Let's Replay Alundra!

Episode 18 - Undercover Dreaming

https://youtu.be/yJlgX1OsEOI

Hey there folks! It's finally time to check out what all that mystery is hiding when it comes to Meia! Her dream isn't dangerous at all but it does have a tricky puzzle or two hiding away :D. By the way, the music is stunning here! It's so calm and fits the dream amazingly well :).

Thanks so much for watching! We'll be going for something next time before heading in the new direction that has opened up for us! :)

P.S. Unique dungeons like these are some of my favourites, but we're going back to normality (kind of???) in a short while :).

Episode 19 - Burning Down The House!

https://youtu.be/fTt4PMtlyCI

Hey there folks, let's wander off the beaten path for a wee bit, shall we? ;)

This time around, with Nava's spring bean in hand, we're heading off towards the fire manor! This is a tiny dungeon that is mandatory but not so early. We're only doing it now 'cause we just got the bean that allows us to. Besides, it's really quick and simple when you know where you're going!

Oh oh oh! We also nab the water book, which you need the newly acquired fire wand for! We haven't really been using healing magic much yet but this will come in ever so handy later on ;). As will the extra life vessels and gilded falcons that the fire wand give you access to on the world map.

Thanks so much for watching! We'll be carrying on next time with another not-yet-so-mandatory mini-dungeon! Oh lord, what a nightmare that'll be... :s

Episode 20 - Cold As Ice

https://youtu.be/0FI1sftB5SY

Hey there folks, are you ready to take on some of the toughest puzzles in Alundra? The Ice Manor is a right shitebag and you really want to get your ice pillar pushing brain on! If you didn't like the puzzles in Kline's nightmare, then ohhh boy... ;)

It's all worth it for the ice wand though. We won't be using it for a wee while but we had to do all this eventually so it's nice to actually have it done. A relief actually since it's such a bloody thorn in my side :/.

Other than, we nab an extra life vessel or two along with a bit more exploration etc etc.

Thanks so much for watching! We'll be heading on over to the stone giant next time like they asked us to do a while back lmao. Back on track for sure! ;)

Episode 21 - The Waterwheel Turns

https://youtu.be/3hNpPbKxrfo

Hey there folks! Let's finally get on with the main game, shall we? :lew:. I mean, we grab nava's charm first from the gravekeeper's house (weird puzzle :/), but then we get on with the main game lmao!

Before we can make it to the stone giant, we need to head through the waterway which has some of the harder platforming in the game. It's all very simple and linear though in terms of navigating so good times ;).

We also take on King Miming's first trap at the stone giant itself and destroy the stone heads that he scatters around. I remember when I was first playing this game and never would have thought to leave the dungeon and have to return from another entrance. Weird!

Thanks so much for watching! We'll make a proper start on the stone giant next time! Very unique and fun! :D

Episode 22 - Jack And The Giant

https://youtu.be/dxVxspT5mrk

There once was a lad named Jack...um...Alundra. He went to visit a stone giant one day and ended up meeting the last of the gazeck tribe. King Miming was awful mean, but only to protect his friend of many years. Or days. Or something.

Hey there folks lmao! It's time for us to wrap up the stone giant dungeon! It's not so bad but there's the odd room that can really get you a bit stuck. Either way, plenty of variety and imp things to hate! It's all worth it for another crest and the aqua cape. We also get to meet a new villain...

Thanks so much for watching! We'll be making use of that aqua cape next time for what I think is an optional dungeon!

P.S. Don't forget that earth book! It's not completely amazing but it's worth nabbing for completion sake. I always feel a bit buggered if I don't grab it :s.

P.P.S. I loooove that boss design! It may be a simple boss but the whole look and uniqueness of it all is amazing ;).

Episode 23 - Finding Navi!

https://youtu.be/gUxWyo30b44

Hey there folks, let's check out what the twins are on about, shall we?

The fairy pond is the real water dungeon of Alundra; you even go underwater and everything! I love the music (though I didn't as a midget) and even the weird physics are pretty likable (though a whole game with them would be such a pain lmao).

Thanks for watching! We'll be making plenty of use out of our handy new item! Next time though...not so much :/.

Episode 24 - Daddy Issues

https://youtu.be/32pibEJQ0-w

Hey there folks, we have a plot episode today! Things with Ronan over at the sanctuary are just getting worse and more importantly, there has been another murder! Another one of my favourites have popped their clogs lmao! ;)

Thanks for watching! I don't want to go too much into video summary for a plot episode due to spoilers so I'll leave you to it. See you next time for probably the hardest nightmare of the game! :griin:

Episode 25 - The Queen's Castles

https://youtu.be/LBo1meye_YY

Yes! It's time for my favourite nightmare to rear its ugly head(s?)! Elene is the girl who lost her mother to...well, death...and her father to drink! Apparently, Gustav (her father) will quit the booze if we can save his daughter! Thing is, Elene has four personalities and that means four curses/nightmares 0_0! Can we really save her from all that? Even with the co-op help of Meia? That's another thing that's so great about this dungeon! We get two dreamwalkers wandering around and who can dislike that :D.

