode 33 - Lenus' Deep Gash

https://youtu.be/1TKcnUN91mQ

Hey peoples! We're finishing off disc 2 this time around! That seemed to go so much quicker than the first disc :s.

Anyways, there's a whole lot going on here, from the boss of the Undersea Cavern (while hunting down an evil monster, out pops a Lloyd and Lenus!) to a whole load of story back at Fletz Castle :D. That dance scene is so much like that from FF8. This one has awkward dialogue from characters who look pre-rendered? Not sure about all that lol. There's a whole lot more to this episode than that bit but I'll leave you to have a gander :).

Anyways, there we have it! Thanks for watching! We'll make a start on disc 3 next time :).

P.S. Don't hurt me for that title! The game said it, not me :s (well, maybe me as well).

Episode 34 - Disc 3's Furni

https://youtu.be/DloK7PqT_kg

Shhh! Quiet! Disc 3 is starting! :gasp:

'ello me old cocker spaniels! What we have here is the start of disc 3 and what a town to start it in! Furni is really a great bit of watery eye candy. That weapon shop being outside in the water is something I find particularly unique ha!

Of course, there's always some sort of trouble going on! It seems that Teo (a boy from the town) has run away to the forest to find his pet wolf (who just so happens to be hated by the townsfolk, funnily enough). You see...the pet wolf has gone savage :(. We'll have to do what we can by beating the hunters to the boy and his wolf next time ;). Thanks for watching!

P.S. A few distractions going on in the greeny household during this bit of exploration but I don't think it's too noticeable with the few cuts :).

Episode 35 - The Boy Who Cried Wolf

https://youtu.be/S6oZ5xI8uFY

Hey there folks, this time around shows a boy called Teo and his pet wolf called Kamuy. There seems to be something a bit off with that wolf of his though...

We take care of the Evergreen Forest, even if it seems like we'll be back here later. It's a really nice area; it could have done with a wee bit more snow though imo. There's an optional boss here, by the way! I won't spoil anything in that department ha ;).

Thanks for watching! See you next time for a snowy town (yay!)! Bye for now! :)

Episode 36 - Snowy Town!

https://youtu.be/2KOYuO_nw18

Hey peoples, another big episode! This time around we check out a tonne of cinematics and plot revelation within the snowy town of Deningrad :D. I love the cinematics in these old PS1 JRPGs, so I'm really happy about this lmao.

We also get to check out why Rose and Meru left the party for a bit. Turns out they're both visiting some old history :s. We learn some veeeeery interesting things about Meru. Indeedy :gasp2:.

Thanks for watching! With all that plot taken care off, maybe next time we can leave Deningrad? Maybe ;).

Episode 37 - Crystals? Neet.

https://youtu.be/c8cgvTIOqcU

Hey peoples! It turns out we weren't quite done with Deningrad yet, but it's not for long. Another cinematic there lmao. Sad times when Shana has another incident that makes her look all weak. She even lost her dragoon spirit :(. Still, because of this we have a new party member: Miranda!

A bit of optional stuff after that; we head on over to Dart's hometown of Neet. There's only a stardust to pick up here but you can check out the gravestone too for some feels :'(. Finally, we head on over to Meru's hometown of Wingly Forest!

Thanks for watching folks! We'll check out that town next time and it's actually really interesting considering they're like an out-dated society :).

Episode 38 - The Wingly Staff

https://youtu.be/74IWezNuBsE

Hey folks! This time around, we're gonna have a quick look around the Wingly Forest, meeting some brothers who just don't like humans (they have a pretty good reason though) and meeting the ancestor too. He's a lovely chap and opens up the way to the Forbidden Land! All so that we can make our way towards the dragon block staff :s. More on that next time ha.

Thanks for watching! See you next time when we pick a path and wrap up the Forbidden Lands! :D

P.S. Wow, that's a short summary lmao. My noggin' ain't feeling all too creative today, by the looks of it :/.

Episode 39 - Right In The Jewels!

https://youtu.be/IJFt7KS20eQ

Hey all, welcome back to the Forbidden Land! This time around we finish it all off! The optional boss is simple: you can either go about it how I do in the vid for something really easy or you can fight him the more traditional way for a bit of a time attack challenge. He's called Super Virage, by the way :D.

We also take care of the actual boss of the dungeon: Grand Jewel. This boss is why this vid turned out so bloody long lmao. You can't effectively use dragoons during this fight due to him lowering your attack and defence a hell of a lot. He also recovers a tonne of his health if you don't kill him off quick once he hits the red health bar :s.

Other than that, it looks like the divine dragon has struck Deningrad! We have the dragon block staff along with the motivation to kick 'im in the nuts now, so he's going down! Well...after we check in on Shana and the Queen and have a nice cuppa tea ;).

