Linkin Park

I do enjoy Linkin Park, but I haven't really listened to their stuff in about a year or so.

I was a little tired of the emo-ness their songs produce so i stopped listening for awhile.

Sometimes when I feel like shit I put on an LP song or album and it makes me feel.....not better but more satisfied or whatever.

They were the first Nu-Metal band I ever heard so that's pretty cool.

Anyways the only thing resembling emo that I like and I can't wait for their new album.

I've heard from a couple people they put out a new song on the internet but I haven't been able to listen to it yet.

Is it any good?

They were pretty good, they had some notable songs. I believe they kind of went down-hill after their collaboration with Jay-Z though. >>

Note: It is NOT my fault if this thread is bumped. A mod closed my newer thread, and linked me here.

I have all of their CD's that's been released here.

They were my first favorite band, they rock.
Cheesr to you, they were my first favorite band as well. And they still remain in my number 1 spot, for a few years running now.

And as for the Jay-Z collaboration... yeah, they are kinda going downhill. I got their Minutes to Midnight and all I could think was, 'Oh no... they're all wearing black....' I just don't want them to get all emo-goth. I loved their punky, graffiti style. It was awesome.

And I'm really, really happy 'cause I went to my first Linkin Park concert a few weeks ago... Very very cool. The beat and everything, you could feel it in your chest. Kinda takes over. :3

And even though their popularity has apparently gone down... I'll still love 'em.

I love Linkin Park... but I agree, the Jay-Z collaboration was kind of a...
well, mistake jumps to mind, but I didn't mind it too much...
I actually quite liked Minutes to Midnight, especially "Hands Held High"...
quoted that in my recent debate hehehe...
But my favourite album will remain Meteora. Great album, although Hybrid Theory is a close second.

Ah I do like Linkin Park, In the End and Numb are probably my faves. I only really got into them when breaking the habit came out,but since then I was addicted. I love that song and the video is epic :monster:

I actually really liked that song and I don't even like Jay Z at all :wacky:

No worries, it's okay for older threads to get bumped. ;)

And yes, I love Linking Park. I love their new album, Minutes to Midnight, and most especially that one particular song, "What I've Done". I never get tired hearing it. The lyrics to that song is something quite meaningful and sentimental to me...

Hands Held High and No More Sorrow are also good. The lyrics are very interesting and oh so true. I think they are more of a political view more than anything.

Linkin Park is an excellent band...they used to be my favourite band, until I found out Nightwish, about half-year ago.
Crawling, Papercut, Somewhere i belong, Lying from you, In the End and What I've Done are simply amazing... Some of the best songs I've ever heard in my life...
And then there's Numb, their best song IMO...
Yeah definitively one of the best bands of the present.

They aren't bad. I enjoy listening to some of their older stuff every now and then.

However, the new stuff I've been hearing on the radio every so often is crap, imo.

I gotta say I love the remixes of their songs. The album ReAnimation is something I can just listen to forever without it getting boring. Also, remixes by other djs/groups usually turn out some pretty awesome stuff.

Stupid me for not noticing this thread earlier.

Being a pretty avid LP fan, i think i've got just about every some they have ever made. Even some fan remixes.

I got a couple you guys have probably never heard of, even one from a scrapped fan remix of the Meteora album, which was going to be called Deanimation. Never got completed sadly. :(

I absolutely love Linkin Park! I have their whole Live in Texas album, and I have What I've Done.... My favorite song now is between Runaway, Papercut, and Dig it Out (I think that's what it is named, I don't have that song but I have heard it alot before)...

Not really my cup of tea, but when I was younger I listened to Hybrid Theory and found myself humming some of their songs. Nowadays, that's honestly the only memory of them...actually, their second album wasn't too bad, but I never got into them after that.

They come under my "guilty pleasure" band, I like them but I don't like to admit it.

CRAAAAAAAWLIIIIIIING IN MAAAAAAAAAI SKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN, THESE WOOOOOUNDS THEY WILL NOT HEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAL!

But in all seriousness, I love Linkin Park, they've been one of my favorite bands since Hybrid Theory came out. And one thing that REALLY pisses me off is how everyone out there calls them emo now.

LP is far from emo. Sure, they have some songs that deal with stuff like that, but their lyrical range goes beyond that. Hell, I'm pretty sure their song What I've Done is about as far from emo as you can get. No emo is going to forgive themselves for shit they've done and move on :neomon:

I was really into this band when they first came out.

I loved Numb and Somewhere I belong.

They were my favourite.

I have both of their first albums (thinks they're the first albums) Meteora and Minutes to Midnight. I think I small album with some of their songs on it called Collision Course as well.

Their new song for The Transformers soundtrack 'New Divide' was pretty awesome too. I'm glad I never listened to the radio, as I did hear that it was getting a bit overplayed at one stage. XD

I agree, I don't consider them to be emo either. I think the term is used rather loosely sometimes tbh :hmmm:

I think Linkin Park are awesome. I haven't heard much of their newer stuff but I love Hybrid Theory and Meteora. They just have a really polished, tight sound, and I love how they're able to convey so much anger and energy without dropping F-bombs every five seconds. It shows that they put a lot of thought into their lyrics.

Agreed! I love Hybrid Theory and Meteora. Their new songs aren't as great, but the two new ones that I like are New Divide and What I've Done. I love their older songs though like Runaway, Bleed it Out, and Numb.

They're a great band and they aren't exactly "emo". They just have their moments with their music like most other bands do. It's a great mix of decent rapping sometimes and rock.