There are even three bosses throughout the web that is her personae! This time around we only take on the fire section which gives us our first Hidden Eye boss! Simple enough but look out for the lava pits :s.

Oh! I should probably mention something else! Before we jump headfirst into the head of a queen, we fix that broken armour that Jess left us in his blue chest! This gives us the Ancient Armour and is well worth nabbing ;). We'll get something better soon but it's good to have the best equipment sometimes lol.

Thanks so much for watching! We'll beat the other nightmares out of Elene (hopefully!) next time! See you there :).

Episode 26 - Elene Is Alone

https://youtu.be/4AA8DqSiBng

Hey there folks, this time around we're finishing off Elene's nightmares! All the interlocking areas become all the more complex and the two bosses have some different things about them to make them different from the first hidden eye.

I am so happy with the result considering the effort that was put into saving Elene. I sure hope Gustav really does quit that drink and actually looks after his daughter now! She's not a Queen anymore so she needs her father more than ever :'(.

Thanks for watching folks! With one of my favourite dungeons finished, we'll be moving onto trying to save Giles for a second time next time (the only time they repeat a curse for a character in the game). See you there! :)

Episode 27 - Giles Is Cursed Again...

https://youtu.be/PZJaQWdnfGc

Hey folks, here's a plot episode that shows off Giles' second curse! Can we save him a second time? Don't worry, there's no dungeon this time, just a load of dialogue and a bit of a worrying time for his sister: Kisha :(.

Oh! We do nab the tree gem afterwards off Meia so we do actually get a bit of gameplay in lmao.

Thanks so much for watching! See you next time for the start of a 2 dungeon run in the murgg woods! :britt:

Episode 28 - Monkey Mayhem!

https://youtu.be/1xlxYI5ieP8

With a tree gem in hand, it's time to take on the murgg! These little scamps hide out at the end of the murgg woods in a giant tree. So, we need to make our way through a hell of a maze in the woods ;). I always get so stuck here and I wanted this experience to be shared with you guys so I left it unedited for a change. Please understand and share in my pain and torture :/.

We nab a new weapon along the way too in the form of a new bow and arrow, which is more powerful and you can charge it, but it's still not half as powerful as our fiend blade.

I should probably mention that there are two reasons we're doing this section. One is to protect the village; we saw what they did to Giles :'(. The other reason is to grab the two crests they nabbed from us from within the dungeons earlier on!

Thanks for watching! I'll see you next time for the second dungeon in this two-dungeon run: the great tree! :)

P.S. The wind book isn't found in this dungeon. It's a wee bit later on in the game (I'll show you exactly where ;) ).

Episode 29 - That Damn Dirty Ape!

https://youtu.be/LTfOHL8PGeo

Hey there folks, it's time for us to take down Zazan once and for all! The great tree is so full of ways to go and misleading pathways it ain't funny lmao! Not to mention the tonnes of treasures chests that could hold keys (but pretty much never do). It's one of my most dreaded dungeons in the game and I hope to be able to show off why ;).

I do love the keysmith though! He has so much personality for someone who you only meet here and nowhere else :s. I loved his character lol!

Then there's Zazan himself! So long as you charge up your sword/flail you should be fine. Just remember you can't hurt him while he's spinning around ;). That's the end of a pretty big pain in the rear!

Thanks so much for watching! With the murgg taken down (though there are still plenty around the place regardless of what I say in the vid lmao), we can now focus on our next threat. See you next time hopefully? :)

Episode 30 - Torla Talks

https://youtu.be/v9KJw5JvbUI

...but what does she have to say?

Hey again peoples! Another day, another dungeon, as they say. This time around, it seems that Mt Torla (the local volcano) is having a few issues so maybe we should head on over and see what's going on. If there just so happens to be another crest there then we'll just consider ourselves lucky lmao ;).

I love the music in this place! The chanting and almost Arabian (right word?) feel to the song really makes for an interesting dungeon! That and the ability to use your ice wand really effectively throughout. Can't forget about that ha.

There's mainly just the one puzzle that can stump us here and that's the torch puzzle. Not so easy at first glance! :gonk:

Thanks for watching! We'll take on the last bit of Mt Torla next time and see what the boss could possibly be (it's certainly one of the best in the game!).

Episode 31 - Wilda's Awakening

https://youtu.be/06pnlD2KpG4

Hey there folks, Torla Mountain (or Mt Torla) is going down! This time around, we wrap up this volcano and take on Wilda, the dragon king! We also nab ourselves the fire book. Anyways, Wilda isn't all that tough, so long as you have Nava's Charm; even without that, the attack patterns aren't very varied so it's all good. Just whop out your ice wand, give it a good charge and you're sorted ;).

