Mako eyes

C'mon now people. Let's put more effort into posts instead of just one-liners, alright? I really don't want to have to close out this thread because some people out there might have decent answers to the questions.

Perhaps because of the colour of the mako itself? It could be some mental chemical reaction.

I'm with Faith on this. The color of Mako is green, correct? Well, let's correlate the green color to poison. Mako poisoning. In the Final Fantasy series, whenever a character is inflicted with poison, the character turns green. I think that in Sephiroth's case, his eyes are green because of the mako energy and jenova cells infused in him. I don't know, I could be wrong though. There are quite a few theories when it comes to this subject. I mean, now that I think about it, did it actually officially state in the game that mako is color green...? I've just always assumed it is.

Because Cloud's eyes are blue, yet Sephiroth's eyes are green. Both were infused with mako, so why the different eye color...? But apparently, in Last Order, Cloud's eyes turned Jenova green when he is in contact with Sephiroth. (I don't know if that bears any significance at all.)

Oh, did some research real quick. I guess it's not that the mako turns your eyes a different color, but rather it makes your eyes "glow". Didn't someone say (I believe Aerith) that Cloud's eyes has the same "glow" that Zack had or something? So the "glow" is what relates to mako, not an actual color changing case. Unless I'm wrong again. Meh.

Yeah mitsuki its a glow not a color change.

It just puts a light behind their eyes, which is why Zack's blue eyes look impossibly blue and Sephiroths green eyes look eerie green.

My theory was that since mako energy is processed lifestream and lifestream is made up of the dead (I think) then that would make the light behind their eyes a part of the collective unconscious.

Wee, for theories. It makes them stronger, maybe quicker and more durable (shrug) I mean, Zack takes on an army by himself and chops them down to a handful.

Strange subject. I reckon it has kind of reaction to what ever colour your eyes are, someone who had green eyes originally would turn different to someone who had blue eyes.

Yeah i remember that comment, they were on the way to sector 7 and Aerith say's their eyes had the same glow, I wonder if it has the same effect on their blood o_O

With it being 'poisoning' aswel, in RL being poisoned has effects so Im guessing its just some kind of side affect....?

I know that Sephiroth had that glow in his eyes probably because he was born with it. As Mits put it, he was infused with Jenova cells when he was still unborn in Lucrecia's womb, so it must be one of those special features he got added along to the superhuman strength, speed and yada, yada, yada.

Mako Eyes. :]

But yeah i think its more of a glow than a colour change, and im not too sure on the subject (it's been a while since i played 7) but i thought "Mako Eyes" where caused when someone had been in close contact with "Materia" Or "Mako" Like Cloud/Zack where experimented on with Mako, and Sephiroth was born from it

but thats just me, Quote me if im wrong! :]

I might be wrong, but i think Angeal and Genesis from Crisis Core also were expiremented with mako. But i cant be too sure, cause I've been wrong before....

Well Regular Soliders are washed just with Mako, while High Classed Solider such as Sephiroth has been washed by Mako and he had Jenova Cells and so is Cloud (after the psycho Sephiroth incident in Nibelhiem) and about the eyes color, perhaps it is a Chemical Reaction

This is a good question, but if you think about it, why does Yellow Fever turn your eyes yellow? Well yellow fever is an infection that spreads through your whole body right? So think that Mako does that aswell, when your infused with Mako and Jenova Cells, maybe the green glow of mako dialates your eyes and changes the color, because at the end of AC all the kids who were exposed to mako heal and there eyes go back to blue, brown ,etc. But again good question, hope this suffices
