I haven't done this in a while (I did this about a year or 2 back for another forum I'm a member of), and while it's not displayed like it used to be (these are just laid out on my kitchen table, and it was a nightmare fighting off 2 cats who get into everything haha), I figured I'd show you all my Final Fantasy collection (except I forgot FF Tactics on the PS1, oops!)

Here's a picture from a while back, and how it used to be set up:

This set up had to change as my collection grew massively to well over 500 games, and I had to move things around. Anyway, onto the real meat of the thread :D

First, an overview (you can see FF1 CIB's corner):

Next up: http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z50/pulsepointband/photo11_zps95dc6442.jpg

In this picture, you can see Final Fantasy 3 SNES CIB, FF3j Reproduction NTSC Box and Cart, FF2j and 3j Famicom carts, FF5 GBA, FF1+2 GBA, and FF Tactics Advance GBA.

In here, you'll see FF2 SNES, FF: Mystic Quest, FF 1, and FF5 Reproduction Box

Here we have the FF5 reproduction box, FF5 NTSC translated reproduction SNES cart, and FF5 super famicom cart

The rest are the PS1 and 2 games:

Other games I forgot to include were FFXIII and XIII-2, both are the collectors edition for the 360. Also, I forgot Final Fantasy Legends 2.

Which covers look hideous to you? The original releases (FF1, 2 and 3 North American) or the reproduction ones? I don't think 1 looks bad, 2 is just an ugly red with FF2 on it, so I agree with you there :P and I don't think 3 looks horrible. The reproduction boxes and label art (FF3j NES and FF5) weren't my choices, but I think they look good for what they are :)

Ah, I see what you mean. Yea, the white background with the logo and name looks very good and standardized compared to the North American releases. Hmm... maybe I should buy the Japanese/European boxes and swap the contents :P

The NES copy of the 3 is a reproduction as it never came out in America. I took a translated ROM, and repurposed a different game (Super Mario Bros. 2/USA) and added a battery for the SRAM save data. I had someone on another forum who makes reproduction boxes make me the box for it :)

Ultima, that's a hell of a collection - you too dra600n.

I agree with the European comment, the covers are just so much cleaner and attractive. You're right what you say, the Lightning cover spoiled tradition, but then again since when did Square Enix care about tradition?
