When I first heard about Lightning before the game came out I thought how would they make a female Cloud. However when playing the game she really reminded me of the dbz character Android 18 they have a similar personality. So who do you think Lightning reminds you of?

To be honest, even though SE denied it, I think she is a female cloud and SE probably did aim for that......If you remember Cloud was sort of cold at the beginning of FFVII, and after
he started to open up more. Same case for Lightning, but I blame the grudge with Snow for her unfazed attitude towards other at the beginning.....As her relationship with Snow evolved, she became close to the rest of the party just like Cloud did.
I hope SE do base more characters on her, cant wait for FFXIII-2 to come out, I wonder what she'll be like in it.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying Cloud and Lightning definately have similarities however there are differences. Yeah at the beginning Cloud told that guy Biggs that he didn't care what his name was but ***SPOILER*** it wasn't too much later he mourned over him dying. ****END SPOILER***. Then you have to remember Cloud was always talked into stuff. They talked him into getting in a dress and different stuff. Lightning didn't seem like the type that was talked into stuff. She wouldn't even stop so the others could catch their breath. Another thing was the Cid scene where Cid comes in yelling a screaming at Shera and Cloud but Cloud just takes it and apologizes to Shera for being a bother. I don't see Lightning taking that from Cid and if she did I don't see her apologizing to some poor lady its not really her style. The reason why Lightning reminds me more of Android 18 is because She is quiet but will laugh at her weak enemies. She also has that type of arrogance where she thinks she is better then everyone. She seems just as ruthless and other similarities. I also see lightning dating someone who is more submissive like Krillen but thats just a theory. I do agree though there are lots of characters that remind you of Lightning from other FF's for example Paine form FFX-2 was similar in some ways.
I wouldn't go into saying she was that cold,I do agree with you though. I think all Lightning needs to do is understand people more better.......Like you said she wouldnt even stop for Hope to catch his breath, but later on as the story progressed, she was more like a mother figure to him - which is something you really wouldn't expect out of someone with an emotionless attitude. True she is similar to Cloud but not the same, but I would still call her the female Cloud........Paine is another good one a lot like her,but it's a shame she was part of girly trio.

Hmmm yeah I see the thoery of Android 18,but they just remodled cloud with pink hair and boobs,hell they even admitted it,just not in my wording ofcourse.

That's an interesting point. Paine might have been a lot better off in a group where she wasn't the "straight" character in the trio. She'd have fit in nicely in the Lightning mould I suppose.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the Cloud comparisons, mainly because of how I imagine Cloud in my head. The fact that I have to imagine his voice in my head (including the way he says things, as well as tone) means that "my" Cloud might be a little different to other people's. Also, you make certain choices in dialogue which may help define Cloud one way or another. Cloud has a sense of humour too, which Lightning certainly doesn't have.
Anyways, if Lightning reminds me of anyone, it's a cross between Squall and Ashe. She's not as emotionally retarded as Squall, and she's not as pompous as Ashe, but she has qualities from both. She's independant and a little cold, but loyal, extremely reliable and trustworthy.
