I'm planning on finishing out FFIX within the next couple of days. Any tips would be helpful. (i.e: recommended levels, weapons, abilities, etc.)

I suggest that you equip every character in your party with Clear headed,
Body temp, Antibody, and Jelly. Those block Confuse, Freeze, Heat, Petrify and Venom. Having Auto-Regen and Auto-Haste equip is always good as well as anything that will up your hit points.
For your party, I suggest using either Eiko or Dagger for their healing abilities and then two of your best characters. If you're using Freya and/or Steiner, Dragon’s Crest and Climhazzard are good to use here. My characters were around levels 50-60.
Whenever Necron uses one of his protective magic spells, don't try to dispel them. It will just waste your time because he will recast them. Healing a lot is the key. Even if you still have quite a bit of hit points left, still heal. His attacks can be a bitch.

Thanks for your help! I finished it last night. The one thing i hated the most was his Grand Cross summon that put random status effects on your party. Steiner was turned into a zombie. I forgot it and used curaga on all. needless to say, he died. oh, well. I managed to beat him anyway. I used Zidane, Dagger, Vivi and Steiner, whose levels were around their mid seventies. Once again, thanks for the help!
