Dirge of Cerberus Lucrecia

Ahh so that answers my question on how she got stuck in that crystal.

But someone mentioned that they thought Lucrecia and Vincent's relationship was platonic. Well if you play the game through and get all the hints you realize that their relations isnt. In DoC its made very clear she loved him just as much. It was only her guilt of his father's death that pushed her into Hojo's arms.

SPOILER ALERT -

In DoC there are random words that seem to flash on the screen at odd times ( spoken with Lucrecia's Voice). Then when Shelke unifies the two halves of Lucrecia's data by netdriving, the random words that flash through out the game finally come together to form two sentences: "I loved Vincent with all my heart" and "Please don't die on me, I love you!".

EDIT: Use the spoiler button then instead of posting the spoiler. ~SS~

hmm...not really about Lucrecia- but can someone tell me why does cloud have Vincent's cape in KH?

I also wonder if Vincent ever attempted suicide...I guess since he is automatically at the front line during the first battle in ff7 then...

Vincent was already ready to die he was seating in his coffin just waiting so i wouldn't be suprised if he did. As for cloud he joined the darkside vincent could've helped him out with he's training or something.

Lucretia Crescent.

The purpose of this thread is to discuss the tragic love of Vincent Valentine, Lucretia.
What really gets to me is people going on about how evil she is and how she betrayed Vincent...

Lucretia DID NOT elope with HOJO.

She was raped...

read on, this is from wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucretia)

"There is a character named Lucrecia whose story is very similar to the Roman Lucretia in the popular video game "Final Fantasy VII." In the game, Lucrecia becomes a scientific guinea pig when her husband ("Professor Hojo") tricks her into offering up her body for scientific experimentation, and she ends up giving birth to the antagonist, "Sephiroth." A man, Vincent Valentine, that truly loves her gets in the way of her husband and the plans for Sephiroth and is shot and mutilated by Hojo who cuts off his arm, attaching a mechanical one. Hojo uses him for experiments involving Mako and Jenova's cells. Lucrecia, grief-stricken, tries to save him. When she does, he proclaims himself a monster and locks himself in a coffin beneath the Shinra mansion. She later commits suicide by shutting herself away in a Mako cavern, because she feels that all the things that have happened to her son and to Vincent are her fault. Vincent is the only one who remembers her name. Like the Lucretia of Roman legend, she is "raped" and forgotten, not even her son acknowledges her."

Perhaps anyone else has made similar revelations or is willing to contribute their opinion of her?

I think technically the Lucrecia in FFVII wasn't raped, but she was tricked into participating in Hojo's experiment and deeply regretted what she did after.

What idiots said Lucrecia was evil and betrayed Vincent and such

When I played Dirge of Cerberus, it showed a lot more things happening between Vincent and her. Although given that Vincent was only an optional character in the original FFVII game, it's understandable that not a lot of background was given to him at the time.

But even though there was more info in that game, from what I understood. Lucrecia DID love Vincent, but guilt
over the death of Vincent's father kept her from telling her feelings

I was surprised because, going by the DoC game story,
Lucrecia was still alive after Hojo shot Vincent and incorporated Chaos into his being, and she was trying to save Vincent until she died.

Ah, I knew the name "Lucrecia" had a dark origin, but I wasn't to sure where it was from; thanks for the info.

Hmmm.. I was under the impression that Lucrecia was not dead. Because she was horrified at what she had done to her child and to Vincent, she tried to commit suicide. The Jenova cells inside her body made it hard for her to do so though, and she ended up locking herself away in the cavern. She could come out if she really wanted to, but because she can not deal with the pain she caused others, she never will.

I think that Lucrecia couldn't put up with what she had done and didn't die because she couldn't because of the Jenova cells instead, locked herself in the crystals what she is oftenly seen in and where you see her in FF7?

Also the reason for all off that is Hojo, who was a scientist who used Lucrecia unborn baby as a experiment that in the end, created Sephiroth hence the reason Hojo putting Jenova cells into Lucrecia. Vincent loved Lucrecia truly but he couldn't stop her from using her baby and so he blamed himself. He tried to stop it but ended up being shot by Hojo who used his body as a experiment and turned his body into almost immortal. Lucrecia who wanted to save Vincent put Chaos inside him and because of the experiments Hojo did on Vincent he could control Chaos inside of him. After that he was locked in the coffin inside Shinra mansion to 'attain for his sins' when he awoke when Cloud comes and helps him. =)

Thats most I know. Also Vincents father was killed when they were experimenting and the container broke and he pushed Lucrecia out of the way to save her and it hit him instead, he then died.

Hope that helps.

Her name means 'light' doesn't it? Look at the Italian root word, Lucia.

Anyways, the first thing I thought when I started this game, was 'Damn! I've been saying her name wrong this whole frigging time!!!'

*cough, cough*

yeah. Why is she even crystalized in mako? Last we saw of her, she was alive and talking! Even Cloudy boy was speaking to her.

Color me confuzzled.

If this has already been asked and answered, please point me towards the correct post. Ty

I really cannot understand how she was caught in Hojo's trap.Oh,well the answer is she is to innocent to think bad things or that she was in a bad state after the death of Vincent's father to the point she couldn't think clearly.
