Music you listen to when you play games.

Depends what im playing, if it's an rpg or mmorpg ill usually be listening to the OST unless of course im grinding levels or whatever then ill pop on some music, anything ranging from classical to metal, no pop, techno, country, or commercial bullsh1t though. :D
 
I prefer to listen to the game soundtrack, tbh, especially when I'm playing RPGs. I don't think I've played an RPG yet where I didn't enjoy the music, even if the soundtrack didn't blow me away. Most of the other games I play have decent music as well (Borderlands, Halo 3, etc).

I do remember muting the television when I was playing FFX though because the voices irritated me. And when I used to play Maplestory, I'd mute the game music and play Enya.
 
when i play things like an FPS or Fighter i all ways listen to my own music generally because they both have pretty crappy music them selves and it makes me play better especially when i go to a fighting game tournament(examples SSBM) music makes me play better and it also drown out the noise of people around you.

When i play an RPG from Fallout to FF i hate listening to music while playing those i get pissed off if i miss anbody say anything (even if its a cheesy one liner)

what do i listen to?
well i used to listen to things in the region of Post-Hardcore,MetalCore bands but that made me play worse then i do if i listen to things like Chiptune,Hardcore or Dubstep <-- these make me play so much better
 
If I get sick of listening to the background music of a game I'll just stick a CD of mixed songs in whatever console I'm not playing the game on and hook up the sound to that.

I don't listen to just one song either. It'd get more irritating then the background music. 0_o

At the moment my CD's consist of Lady Gaga mostly, Britney, Metallica etc. Anything that sounds good and is better then the game soundtrack.
 
When I'm playing my games on the Xbox, I always have my music on. I generally listen to Lady GaGa. Sometimes I listen to Alexandra Burke. I don't really not listen to my music, the game music bores me a little bit.
 
I listen to metal music... I listen to Death Metal, Black Metal and Thrash/Speed Metal to get me pumped up when i fight a final boss or killing people in call of duty: modern warfare 2 or killing zombies...
