My benchmark scores, framerates, and frametimes are ridiculously high compared to people with the same GPU, a 6800XT, which makes me think I’m doing something wrong. The sites and videos I saw are using the Very High preset as am I.
I noticed that my grass seems to be loading in later than people with the same GPU, so maybe that’s artificially increasing my FPS. Here’s a video of it working properly:
My grass doesn’t show up at all (just the shadows) until Noctis is right above it after everyone gets out of the car and heads to the Chocobo station even though it’s all loaded in as soon as Noctis Why is this loading in so late? Is something wrong with my GPU?

Average FPS: 73 FPS
1% Lows: 56 FPS
1440p: Score: 12931
Average FPS: 131 FPS
1% Lows: 96 FPS
1080p: Score: 17006
Avg FPS: 172 fps
1% Lows: 122 fps
Eteknix got scores of 6674 at 4K, 11323 at 1440p, and 13339 at 1080p. Mine are much higher than those with the same Very High same settings. Tech radar got average framerates and 1% lows of 63 and 46 FPS at 4K, 110 and 66 FPS at 1440p, and 142 FPS and 88 FPS at 1080p. What’s wrong with my grass, and what’s wrong with my benchmarks?
