how many friends or other people you know have moved on?

It depends on what you mean by moved on. I'm not actively playing this game right now. I did beat it once but I never finished all of the sidequests. I may pick it up and play through it again some time in the future since I don't plan on selling or giving it away.
 
Actually I honestly dont know IRL alot of people who like FF.
I played the game and at the time it came out didnt realy enjoy it,the charecters but for fran all looked to familliar like they had the same parents wich turned me off and at the release time I wasnt particularly enthused with it.
But apon reflection the game realy dosent seem that horrible in comparison to SE's current releases so I do plan to play it again with a new outlook on it...when I finish the hordes of other games I plan to play first:)
