Nintendo Mario 64

From what I can tell, Super Mario Galaxy has more stages, but you don't spend as much time in each stage. I would have preferred the stages to be a little bigger and to have more stars in each stage, a la Mario 64. Still the fact that they added more controls and made so many stages in the first place gives it major points.

Instead of having larger stages, they just have lots of tiny little planets in one stage, so it seems like the stage is smaller.

Come on, who wouldn't like to play this game again after a few months of beating it?

Me. haha

What's the point in playing it again? And so soon. Maybe I'd be ready for another go in a few years...after I've been starved of not playing a decent platformer for so long. Great game, but not one I can play time and time again.

I never beat the original, but I beat the DS remake. I must say, it is a great game, I enjoyed every minute of it. I managed to get 116 stars the first time, but my data got deleted. After a second time, I finished with 118 stars. Though I enjoyed the game, I can't say it's the greatest Nintendo 64 game. That title goes to Zelda: OoT, imo.

I'm the same. I've played it and completed it 100% 10 years ago now and haven't replayed it since except for 10 mins on the DS version.

Only Mario platformers I play since then was the ones on the All-Stars + World SNES cart.

I'm so disappointed that I never got to finish this game completely. I made it up to over 100 stars, but I just could never make it to the final boss. I would always die before then. It sucks too knowing Dad did finish the game, so he has bragging rights. Now, the game is in "Video Game Hell" AKA our closet. I could always dig up the old console and game, and try to finish it. Either way, I found it to be a great game, and a bit frustrating. :)

Had alot of fun with it.
It had you to do something even after completing the game with only 70 stars.

120 stars
Only point to getting 120 stars is to see Luigi and Yoshi. Ha ha. It made me think that Mario is from another dimension at a different point in time.

And you can break the game anyway by beating it with a glitch that you can do with no stars.

I didn't have a N64, so I ended up playing this for the first time on the D.S., the weekend it was released here in the UK. I was actually rather impressed - the levels were all very different and well designed, making the world an exciting, fun place to explore! Unfortunately, it is the only 3D Mario game I have enjoyed! I tried Mario Galaxy but found it too fussy. =(

Even though it offers much more than Mario64.
