I came across these tracks which were released in the Lightning Returns pre-soundtrack album in July. The album contains 6 tracks. These three following tracks are the ones most of us probably haven't heard.

I personally think that they are quite decent. The second one is surprisingly soothing for a vocal track. Liking it already. It kind of reminds me of the movie Coraline. The third one sounds like a track from the Dead Dunes. Sounds upbeat :D

Personally, I think that the only thing this game will be missing is a good, coherent story. The gameplay, music and world look promising so far. However, it's just too bad that it is almost impossible to salvage the mess they made in FFXIII-2 with the time travelling confusion and stuff, imo.

Nevertheless, I can't wait to play it!

These tracks aren't bad I guess, but the more news I hear about this game, less Final Fantasy-like it seems... :hmmm:

I wouldn't second guess these tracks being in a Tales game, but it seems weird for a FF game for some reason. Or maybe I'm overthinking it. >.>;

The second track does not sound remotely Final Fantasy, I have to say! :lew: It's a reasonable piece of music...but it's not in the same league as Eyes on Me, Melodies of Life and Suteki Da Ne. To be fair though, New World wasn't very FF-esque either (based on the 'Golden' titles), but I love it!

The music in FFXIII and XIII-2 was also quite different to the music Nobuo composed; the franchise is taking a new direction. Regardless, I absolutely adore the music in XIII-2. There's still a chance I'll adore this too.

I can't say they stand out that much. They actually sounds quite...jungle-ish? If that makes sense :wacky:. I actually think they may suit the game though, 'cause they're pretty gloomy tracks and as we all know, FF:LR is all about the gloom, story-wise.

^ The rap music in XIII-2 was horrible. I liked almost everything else in the soundtrack.

Anyway, these tracks sound good. I really like the first one because it sounds very evil and godly. It might suit the theme of the story (chaos seeping everywhere) and the end of the world.

Track #2 sounds ok ish. I kind of wish a woman was singing it instead. I feel it would just be a lot better for some reason.

Track # 3 sounds okay as well. As long as we do not have more music that is horrible like the vile peaks, I will appreciate anything they throw at us.

I finally got a chance to listen to these, the first one is evil like and I am fine with that. I agree with others who said this will play with the theme of the story. Second one is oooook? I am not to fond of vocals in final fantasy besides like lirael mentioned. The third track is catchy haha I like it ;)

Gotta say that S-E still pays attention to having a great soundtrack. Sometimes it's hard to judge it before actually playing the game. Some visual context is always needed to enjoy the tunes properly which is fine by me.

The game is looking so damned gawdlike!

I really like how they are developing Lightning =)

The combat 'feels' so smooth and the transitions aswell.

Buyin' this day 1.

Sorry for bringing the thread back from the past, but I bought myself this for Christmas as I was working. (Hence my absence on here, Happy New Year by the way!)
The fourth disc didn't do much for me but the first three discs were really special to listen to. I think Disc 3 might be my most played of the three.
Hope to soon get a Top Ten of them at least.
There have been pieces I remembered from the game and was pleased to hear, and there was also a lot of discovering how most tunes played different sections I'd been too busy running from music cue to music cues of battle.
Maybe not the greatest soundtrack to some, but as the first ever game soundtrack I bothered (And could afford to) to get, I couldn't have picked a better soundtrack.

And how evocative of 1930's Egyptian explorers does Fang's Boss theme sound about under two minutes in.
Free from dialogue and visual distraction, I never knew there was so much into it more than pleasant tunes!

Still can't read a word of the Composer's Message though!
