Remember FF8 when you fought monsters at a level the average of your battle party would'nt it be nice if they did that in FF13....no more pointless battles against week opponents how annoying and frustration Sqaure has to make everything worth your time and effort I mean slaughtering weakilings is the realm of eveil tyrants is it not?

VIII used the junction system to counter that though. yes the enemies leveled up with you, but with a few well-placed summons and magic stocks they were cannon fodder anyway. Provided XIII doesn't use junctions I don't see a problem other than making the game more tedious than necessary if/when we want to travel back to places.

i think it would be cool if the monsters levelled up with you, provided they arent ''monstously'' strong the first time you encounter them......but it made ffVIII alot more enjoyable for me....

If they gave u the option to this type of gameplay id be all for it but i kind of like one shooting weak monsters, makes me feel like ive progressed and gotten stronger.

Hmm, personally I don't care ether way. What I really want is a new game + or hard mode. Something to make the game harder, like Crisis Core had

I don't really want the monsters to level up at the same rate as your character if I'm honest. I know travelling to past sections and running into monsters levels way below yours is boring but I think that's what makes it fun as well. The whole having to progress further into the game to battl stronger monsters and be able to level in those particular areas is more appeaking to me, personally.

That's one thing I DON'T want. New Game+ anyway. I'm so sick of those. I liked the days where I only had to play through a game once. Now with games like Star Ocean and Tales of, you have to play a game two or three times if you want to see everything. So in that regard, don't change my beloved Final Fantasy into a Namco RPG. I'm content with beating an umteen-hour game just once, thank you.

As for monsters leveling up with you...I don't really care honestly. If you level up without a care in the world or preparation, then the monsters start manhandling you...that wouldn't be very nice. But I got irritated with FFX for the monsters being too weak as well. Especially if I'm going for the extras. Hunting for the Sigils, Final Weapons, and Jecht Spheres was awful just because of the random encounters, not so much the actual challenges to get them. Going back and killing a flan with Lulu with a PHYSICAL ATTACK got to be a bit much. Although there is something strangely appealing with that cute little doll doing several thousand damage.

Anyway, my point is, both sides have their faults. I just want a good story and characters, unlike FFXII. If I have that, I'm a happy camper. I've become disgusted with SE recently that I'm actually lowering my standards just so I can be pleased. Destroy the battle system, just try not to bore me to sleep this time with the long winded, convoluted story and boring characters. Thankfully, that doesn't seem like the case so far. Unless your going back for extras, fighting weak monsters doesn't affect much. But since this game seems so high tech, perhaps towards the end the team will have the usual airship to fly around in and avoid most of the weaklings.

I don't think this really worked all that well with FFVIII tbh, I suppose they could twaek it abit, but you could get through the game without levelling at all if you wanted to, because if you didn't level, neither did the monsters, so it's abit shit really, I'm not even sure how it could be changed really to make it work, Im sure it could, I just had a thought and completely lost it, so I guess it wasn't much of a thought :hmmm:

I'd rather just keep it to having stronger monsters in each area rather than them levelling with you, unless, they stayed as striong as they were but if you were over levelled then they'd level up with you

Oh, I think that was my thought hahaha

Yeah, I think I'd quite like that...just not the same as with FFVIII

I really want a easy, normal, hard, god mode kinda thing to start up in final fantasy games cause sometimes things are just way to easy and for people like me that enjoy games that actually require u to use ur brain would really love something like this.