Thanks for watching! It seems that the twins are in trouble so we'll be taking on their nightmare next time, which turns out to be the final nightmare of the game! :gasp2:

P.S.
Jesus, I feel thick when going through editing sometimes. Is Wilda male or female? Y'know, King Wilda? Anyone know? *slams face on desk*

P.P.S. I'm not sat at a desk.

Episode 32 - The Terror Twins

https://youtu.be/T7Op_QXND5s

Hey there folks, we're heading into our final nightmare dungeon! Nestus and Bergus (the village twins) have been cursed and y'know what that means! This is a really unique dungeon where you have to play through both nightmares at once, using the switches to move between the brown and blue worlds (each colour referring to a twin). I've always loved this place, though the memory puzzles can be a bit of an issue for me :/. Who can dislike that music too? For the final dream, they decided against the usual creepy nightmare theme and went all wild west; that always goes down well with me! I mean, it's only slightly spaghetti western but the influences are definitely there :griin:.

Then there's the boss: the terror twins! Just focus on one of them and you'll be fine. I think they share health but I'm not certain, so just to be share aim at one of them throughout. It's a really simple fight anyways. The bosses are never gonna be this easy again 0_0.

Thanks so much for watching! We'll be heading back into Inoa next time and the game is about to change for good! :s

Episode 33 - Ronan the Chosen One

https://youtu.be/xXzKVXQGZRY

Hey there folks, what we have here is a pretty meaty plot episode! I won't spoil what goes on within but it's a game changer! ;)

It's finally time to take care of Ronan! I remember always wanting to believe that Ronan would be good in the end, but this proves it. Go into the boss fully stocked up and with the olga's ring. You'll want to charge up too. You're gonna be cutting it close whatever you do, probably, so try to be careful :s.

Thanks for watching! We'll make use of our new holy sword next time and head on over to Nava's house for the final crest! :D

Episode 34 - Nava's A-Maze-ing Crest

https://youtu.be/FTrjuhasCtM

Hey there folks, it's time for a mini-dungeon for the last crest! I mean, it's not so short if you're unlucky enough to get lost in the maze, but we don't do too badly. Nava really knows how to make us work for it lmao.

We also take on Zorgia, Melzas' right hand demon. He takes a bloody long time which makes me wonder if I'm going about it a slow way, but meh. We get there.

Finally, we nab the crest and the last magic book: the wind book! We'll probably never use it but...it's there ha.

Thanks for watching! We'll be making use of these crests next time (finally!) which is all about the world map exploration. In a bit folks! :)

P.S. I've always wondered if Nava goes through this maze every time he wants to go home? T'would be awful inconvenient, so it would.

P.P.S. I'm all done recording now so 40 episodes total! This LP really has just flown by :s.

Episode 35 - Crestfallen Pedestals

https://youtu.be/cU8Z1S_FzPM

At least, they were crestfallen until now! It must have been so long since those pedestals got to be reunited with their crests :'(.

Hey peoples :lew:! This is one of my favourite parts of the game. You are forced to explore the world map in order to use all 7 of the crests that you find throughout the game. So, let's explore the world map to use our hard-earned crests, shall we? ;) We even find a surprise along the way lmao!

Thanks so much for watching! Short summary this time, but the exploration and stuff is all in the watching, I think. We'll be heading into the lake shrine next time! :)

Episode 36 - Painting The Roses Red

https://youtu.be/h1mMgoRa0-o

Bonus points for working out the reference in that title! It's pretty far-fetched this time, but it makes sense. Just about. Maybe.

Anyway! Welcome to the final dungeon! This is just the outskirts today really, with the Lake Shrine front gate and the hedge maze within! Both of these areas are pretty simple and fun to play around in, but the main chunk of the dungeon is yet to come. Yet to come, it is 0_0.

Thanks for watching! See you next time for the main chunk of the Lake Shrine! That's yet to come! :p

P.S. Barrels are the spawn of Satan. They should all be burnt.

P.P.S. This is another vid that ended up having techy problems with Sony Vegas, resulting in a lack of borders. I will say one thing though: it reduces the file size by miles lmao. It's sorted for next time :).

Episode 37 - Saving Time

https://youtu.be/IgaMh9RVlJo

Hey there folks, we're finally starting the main part of the lake shrine! There's so much going on, with tonnes of different ways to go and millions of puzzles throughout!

Before doing anything else though, we need to start time back up, since Melzas seems to use the power of plants to freeze time :s.

We also start unlocking the main door by finding some of the door-opening switches! Watch those torches to know how many switches you have left to find ;).

Thanks for watching! I think we're doing pretty well, but you never know with this dungeon. It can really trip you up :s.