Thanks for watching! :)

Episode 40 - Deningrad Is All Ruined

https://youtu.be/SrM-ypIbrss

Hey all, this time we just have of a sad time checking out the ruins of Deningrad and the Crystal Palace :(. There are 5 stardust to collect so that's a positive to take out of it all, right?

Also, we head back through the Evergreen Forest to find the final exit that will lead us towards the lair of the Divine Dragon!

Thanks for watching! See you next time for a wee bit of mountain climbing! ;)

So since we did all of disc 3 in one go now we can start of disc 4 and this is where a bulk of our fun lies and the gathering of all that stardust come to fruition. So to start off with we are in a desert, gotta hate these endless deserts go one way for so long to get our or get in a pitfall and restart these things are never any good. The only good item in here is a power down(reduces an enemies attack for 3 turns, repeatable) but that's not till the second half of this place. Good thing is no pure random encounters they are all touch contact like in Hellana and the Black Castle, we do have a healing point midway so have fun to your hearts content to get additions up. They are gonna start getting really important so if don't have some Ultimates by now may want to work on that. I'll let you play with the pitfalls if you want some of the hp and mp healing items but not you will be going back to the beginning a lot if you do this, each cave has it's own starting point.

So we're gonna mossy on to the right to the next screen that should take us to the top right of this place we know this by not being able to go right anymore. So head down and down again for another three screens so a total of four. Now we go left and should be in a center like screen, from here we go up, make another right here and now we head down until we can't go down any further and we should spot an exit in the lower right corner. Hey we found the exi...crap it's the next section of this place. So we head right and we get a scene wonder what it's about? so we exit to the top and then we hang a left, from this left wall area we are gonna head up again and up once more for that power down item, nice. Fall down to the right to get an mp recovery item and to start some of this over again, hey we gonna nab a weapon for Rose as well she could use an upgrade if you didn't kick her to the curb. So we exit back to the top and now make a right and make another right, at this right wall were gonna go down two screens drop down this pit but don't bother with the chest it's a recovery ball and they are random, we hate random. Now back at this place we exit to the top once more and go right again, up two times, then we hand a left, and from here we go up. We arrived at a second rest point. Good thing we found water or we could be dead right? Exit to the top here and head right and drop in the hole for some bandit shoes, a speed increase for all the guys in shoe form. Sadly we went back so once again now back at this place again we exit to the top once more and go right again, up two times, then we hand a left, and from here we go up. Now we go left, then up two more spots and make a left again, then from here we just keep on going up and up till we finally get out of this horrid place.(Least there was no boss battle right?)

So in this town there is 3 startdust to find which will bring our total up to 49. When we see two paths lets take the left one, after this scene check behind the flowers or in front of them to nab our first one, now lets take the left out of this screen. Use the teleporter and once inside the weapon weapon shop check the vase in the north of the shop, now we head back to the two paths and take the right one when we get to a house and go upstairs check the black flower near the four red ones for the last star dust of this area. Now we get more cs's travel back through some very familiar places, wow if we would of found that earlier travel would have been so much easier right? Head to the basement of the castle through some doors we couldn't get in before and tell them you want to go to Rouge, hey this is Haschel's place isn't it, also it's home to the last stardust of the game that's right number 50 the big one. As we explore the town we see Martel(so that's what she has been collecting them for.) Anyways don't talk to her yet instead go north and sneak off to the left to do some peeping, wait there has to be something else here right? Raid the chest as per norm then check that jar for the last stardust of the game. Put down the controller and throw your hand sup and celebrate, anyways go back to martel and turn them all in if you haven't been and receive all your goods. Can't make use of the last one yet we have another dungeon or two to go through before we get to that. In fact after these next two dungeons will be the bulk of side quest time. But anyways mosy on through this place open your way to the dungeon and get ready to get an epic non elemental repeatable item. Answer the test the following way "Take Doel's Sword" "For the world" "I can not die now" "I ...can not do that" "I still can not die!" "I couldn't stop her" take a break watch a scene this is an auto win(always that way with her) for the last one "I will save Shana no matter what!" If done right you will get the pysch bomb X, a great repeatable non elemental attack item, more scenes and we get a boss fight with THE KRAKEN! water element boss so Dart is at a slight disadvantage, he has 10k hp so gonna take a bit to get through. But go ahead and test the pysch bomb x if you got it, use dragons like Dart's Final Burst magic(wait we can use drgoons again and it's not a 1 turn limit?) and heal up when needed, overall a lot easier then the past three bosses we dealt with. Well that's one signet down and an ancient city all gone in one blow, so we have to go stop it from happening again.

Next bit will cover the magical law city, us getting our wings a lot of running around getting some number codes to make stuff easier here, and once we have our wings the side quest. Dart's ultimate weapon the fight will be cake, doing the Fraust fight, and saving four dragoon lost souls.
