I'm pleased to announce that we've a new user level added to the forums to recognize those members who have been with us for a while. The new user level is 'Veteran Member' and is for members who have been with the forums for at least a year since the site is a year old now (which is launched on the 6th June) and have 1,000 posts or higher.

Hope you're going to like this idea especially to the members out there who have been with us since the very first launch of FFF.

Is this all they get is a user level or do they get something special along with it? Just wondering...

The User Level IS the reward -- everyone is so "gimme gimme gimme" these days (Sorry I'm on the Warhawk beta and everyone there drives me crazy).

Lol. I wasn't asking for anything, especially since I am not one of these members.

Just wondering if there was something else that came along with it. Not asking for anything.

It doesn't matter much for those, because DB and Mir are the only two active Vets FFF has, and neither of them use the RPG much so I doubt they mind about extra gil for posting. Plus something like that would be pretty hard to set up I'd say.

Anyway, I don't like this. The site is only a year old; I think this isn't enough to have forum 'veterans'. I think this should be replaced by the 'Senior Member' class.

I like the idea because maybe there are a few people who put in a lot to get this site started and posted a majority of their posts back then, and can now have some recognition. I think of Gaaramaster who would be up for it soon I think (not sure his join date), but he's got over 1000 posts, but most of them I don't recall because he made a lot before I joined.

Nice addition for a little recognition. It's not a reward people, it's "recognition".

yeah like a higher boost of gil with a post?

or 1exp for a post?

Nah, I do not see this happening. But if people win contests, they could be awarded special weapons, if they choose them.

Congrats, to the members, who have reached this honor. ;)

he is right you should be grateful for the rank and not ask for more cause when you got that you deserve more respect

Damn I won't be a veteran for another 7 months. =[

Same here, Me and you joined on the same exact day from what I remember. You have me beat by like...3 Member Numbers? :p

IMO this is a great idea. It celebrates the anniversary of FFF and serves as a good form of recognition for the older members. Two thumbs up. And kudos to all those who will be getting said status.

Warm regards,

I think I have to agree with Pooley about the forums not being old enough to have Veterans. I mean, really. It's only one year old. And some of our "veterans" still post like boobs.
(No offense to anyone, not saying any names, but it's somewhat true.)

I also don't see that many people who've been around for a year... With 1000 posts or more.

I think that the only ones that come to mind are... DarkSquall, Dark Cloud(Not too sure...), Gabranth, and Gaaramaster. And AG.

It's not really neccesary to add this user level since there are so few. =\

Edit: Ha! I'll be a Veteran 15 days before you, Rhea and Busta! Eat my dust. =p

I've got just over a month to go, and less than 30 posts. =D

Gaining some recognition for a form of dedication is quite nice. Liking the idea. :p

It's recognition for showing dedication to these boards. Just like a veteran in the real world is a person who fought for their country and showed dedication to it over a period of time. And just as it doesn't mean he was a fantastic shot, neither does this recognition really signify that they are great posters. Just dedicated to these boards... and that's all they need to be welcome here.
